It was a warm friday afternoon.
Taiju had just had lunch and was free off school, so this was the perfect time to go fetch that 10 millimeter wrench socket his smart friend Senku keeps losing every week.
He saluted his lady friend Yuzuriha as he crossed the street and hailed the bus, paid the ticket and soon he was there. What a majestic sight, the enormous building with a bright lit sign reading ''hardware store''.
A sign out front cheerfully informs him that every 27th costumer will get a ball peen hammer free, Taiju got excited and hoped he'd be the one. He roamed the aisles for hours, looking at screws of every shape and size, all the novelty lightbulbs he never wished for. Electric generators, hacksaws and house plants, he carefully inspected it all. Finally he spotted it, that he had been looking for all this time. It was beautiful, ten millimeter hardened steel wrench socket, chrome finished. It felt like running into a friend he hadn't yet met.
The cashier took his cash, and giving his change back, wished him a nice day.
The moment of making Senku proud had finally come, he was waiting at the lab when Taiju came knocking the door. When it opened, Taiju triumphantly presented the tool he flawlessly acquired. Senku took a moment of contemplation, and reponded to his friend with: ''Teheee, I found my old socket, thanks anyway, Taiju''
