Chapter Text

School.

It can be a great place for some and by some Haeun meant the people lucky enough to be unbothered by other students. Either that or they are 'accepted' due to their friends, looks, intelligence- you name it.

Most aren't burdened with that inevitable dread that arises at the sheer sight of the place or the familiar faces occasionally seen in public.

Unfortunately for Haeun, she is classified an odd rank in the school hierarchy. At first, people didn't even know she existed which she sometimes counted as a blessing unless she got asked if she is new at the start of every school year. However, that all changed one year when an actual new student decided to adopt her and bothered her until she agreed to hang around him in middle school.

Who may that be you may wonder? No one other than the charming Lee Felix who made teenage girls fall to their knees once puberty hit the boy overnight.

Once high school started, Felix practically had his own fan club formed within the first week of school and of course Felix being the sweetheart he is, couldn't stand up to the swarm of girls who would sometimes camp at his locker.

Soon enough, Felix was classified as one of the most popular boys in our year by the end of the first month, which resulted in Haeun becoming one of the most hated among the girls.

Some girls considered her some sort of rival, all because she was friends with Felix. The thought of even dating Felix makes her cringe as she saw him like a younger brother, but I guess they think she will 'beat them to it' whatever that means.

Anyway, that leads her to the current situation of watching some shitty anime Felix insists for her to endure. Sighing and leaning further into the mountain of pillows on her bed, she shoved a handful of popcorn from Felix's bowl into her mouth.

"Oh come on! It's always the same storyline. Boy meets girl, some drama happens, and they get together at the very end of the series." Haeun complained, mouth still full with popcorn.

Felix rolled his eyes and side-eyed her briefly before looking back to the rolling credits.

"I don't care what you think, Hae." Felix stood from his position on my bed and she raised an eyebrow.

"Leaving so soon?"

"We have school tomorrow." He muttered, walking across my room to retrieve his backpack slung on the back of her desk chair. Haeun sat up and stretched, glancing to the clock on her bedside table and dramatically fell back into the comfort of her duvet. She swore the weekends were too short.

Felix chuckled and walked over to Haeun with a spring in his step, his floppy hair bouncing with each stride. He was wearing a branded oversized grey hoodie with black sweatpants that barely clung to his legs. Felix's family were quite wealthy which could arguably be a reason he was popular.

"Hae?" Felix frowned, having been standing in front of Haeun for sometime.

She hummed in response, now paying attention.

"I said I'm going to head back home: Will you be alright?" His eyebrows furrowed deeper in concern to which she smiled softly.

"I'll be fine." Felix hesitated, his eyes narrowing for further reassurance. "You worry too much! Go home and rest, I'll see you tomorrow." Haeun pushed him lightly, gesturing to the door.

After further hesitation, Felix finally left and Haeun closed her laptop, sinking back into her bed. Her eyes fluttered closed, ignoring the faint dread for what tomorrow has in store.
