Work Text:

“Oh! Hey Rey!” Gwynn says as he sees his friend walking by, he stops what he’s doing and comes to greet Reynold, looking at how the other clubs are doing. “Oh hey! You were in Literature?” Reynold asks as he moves closer to the smaller male.

“Yeah! I’m the photographer,” He says as he raises the camera he needs for the booth. “That reminds me, what are you guys doing?” He asks and Gwynn tells him excitedly “It’s a marriage booth!! I take the marriage photos!!” Though he sounds excited, Reynold can see a few melancholy feelings in his expression and in his words.

Reynold takes another step towards him and asks “You wanna let me teach you photography? I took photos for weddings back then since my dad was out, so I know some stuff that can help you,” Gwynn’s eyes sparkled in surprise and joy, he wasn’t the best but a few tips wouldn’t hurt.

“Yes! Thanks a lot!” Gwynn says with a toothy grin, Reynold gets stunned for a bit but then looks away to avoid showing his face. “Ahem! Well then, let’s go to a practice shot. It’s still early so I doubt you guys are starting so early,” He says with his face turned away.

Gwynn calms down a bit and nods, he follows Reynold to a tree centered somewhere in the courtyard. “Now, what you need to do is to rest your camera on your non-dominant hand and rest your dominant hand on the shutter button,” He directs and Gwynn follows, though he seemed to have some issues with steadying the camera on his hand.

Reynold takes note of this and goes behind Gwynn, and suddenly “May I touch you?” Reynold asks, throwing Gwynn off guard and out of focus. He turns to the taller male and looks at him, his face covered in a rosy pink blush.

“What in the WORLD!? WHAT DID HE SAY?!” He thinks, panicking in his mind. He’s never been this close to someone save for his ex, his back touching his chest and their arms brushing each other ever so slightly.

“He does have a good face, his hair is probably breaking some dress code rules,” he thinks. The gentle man behind him with a soft and small smile is trying to help him and it’s working, one way or another. “He looks… nice,”

“Gwynn? You alright?” The boy speaks up making the smaller one flinch and snap out of his train of thought and look at Reynold with panic. “Oh! Uh- yeah! J-just thinking! That’s all…” He says in an embarrassed and hurried form. Reynold raises a brow again and leans closer to Gwynn’s face.

“What are you thinking about?” He asks and Gwynn turns away from Reynold’s gaze, still feeling it behind his head. “N-nothing… You can touch me,” Gwynn says and Reynold nods. Then suddenly…

“Look forward, you can’t see your goal when you don’t look in front of you,” Reynold says, gently grabbing Gwynn’s chin and moving it in front of them while snaking his hands to hold Gwynn’s forearms. Gwynn is already as red as a carnation but Reynold holding him gently like a delicate flower made him weak to his knees.

He tries to redirect his attention to the photography lesson and tries to steady his hand. Though it was nearly impossible for him to focus with Reynold’s breath near his ears. “What you need to do is to pull your elbows into your body, can you do that for me?”

With a face filled with blood rushing to his cheeks, Gwynn does as he was told making Reynold give him a word of praise. Reynold then holds him ever so slightly tighter and says “Now exhale and push the button,” He says and Gwynn does as instructed.

“Good job, you did well,” Reynold says as he looks over to Gwynn and straightens his back. Gwynn stops for a moment to register what just happened. He then looks to the gallery and sees a clear shot of the tree in full bloom. He stares and smiles, suddenly whipping his head towards Reynold.

“This is perfect! Thanks, Rey!” He says as he hugs the teller boy, making him stumble and lean back a bit but regains his balance and slowly tries to reciprocate the hug when Gwynn suddenly pushed back. “I better get going now!”

Gwynn says before speeding towards his booth, “No problem! Just ask me for anything!” He yells and Gwynn turns around to give an affirmative nod. Reynold steps back for a bit and thinks about what he just saw.

“Was that… blush…?”

“I think I’m going to die…” He tells Rena as he tugs her shirt with two fingers, his head down. “Huh? Why’s that?” She asks and tilts her head. “I TOTALLY MADE IT AWKWARD!!” He exclaims and ducks down with his arms around his head. Kiera comes along and looks at the boy with the same confusion Rena has.

“Why are you lying on the floor?” Kiera asks before picking Gwynn up from the ground and Gwynn whines. “Reynold was helping me with some photography stuff but…” Gwynn says, the girls stop what they’re doing and start to darken their faces.

“...Did he do something to you?” Rena says as she and Kiera makes a dark aura that makes everyone else shocked, confused, and unnerved.

