Chapter Text
After Izuku stopped crying he exchanged contact with Toshinori before the two had to part ways. He wished he would have talked to the number one longer, which he had countered saying ‘Unfortunately even the number one has to do paperwork’ before leaving.
Around half an hour later Izuku had agreed to take One for All, he was out of the hospital after a final checkup and was deemed physically fit to be discharged.
But before they left Mustafu general Hospital, Inko decided to hook Izuku up with a therapist, something which Izuku decided to agree with since he could see her reasoning. After being kidnapped, held off a radio tower, guilt-tripped into believing he caused someone to basically die, falling to his death and fainting standing up, there must’ve been something wrong with him afterwards.
Now all Izuku wanted was to go home and sleep. That thought was quickly removed from his head by his phone buzzing twice. Picking it up Izuku was a little shocked at who it was.
Unknown Number: This is Yagi.
Unknown Number: Not to be blunt but is it alright if you come to Dagobah beach at 6 pm tomorrow?
‘Dagobah beach, wasn’t that place ridden with trash?’
Izuku could see why such a secluded location would work for his training. Who knows what controversies would arise if the Symbol of Peace’s ‘representative’ was caught with a lone child.
Me: Ok, see you tomorrow
Izuku turned off his phone and entered the taxi his mother had called.
The ride was silent all the way through, which was a bit worrying for Inko, as Izuku only stared out the window, seeing the bright colours appear and disappear. He was around Pro Heroes all day, which usually made him talk for hours. She didn’t hold it against him, considering that the reason he was around Pro Heroes was because of a villain attack, which he was a part of.
She just stayed silent and hoped that he would talk tomorrow.

After the two made it home, Izuku made B-line to his room, not even considering dinner. Inko asked Izuku if he wanted to eat some Katsudon. He stopped for a moment and just asked for some steamed rice instead, also deciding to get changed into his pyjamas as it began to heat up before going to bed.
After finishing his light dinner, Inko handed Izuku some sleeping pills used for nightmares before she headed to bed herself. Deciding not to take Izuku decided not to take the pills before covering himself over with his All Might-themed blanket, falling asleep immediately.
And as suspected, the memories of the day flooded into Izuku’s dream.
He saw Mijime’s face come out of his sludge, with half of it being some sort of monster. Izuku opened his mouth which caused sludge to leak out, choking him and making him unable to scream as the grasp over his neck got tighter.
His vision went black and Izuku’s mind went to him falling, watching as All Might was falling after him, but at the very end pulled his hand away instead of saving him.
His vision went black again and Izuku could feel his body laying on the tarmac beginning to warm with the spring sun. But as he felt it more and more as his vision blurred and he realized that he could feel every chunk of himself splattered on the road.
As even that feeling went numb and his vision turned to darkness again, Izuku felt a faint warmth from behind him. Turning around where he was, Izuku was met with a golden light that was quite familiar to him.
Walking up towards it and touching it, a sense of pure ecstasy fell over Izuku, finally stopping the nightmares.
The parrotfish, Kacchan backing off, Mirio’s patrol, All Mights rescue, speech and offering. It all came back to him in an instant before. The last thing he remembered from the dream was the same voice he heard in One for All again.
"Good Job Kid,” Izuku was able to hear before he fell into a dreamless slumber.

Before he went to bed Inko told Izuku to take Monday off just to calm down. Every time Izuku woke up and checked his alarm clock but still felt tiredness linger over him, he just turned around and fell back asleep.
When he didn’t want to sleep anymore, Izuku sat up and turned to his All Might-themed clock, seeing that it was half past ten. Quickly getting in a comfy shirt and clothing, Izuku opened the door, hearing his mother speaking to someone. As it creaked she stopped talking and called out to him.
“Izuku?”
“Mom who are you talking to? Sorry if I interrupted a phone call i’ll be,” Izuku stopped rubbing his eyes seeing a very rare event occur. “Quiet… what?”
Mitsuki and Masura Bakugou were on the other side of Inko at the dining table. Mitsuki had tear stains on her cheek and Masura had his hand on his wife's back, slowly rubbing it.
“Aunt Mitsuku? Uncle Masura? What are you doing here?”
“Oh, Izuku! You’re up! I’m sorry it's cold but I did make some Katsudon for you! I didn’t really know when you’d be up so I just decided to make some before and put it in the fridge if I needed to go,”
“Thanks, mom, but I’m not hungry right now if that's alright,”
“That's fine sweetie…” Inko rubbed her thumbs together. “Would it be alright if you sit down, we need to talk,”
“Oh… ok,” Izuku walked up and sat in the final free seat next to his mother.
