The Ninja were out on patrol late at night, keeping a lookout for any gangs that might want to disrupt the peace of Ninjago city. They were jumping from building to building with only the moon as their light when Cole and Nya noticed that Jay was falling behind a bit to catch his breath.
The Ninja stop on top of the gale gossip building.
“We should split up to cover more ground, Zane, Kai and I will go east, jay, Cole and Nya got west we’ll meet up at the police building at midnight the current time is10:46. Any questions?” Lloyd communicated.
“Nope!” they all said in unison
Lloyds group left, jumping to the next building to start their patrol. Nya, Cole and Jay took their hoods off.
Cole looked at Jay and said, "Yo babe you good you? You keep breathing hard and stopping to catch your breath."
Nya looked concerned. "Yeah, I was noticing that too. Are you okay?" Jay simply looked at them. He looked hesitant and they seemed to notice his behavior.
"You don't have to worry, you know you can tell us anything. We won't judge you," the water ninja said.
Jay finally began to say something. "Yeah, just…. My ribs are kinda feeling crushed," he said quietly
"Jay… you're not wearing a binder are you?"
"Yeah" Jay looked ashamed of himself
Cole thought about his next words carefully for he didn't want to upset the blue ninja.
"Jay, you know you're not supposed to wear a binder while exercising, which includes ninja work."
"Also I thought you owned trans tape. What happened to that?" Nya interrupted.
Jay looked at both of his partners.
"Okay so, I ran out of trans tape last week and had to take the tape off yesterday so now I have to wait for a new shipment of tape that comes in a few days. I thought since it was just patrol I could just man it out in a binder but clearly I'm not fooling no one." The brunette stopped talking. Cole took a deep breath.
"Well you got one thing right, you're not fooling us. We know you too well bluebell, but I understand your reasoning but you should have told us. I have some tape you could have used instead of harming your ribs in that deathtrap."
"Yeah Jay, we care about you a lot. It wouldn't have been inconvenient to assist you. We can handle the patrol tonight. You go back home and change out of your binder." Nya finished.
"Okay you're both right. I'll head home, I'll even get a ride so I'm not exercising. I promise."
Cole and Nya said together, "You better!"
They all got in a tight embrace but not too tight to avoid damaging Jay's ribs any further. Cole and Nya put their hoods back on, meanwhile Jay started heading towards the stairs.
"Wait hold on, I almost forgot something!" Jay yelled at the duo.
"What?"
"I love you."
"We love you too."
And with that the ninja we're off in their different directions. Jay ended up calling Dareth for a ride. He made his way down the stairs of the building and headed outside where he saw Dareth waiting in a car he'd never seen before.
"So why are you heading back without the rest of the ninja?"
"I uhhhhh need to walk my pet fish"
"Okay then…. Ninja and their strange pets" Dareth mumble the last part. He started driving to the monastery.
"You're lucky I was only a few blocks away at Ronins shop."
"Ronin? I thought he was in jail for reasons I forgot about."
"He is currently but I've been keeping his stuff in order which includes his shop, apartment and car, which is what I'm driving right now."
"Oh that's cool I didn't realize how close you two are with each other"
"We have known each other for a while now. Before he was arrested again we would hang out but then he got up to some shady shit again and you know how it ends" Jay nodded his head he was suddenly really sleepy and knowing he would have to go up the mountain that he lives on top of soon made him sleepier.
Sure they put an elevator in but he would still have to walk to get to it. The rest of the drive was spent with Jay trying to not fall asleep; he didn't want to fall asleep until he got to the monastery.
"This is your stop," Dareth announced Jay opening the door and got out.
"Thanks for the ride Dareth I'll see you around," and with that Jay started to walk to the elevator elevator and dareth drove off. Once Jay got there he walked in and pressed the top button. He got out of the elevator and headed to his bedroom to change. The “deathtrap” as Cole liked to call it was indeed crushing his ribs. He got to his bedroom which was a mess he hasn't had the chance to clean it yet with the sons of Garmadon running around and getting thrown into a whole new realm. He should probably get started on that now that everything has died down. He changed out of his binder into a sports bra and put on his favorite blue hoodie. Jay decided to clear off his bed so he could lay down, at least which had a bunch of clothes on it.
Jay got everything cleared off his bed so he decided to finally lay down. Maybe he would go to bed for the night he thought to himself but he also wanted to wait for Nya and Cole to get home so he could say goodnight or maybe cuddle with them. He was about to doze off when he suddenly heard the door open and footsteps. Then two figures came into his room.
“Hey Jay, it's us Nya and Cole. Everyone finished their patrol so we're back now.” It was Nya
He looked at the clock, it was 12:23? He could have sworn he just got back. Oh well time has a mind of its own.
“Hey guys is there a thing going on right now or can I continue laying down”
“Naw, we just came to make sure you’re alright. Do you want to be left alone or do you want us to stay?” It was Cole talking. The lights were turned off so it was kinda hard to see.
“No, you two can stay, I was hoping we could cuddle.”
“Yeah, that sounds good, We just need to change into our Pajamas and then we can join you” Nya said. Jay simply yawned. Nya and Cole quickly left the room so as not to waste any time. When they came back they all got in the queen sized bed.
“ I love you two” Jay said softly before sleep came and took him away.
“We love you too BlueJay”
