Chapter Text

Aizawa and Hizashi were surprised when they got the call from Nezu requesting their presence. They didn't question it though, both just assuming that it had to do with their classes. Honestly, if his problem children got into any more trouble then Aizawa was going to expel every single one of them.

"I am here!" Yagi cried as they approached the door, running to catch up with them.

Aizawa sighed. He didn't have the energy to deal with Yagi right now. He really just wanted a jelly pouch and to curl up in his sleeping bag and take a nap.

"Any idea why we were called?" Yagi asked hopefully.

"Not a clue," Hizashi shrugged, knocking on the door.

"Come in," Nezu called.

The three entered and it took all of Aizawa's self-control not to use his capture weapon on Dabi, who was seated across from the principal.

"Gentlemen, this is Dabi. He has a…proposition for us."

"Why are we listening to villains?" Yagi frowned. "Shouldn't he be in Tartarus?"

"He has an intriguing story that I think we should listen to," Nezu said calmly. "If what he's telling me is true then we have a chance at wiping out the League of Villains."

Curious, Aizawa kept his mouth shut, elbowing Hizashi to do the same. Yagi was too far away for him to elbow but he did send the man a dirty look.

"We're willing to hand over Shigaraki but we have a few conditions," Dabi had a serious expression on his face now.

"Why are you turning in one of your comrades?" Yagi frowned.

Dabi hesitated, looking at Nezu first before turning his attention to the other heroes. "All For One's recent imprisonment has brought some…new information to light." He gestured towards a couple of notebooks that Nezu was holding.

"According to these files, Shigaraki has been mind controlled and manipulated ever since he was five years old," Nezu explained. "He hasn't been in control of any of his actions."

Aizawa felt a chill race down his spine. The implications of that were unsettling to say the least. He had thought that something was off about the kid but he wouldn't have expected this.

"And from what else we can figure out, Shigaraki was actually born quirkless." Yagi jolted at that but Nezu pressed on. "All For One apparently forced his quirk on him, causing him to kill his entire family then he took the boy in after letting him roam the streets for a few days."

Aizawa couldn't help the overwhelming surge of hatred for All For One that swept over him. What kind of monster forced a deadly quirk on a child and forced him to kill his entire family? A quick glance showed that Hizashi and Yagi felt the same way.

"There's more," Nazu sighed. "Shigaraki's real name is Tenko Shimura."

"Shimura?" Yagi croaked out. "As in Nana Shimura?"

"Her grandson," Nezu confirmed.

"We just found out a few days ago," Dabi sighed. "Apparently when All For One's quirks got cut off it released Shiggy from his control. The poor guy had a nervous breakdown and now he's just been…off. Kurogiri thinks he has brain damage but none of us are healers."

"Which is where we come in," Aizawa said in realization.

"Bingo," Dabi smirked. "You guys have access to medical resources that we don't. Besides, he's not cut out to be a villain. He needs more help than we can give him but like I said, we have a few conditions."

"What are they?" Hizashi was clearly forcing himself to sound normal even though he obviously wanted to find the poor kid and wrap him in a hug. Aizawa couldn't blame him.

"His body is affected if he can't use his quirk so he has to be able to use it every so often."

"Done," Aizawa nodded. He could completely understand, a lot of people's bodies were adversely affected if they didn't use their quirk.

"Kurogiri is kept up to date on his progress. He's been raising Shiggy since he was little, if you don't he'll just pop in and out randomly, maybe kidnap some kids…he'll do what it takes to make sure Shiggy is safe."

Again, not a big deal.

"As long as nobody is harmed I'm sure we can arrange visitation between all of you," Nezu assured him. "It would be unnecessarily cruel to separate you, not after you've gone to all this trouble trying to get him help."

"And he'll get therapy," Aizawa added. "We'll make arrangements for him to see a psychiatrist and get proper treatment."

"No institutions," Dabi said after a moment. "Shiggy won't get better if all he's doing is sitting in a padded room, drooling because he's over medicated."

"He can't roam around without supervision," Aizawa added. "No matter what he's been through he's still a dangerous and unstable individual."

"Ain't that the truth," Dabi muttered under his breath. "The way he is right now? Shiggy has to have constant supervision, we can't leave him alone for long periods of time. He's…he's like a little kid but he's broken."

"He could stay with me," Yagi offered. "I mean, I did know his grandmother."

"No," Dabi didn't even take a second to think. "He hates you, granted it's because he was ordered to but I still don't think you're a good idea. No offense but you're too much."

Aizawa had to swallow back a chuckle even as Yagi pouted. He risked a glance at Hizashi who nodded. "He can stay with us. It would probably work better given my quirk."

Dabi chuckled. "He's a big fan so be forewarned."

"I thought he was mocking me when he said that," Aizawa frowned.

"Nope," Dabi rolled his eyes. "He's got so much fan merch that it's ridiculous. Hell, I've caught Kurogiri sewing up his Eraserhead plushie before."

Aizawa felt his eyebrow twitch even as Yagi and Hizashi started giggling. "I wasn't aware that there were any plushies of me available."

"Not legally," Dabi grinned. "From what I've heard, it was a present from Kurogiri one year."

"Oh I've got to have him make me one," Hizashi grinned.

"Do that and you'll be sleeping on the couch," Aizawa said calmly.

Hizashi pouted.

"I should go," Dabi stood up. "Would tomorrow be okay to drop him off?"

"That should be fine," Nezu held out a paw. "You have my number, just give me a call when you have a time in mind."

Dabi gave a two finger salute then disappeared through a convenient portal that had appeared.

"Oh boy," Aizawa groaned once Dabi had disappeared.
