okay. this was the day. this was the day ena would confess her feelings to her beloved friend.
she has been planning for this day for a few months, making sure they both weren’t busy and there wasn’t school. it took a while, but it was definitely worth it!
she decided the confession would be on the rooftop of kamiyama high school. it was an easily accessible place. and it won’t be hard to get up there. it was a perfect idea! the problem is, mizuki is barely at school. and to top it all off, they haven’t been at school this whole week! so how would ena force mizuki come…?
“amiaaa, i'm going to be at school in the morning tomorrow, so you better be there!”
the next day, they were at school. saying hi to an and ena. hm, that was easier than expected.
ena walked down the hallway, looking for mizuki. suddenly, they just up and left during lunch, and now she has no idea where they are! jeez, is this what an has to deal with all the time? ena looked all over, but couldn’t find them. she felt a vibration in her pocket and took out her phone. she saw she got a message from mizuki. they first up and disappeared and now they’re messaging me like it’s nothing?! the brunette groaned but read the message.
mizuki:
if you’re looking for me, i’m on the rooftop~
oh, well that was easy.
after a few minutes, ena opened the double doors to the roof. almost immediately, she saw mizuki sitting on the bench, looking at the sky. they looked sad. their face wasn't like their normal, teasing face. no. right now, they had a frown and their eyes were lowered. “hey, mizuki!” ena shouted, waving. mizuki sat straight up and turned around. they wave back and ena jogged to them. “why are you up here?”
mizuki looked away. “no reason, i just wanted to be alone,” they shrugged their shoulders.
that was a major lie. but ena won’t butt on it.
“ah, okay.”
this certainly wasn’t what ena planned, but it’ll do.
“mizuki, i actually have to tell you something…” she trailed off. she fumbled with her fingers.
“yeah? what is it?” mizuki stepped closer, fully intending to make ena talk.
“u-umm…”
mizuki tilted their head. they were definitely playing dumb. they had that dumb smirk on their face and they crossed their arms. “c’mon, you know you can tell me anything.”
ena moved around a bit, clearly uncomfortable. “y-you know how we’ve been best friends since i started high school, r-right?”
“y-yeah.”
ena could tell that they were making fun of her stuttering. she puffed up her cheeks but slowly calmed down. “i’m just going to say it…”
“i like you, mizuki. i wasn't going to tell you right now, but you kind of ruined my plans since you disappeared, so…”
“do you like me back?”
mizuki was taken back. they fully processed the brunette’s confession. but the thing that took them off their feet was that they ruined her plans. what plans? and how did their disappearance ruin them…?
oh right, the confession. mizuki looked at ena who was flushed red. she’s cute when she’s blushing, mizuki figured that out long ago. the pinkette smiled and ran to hug ena.
“aw, enanan! i like you too~!”
“hah?? w-what?!” that hug caught her off guard and they both fell to the floor, with mizuki straddling her legs. “y-you like me too?!”
“did you not hear?” mizuki teased. “i do! and since you know my…secret…and have said multiple times that you will stay with me for eternity, i don’t have to pretend!!”
ena’s brown eyes widened but then she smiled, laughing a bit. mizuki wrapped their arms around her neck and kissed her. ena placed her hands on their waist, holding them closer.
“mizuki…i love you.”
“love you too.”