What was this all about? Aunt Mitsuku visited his mother around once a fortnight, but Uncle Masura hadn’t stepped foot in his home for close to a decade. And the two of them together was so long ago that Izuku couldn’t remember the last time.
After sitting down Izuku looked around seeing Masura take his hand off his wife's back and quickly wiped his glasses and put them back on. He then decided to cough into his fist to break the silence and began to talk.
“Izuku… if I can be frank with you, I need to ask you a very deep personal question. Is that alright?”
Izuku nodded. “I do hope you do have some boundaries though Uncle Masura,” Izuku gave a light laugh at his own joke.
“Very well,” Masura took another deep breath. “How long has our son been bullying you?”
Izuku's eyes widened. “W-what?”
“It has come to our attention that Katuski's name is for you. Deku rings any bells?”
“I-it my nickname that Kacchan gave me as a kid… I thought you knew about that?”
“Izuku, do you know what Deku can mean?” Masura turned his head a little.
Izuku nodded, staying silent, but avoiding Masura’s eyes.
“It means useless… My son has been calling you useless for all of these years?” No response. “Izuku please we need something. Has he been calling you useless?” Izuku nodded. “Why hasn’t anyone said anything? Why haven’t you said anything?”
“Because you wouldn’t believe me,” Izuku said truthfully. “No one would believe the quirkless kid, especially with Kacchans quirk. They would just lay it off out of spite and jealousy. I’ve tried to tell the teachers before but… no one ever believed me,”
“Why Izuku? Why have you never told us? Told me about this? You mother about this? Did Aldera just lie when I asked them about how Katsuki is at school? Leaving out the part that he’s been bullying you for close to a decade at this point?”
“Aldera wants to be a school where heroes come from. Someone like me is just supposed to not make a fuss and try to be as quiet as they can.”
Mitsuki began to grip her fists, to which Masura rubbed her arm causing her to stop. “I see. But the question was never answered. How long has Katsuki been bullying you,”
Tears began to form in Izuku’s eyes. “Ever since I was diagnosed,” The mental anguish of those years. “But don’t worry it's not that bad, it's just some names and-”
A small explosion came from Masura’s hand right in front of Izuku’s face. The greennete staggered back from his chair, shivering in fear. Masura knew the usual reaction, a little bit of shock and then a compliment on how weird it was. He had used that trick in his younger years for a dare, and just by that reaction, Masura knew that this wasn’t just some small sort of pyrophobia created by Hisashi.
Izuku had Ekrixiphobia, the fear of explosions.
Masura tightened his fist so hard everyone could hear it. He was shaking with so much anger, so much anger because it was due to his quirk that had harmed Izuku all of these years. The explosive aspect of his quirk came from him, and his son had been using it for years.
No wonder it was powerful for his age, he had a guinea pig for years to test his quirk on.
He took a deep breath and got up.
“Izuku, I’m so, so sorry that I didn’t see it sooner. I promise you by the end of the year Katsuki will be different. Even if I have to remove his sweat glands to do so.”
He was filled with rage, so much so that even Mitsuki couldn’t think of any moment of knowing her husband was like this. The only other time she could even compare Masura’s anger now was close to two decades ago when someone had called her some sort of derogatory term she couldn’t even remember straight on a date.
But that didn’t compare to the sheer amount of anger her husband was in at that.
"Isn’t that a bit too far though Uncle Masura?” Izuku turned to Inko. “Mom?”
“Masura don’t do that much. Yes, I don’t like that Katsuki has done and caused so much pain to my son…” Inko looked at her boy. “One more bit of bullying from Katsuki and you tell me immediately! Alright?! I can’t take it anymore knowing that I could've been so negligent,"
“Mom… you were never negligent, it was just I didn’t want to worry you,”
“Izuku, I’m your mother. It's my job to notice and take care of you, and something like this under my nose is negligence. I've never realized how much you were being bullied and I thought it was all alright. I always knew you were clumsy but I never actually realized how bad it was…”
“Mom,”
“Promise me Izuku, please. If Katsuki tries anything you tell me right away! Okay!”
Izuku nodded. “I promise, I'll tell you if Kacchan bullies me again… I’ll tell you,”
She wiped the tears from her eyes and hugged her son. “Thank you Izuku,”
He smiled back before turning to his guests. “But still, Auntie Mitsuki, Uncle Masura, I know I shouldn’t say this but… don’t break Kacchan. He still wants to be a hero more than anything, a-and I’m worried th-that this will-,”
“Even now you’re still trying to bring the best out of people, you always had a small knack for that,” He walked over and patted Izuku on the head. “We’ll make sure he’ll become a hero, he just needs some pushing in the right direction,” Masura looked at his watch. “We need to be going, I’m sorry to cut this short but-”
“It's fine Masura, you’ve already been here for an hour,” Inko stated. “It was nice to see you again,”
“I couldn’t agree more Inko. I just hope we don’t have to repeat this,”
The Bakugou’s said goodbye to the two green-haired individuals and left. Inko looked at Izuku and saw everything begin to click in his head. The poor boy realised everything about the past ten years he’d known Katsuki, all made sense to him now. The torment, the bullying, and people not doing anything about it, it all came around just then. Tears began to shower the household as the two embraced each other.
