Work Text:
A shiver rippled through his frame much quicker than he’d anticipated, the cold winds of Europa seeming to find its way into his armor, stealing the heat within. He’d still clutched his scout rifle valiantly, pushing through the snow to the building in front of himself.
“Guardian, back on Europa, yes?” Variks spoke as he entered, clicking as he inspected the Warlock’s frame.
“I’m here to finish what’s left.” Khan nodded.
“You’re here for the Darkness.” Variks almost hissed out, watching how the guardian shifted on his feet.
“Yes.” Khan admitted.
“You like welding the Darkness.” Variks cackled with amused chirping.
Khan shook his head, the eliksni in front of him already grating his nerves. He went to start walking out, robes flourishing as he turned, already about to leave.
“Going so soon? With no information? Variks is here to give what you need, guardian.” Said eliksni spoke to Khan.
“I’d appreciate the information…” Khan said in confirmation, slowly turning his head.
His calculated gaze under Felwinter’s Helm looked at Variks as he turned back around.
“Yes, yes, Variks has more information.”
_______
The touch of Darkness, wielding the ability of Stasis, it chilled his bones in such a way that was almost addictive. His ghost spoke of dislike of his interest in the ability the Dark Fleet was bestowing upon him. Khan wanted to learn how to master the ability, the ice, the dangerous splinters. He tried to reassure his ghost that his interest was purely in the form of learning.
“Cronus, I just want to learn how to use it, I’m not going to turn to the darkness when the light has given me everything.” The Guardian tried again to reassure his ghost.
“Whatever happens, I’m here, we’re partners…” Cronus told the Warlock.
The further he used the abilities the further he found enjoyment, liking the ice, the cold. The sensation was so similar to the void but also so much different. With so much interest he found himself pushing it away, knowing what path he needed to walk down, that he was of the light and was not going to be consumed by the dark. He was going to use these powers for good, something weaker beings would take advantage of.
__________
Murdoc hummed, kamas dancing across her fingers as she watched him stalk closer.
“You did it?” She asked, getting a quick nod out of the helmed head.
“It is finished.” He simply stated.
“And?”
“And what?”
“Can you wield the Darkness? Can you use Stasis?”
“Yes.”
“I take it that you do with caution and sensibility?”
“Of course… what would happen if I didn’t?”
“I’d tell you to reconsider. That as the Eliksni say; ``The Light provides.”
