It's Autumn, the weather is crisp, and the leaves has changed colors. Two elderly married men stared at their front yard.
"It's your turn to rake the leaves." One of them said, that would be Eren.
"No, I threw out my back last time and it’s still not healed yet." The other replied, that would be Levi.
"Maybe we should pay some neighborhood kids to do it, both of us are getting on in years." Eren proposed.
"No, that would be a waste of money." Levi countered.
"We can wait until our grandkids come to visit us and have them do it." Eren was still trying to get out of doing the chore, even though he was the one who brought it up in the first place.
"No, the leaves are an eyesore on the lawn. It needs to be raked now." Levi argued.
"Why am I not surprised you would say that." Eren complained.
Back and forth they bantered about the lawn while drinking tea and eating cookies. Luckily for them, one of their grandkids did drop by that day for an unannounced visit and did the yard work for them.