Inko was the first to stop as she placed her hand on Izuku's cheek, a little trick she knew always stopped Izuku’s crying as a child, still working even as a teenager.
“Eat some Katsudon Izuku, it’ll make you feel better,”
Izuku just nodded at it before heading towards the table again and sitting down. Inko was right, the cold Katsudon really did make Izuku feel better.

“You’re here!” Toshinori yelled as he saw his successor running towards him. “I was a little worried but then again it is the first day after you were admitted from the hospital,”
Izuku puffed a little. “I am,” He wheezed, looking over at the sea. “So was there a reason you called me to Dagobah beach?”
“Yes, there is!” Toshinori looked over the horizon. “This is your training! To clean the entire beach!”
Izuku stood there for a moment.
“...I’m sorry, did you say that you want me to clean Dagobah beach?” Toshinori nodded and Izuku sighed. “Let me guess, holding One for All requires a lot of stress on the body due to the required quirks and implementation into DNA. This means that the body needs to be strong enough otherwise it’ll rip itself apart?”
Toshinori shut his gaping mouth. “That's correct! Even I didn’t think of why I was being trained as a holder! Yes, your goal is to clean Dagobah beach!” Toshinori ruffled his pants and brought out some pieces of paper which Izuku grabbed. “I also had the liberties to help with said change,” Izuku took the paper and began reading it.
“This is a training regime?” Izuku flipped through it. “Even how much sleep? Bring make sure to bring water. You’ll bring… powder?”
“Energy Power young Midoriya! You’ll be working vigorously! I don’t want your blood sugar or electrolyte levels to drop to the red! At the wrong place, you could fall or be crushed!” Toshinori hit the truck he was leaning on. “You’ll load the trash onto this truck before I take it to a nearby recycling plant,”
Izuku looked at the regime. “With the weight aspect, I believe it's not that effective,”
“Hmmm?” Toshinori looked over Izuku’s shoulder. “How so?”
“Well, it really doesn’t make sense for building muscle. If my body isn’t used to the weight it causes more strain and more damage to my muscles, causing a longer recovery time. Moving objects that are heavier than I can lift
especially
without proper form could cause detrimental physical harm to myself,”
“Well it is only the start and I’m fine with some… criticism. What do you think we should change?”
“Your diet plan does seem quite good and I would believe properly researched, considering how you don’t have a stomach and therefore would either know your way around nutrition or have a nutritionist,”
“Well… you are correct,”
“That parts fine, I would have to say I should focus on the lighter things such as small tires and focus on the form and work different muscle groups while moving,”
Toshinori got out his phone and typed about different muscle groups, eyes widening before putting it off. “Well that's not how my master did it but I reckon I should trust you more than her considering you are more…”
“Level Headed?”
“Yes, that's the word.” Izuku looked at the regime again before criticizing another issue he had with it.
“I’d suggest buying some safety equipment for me considering how dangerous this trash could be, cuts, bruises… maybe you should also bring a first aid kit just in case. Maybe I should invest in some more sturdier boots, maybe some knee and shin pads, arm guard, gloves, goggles, how did I forget about a helmet!?"
“If you want I could order some online?”
Izuku turned to Toshinori. “I would like that All Migh- Yagi Sensei?” he asked.
Toshinori chuckled. “Yes, I would believe it would be best to call me that when we’re in public,”
Izuku looked at the beach. “We can fix the problems at the later date. But for now, let's start,”
“You’ve already had a very stressful day yesterday, so for today you’ll only clean for an hour and a half today, is that clear?” A nod. “This will be the only time you will skip out on morning training as well. Two in the morning and three after school, as well as another two on weekends as well until the UA exams, are upon us! Is that clear!”
“Yes Yagi sensei!” Izuku began to run down to the beach and began to look around.
As Izuku began to enthusiastically began to look around for his first thing to pull, Toshinori pulled out his phone and began to use online shopping. Minutes later he had ordered some gloves, boots, joint pads and a helmet for his successor. Looking up Toshinori saw that Izuku was already hauling back two tyres on each arm up the stairs and back to his truck.
It wasn’t long enough for Toshinori to be clear on what the future would hold for him, but for now, he believed the future looked bright for the both of them.