“What’s up with them?”

“Is everything alright?”

“Pretty sure a fight’s gonna happen”

Others say and Gwynn tries to calm them down. “No no! I’m alright! He didn’t do anything! He only wanted to help me!” He said but the girls still have displeased looks. Gwynn then sighed and both of the girls saw the small blush on his face “He… Was so close…”

“And..his touch was nice…”

The two girls stand there dumbfounded at what they have heard. Kiera and Rena both suddenly scream at their friend “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?” They scream as Gwynn stands there and tilts his head in confusion.

“What do you guys m…”

Oh… Oh

Gwynn then suddenly shouts back at them “ARE YOU GUYS INSANE?! WE’RE STILL YOUNG WE’D NEVER DO SOMETHING AS CRAZY AS THAT, HAVE YOU GUYS LOST YOUR MINDS?! GET IT OUT OF THE GUTTER!!” He explodes and all three of them stand in shock and disbelief, Gwynn’s face as red as a tomato and Kiera and Rena’s faces as shocked as a mother of a gay son.

“Oh thank god, I was about to scold you for the rest of your life,” Kiera says as she heaves a sigh of relief. “He was holding my arms and he was really gentle with me,” Gwynn continued “You’re digging your own grave buddy,” Rena says with an expression only a mother would love. “You’re not helping!” Gwynn whined as he bows his head down in embarrassment.

“Well, let’s start preparing, shall we? After that embarrassing ordeal, we should have enough energy to move along,” Kiera encourages, and the other two nod and turn their attention to the booth and set up everything. After some time the ticket checkers were ready and the booth was looking good and they were ready to open up shop.

“Picture 16 ready!” Rena says as she hands it out to Gwynn to deliver it to the couple. He does his job and the duo leaves with the picture, giggling and smiling at it. “Y’know you’re doing really good with the camera! You should try being a photographer!” Rena says half-jokingly to tease Gwynn but he shrugged it off by saying “I’m set on being an herbalist Enna, I don’t think I’ll be switching jobs any time soon.”

He then stares in shock to see Kiera and Anila in the marriage booth, “Uhh… You two having a pic?” He asks and Anila sighs “Are you seriously asking that? We came to get our wedding photos,” she says sarcastically but Kiera is looking like a nervous kid near Anila. Both Rena and Gwynn look at each other with a grin on their face. He chuckles and starts setting up the camera. “Well then please prepare properly,” He says

“Well done students! You all did well, the stalls are still open but you can leave early if you want to,” Their club supervisor says as their finish closing the booth and preparing their things. “Well then G, where you headed?” Rena asks him while bumping him on the back lightly with her elbow. “Hmm, probably get some food and go home?” He says and she nods and waves him goodbye. He sighs and turns towards the courtyard.

He walks while admiring the stalls and games they have, booths that definitely made a lot of tickets. He starts to feel lonely, most of his friends are working or have already left so he felt as if he could pack it up and leave. But then…

“Gwynn, you’re still here?” Gwynn hears this from behind him, he turns and sees Reynold with messy hair and widened eyes. “Rey…” He stands there for a bit and Reynold starts moving forward. “Were you…crying?” He says while running up to Gwynn and wiping his cheek, Gwynn didn’t realize that he was crying and starts stuttering.

“O-oh! N-no no no, I was just…” He says trying to look for an excuse to not worry Reynold but he doesn’t listen and starts to worry more. “Are you alright? Did anyone hurt you? Where are your friends-” “I’m fine Rey…” He interrupts as he grabs Reynold’s wrists. Reynold stares for a moment and drops his hands to his shoulders.

“Don’t worry…I just got lonely, that's all…” Gwynn says as he smiles at the taller male. Reynold pulls Gwynn into a hug and holds him tightly. “Don’t… scare me like that…” He says as he closes his eyes. Gwynn’s breath hitches and he smiles. “I won’t I promise,” he says and reciprocates the taller boy’s hug.

“Oh! And I wanted to thank you for helping me with photography back then! Sorry for leaving so suddenly I was just in a hurry,” Gwynn says in a quiet voice. Reynold chuckles and then smiles at the smaller boy’s antics. He then takes out his phone and shakes it in front of Gwynn.

“How about we take a picture together? To solidify the moment?”

He asks and Gwynn pauses, then laughs at Reynold’s actions. He really was a dork in front of his eyes and his eyes only. He asks Reynold to bend down and at that moment Gwynn wraps an arm around Reynold’s neck and they both pose in front of the camera and smile.

Truly, this was a good day.
