Work Text:
It was another long and lonely day at the Sato estate. Korra was in the middle of her workout routine in the gym and with the music blaring, she was trying to focus on her reps solely. All the while she was fighting the continually growing longing for Asami. Granted, she loved Asami so much, but it just seemed Korra couldn’t go without her today. She lost the track of time as she continued to work out for hours, she still wasn’t expecting Asami anytime soon.
She placed down the dumbbell and walked toward the other end of the room to grab a fresh towel. As she wiped her face and lowered her towel, she saw Asami standing in the door frame. If she wasn’t warm before, she definitely was now since the sight of Asami in an elegant and sultry dress immediately flushed Korra’s face. Eyes widened, mouth agape, she tried swallowing the lump in her throat as she watched Asami strut her way toward her.
“When did…,” was all Korra was able to mutter out before Asami spoke to her.
“Agent Double-O Korra. Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to go on a date with the Sato heiress. You are to meet her at the front door in 45 minutes. Do you accept?” Asami spoke low and with authority.
Korra raised a brow, “Yeah, I accept? I mean why wouldn’t…,” Her eyes widened in panic, “DID YOU SAY 45 MINUTES?!” She shouted. “How can I possibly–”
“You better get started then,” Asami said with a one-sided grin. She took a moment to eye Korra up and down before turning around dramatically. She walked out of the gym, with an added effort to make sure her hips swayed while she strutted out of the room.
Korra caught herself ogling Asami as she exited the room. As soon as Asami left her vision, Korra shook herself awake and began to panic. She only had 45 minutes to shower, dry off, get ready, find something suitable to wear, and make herself presentable that’s somewhat close to Asami’s attire. She cursed herself as she ran through the house. “Crap! Crap! Crap! Crap!”
48 Minutes Later…
Asami waited, standing outside at the front door with a grin on her face. She heard the sound of heavy feet rushing toward her. The door swung open and there stood an out-of-breath Korra.
“I’m here! I’m…here…,” Korra tried to catch her breath, “I…I made it.” she flashed a smile between breaths.
Asami tilted her head to the side, raised a brow, and spoke with the same inflection as earlier, “You’re three minutes late.”
“Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh!”
Asami could no longer continue the charade as she had to chuckle at Korra’s very loud displeasure. She stepped forward, leaned in, and planted a kiss on Korra’s cheek, “You did great, sweetie.” Asami straightened herself out and examined Korra’s work. “Honey, you did a remarkable job with such short timing. You picked out a great dress to match mine. And you just look sharp altogether, not to mention you smell amazing.” She extended her arm, and Korra grasped onto her hand, but Asami decided that wasn’t enough. She pulled Korra in and gave her a deep kiss. After squeezing Korra as hard as she could, she pulled away slowly, “Okay, let’s get going!”
Asami began to lead Korra to the car, but a thought occurred, “Wait…were you testing me? Did you try to get ready in such a short time?” Korra asked with a cocky grin.
Asami couldn’t help but laugh, “Not really. I just wanted to mess with you.”
Korra pouted, “Well that’s not nice.”
Asami noticed Korra’s pout lasted longer than her normal playful behavior, so she stopped and grabbed hold of Korra’s hands. “Are you okay?”
Korra nodded, “Yeah, sorry. I guess I’ve just been in a mood all day. I really missed you today and even though you’ve been home, this is really the first good amount of time we’ve been together.” she began to fight the frown that was forming, “And with the teasing, I don’t know. I guess I’m not in the mood. Sorry.”
“It’s okay, Korra. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything.” Asami cupped Korra’s cheek.
“I know…I just really want to be with you today.” Korra melted in Asami’s hand; she placed her hand over Asami’s for good measure.
“We can stay in if you like.”
“And waste all the effort I did for our date? I don’t think so!” Korra chuckled.
“Okay,” Asami laughed at Korra’s mood brightening once again, “Then let’s go out and when we come home, we can snuggle for the rest of the night. Is that all right with you?” Asami kissed Korra.
Korra smiled warmly, “It’s perfect.”
