This was probably the strangest and one of the worst things that had ever happened to Tony Stark. If you asked him yourself how it happened he’d simply say he didn’t know. He was just working in his lab, and everything went black.
It was a perfectly normal day for Peter Parker, which in its self was very abnormal in itself. He was walking home from school when suddenly his Spidey-Sense warned him that something bad was happening a few blocks behind him. He turned around and heard screams and saw smoke coming from a building far away. Peter began running, found and ally, put on his Spider-Man suit, and then swung away to see what was the matter.
When he finally arrived he looked up to where people were pointing and screaming. It was a flying figure soaring through the skies shooting at people and firing at skyscrapers. It was Iron Man! Peter swung up to talk up to him, “Mr. Stark! What the heck are you doing!?” Tony turned to look at him and replied coldly and in a deeper voice than normal,
“Not now Spider-Brat.” Than shot Peter down with one of his charged beams. Peter hit the ground hard and was a little hurt back by the surprisingly cruel comment from his mentor, but it was then when Peter realized the Iron Man helmet eyes were now red and not their normal calm sky blue. Peter decided to follow him, but at a safe distance to see if he could figure out why Tony had turned evil. Though Tony obviously found out Peter was following him. “Get off my tail!” Tony would say as he sped up to full speed and would zig zag around the whole city. It was hard, but Peter kept Tony in sight.
After a while Peter found that Tony had landed on a roof of an abandoned building. Tony turned to face Peter and let down his mask. “I thought I told you to beat it kid! What’s wrong with you!?” Peter noticed that Tony’s real eyes were also red instead of their normal brown, he than noticed that Tony had a computer chip in his neck! Someone must be controlling him and making him do all these bad things! Peter lunged for him. “You seriously think you can fight me!? Ha!” Tony said while easily blocking Peter and pushing him to the ground.
They continued to fight for a good half hour. Peter was covered in scars and bruises and was pretty sure he had a broken rip or two. He looked his mentor straight in the eye and tackled him. His hand gripped the chip, “Yes!” He said in triumph and then felt so much pain! Peter wanted to scream but had the wind knocked out of him as Tony kicked him to the ground. The force of the kick helped him pull the chip off of Tony. Peter hit the ground hard but felt satisfaction in that he had gotten the chip. He looked down to his chest where the incredibly unbearable pain was coming from. There was a knife in his chest, and he was covered in blood and thew wound was still gushing! Peter fell unconscious from loss of blood.
Tony blinked and realized he was no longer in his lab but on the roof of a building! He looked down and saw that the Iron Man suit he didn’t even remember putting on was covered in blood. Tony knew it wasn’t his blood because he wasn’t hurt. Looked around his surroundings and saw Peter, his precious intern, lying on the ground with a knife in his chest and covered in blood. “F.R.I.D.A.Y.! WHAT HAPPENED!? WHO DID THIS!?”
“It appears that you did this boss.” F.R.I.D.A.Y. said.
“WHAT!? HOW!?” He asked as he held his kid and tried to apply pressure to the enormous wound.
“He has signs of wounds from your charge beams and the knife that in currently in his chest is one of the Iron Man suits many defenses.” The AI explained.
“No no no no NO! Peter! Wake up! PLEASE WAKE UP!” He saw Peter’s eyes barely open.
“Mr. Stark?” He mumbled.
“Yeah. I’m here. I’ve got you. You’re going to be okay. You’re going to be okay.” He kept whispering things like that as he picked Peter up as carefully as he could and flew to the Avengers hospital.
After giving him looking him over and doing surgery to remove the knife, Bruce told Tony he could come back and see Peter. Tony sat in a chair by Peter’s hospital bed and held the unconscious child’s hand. “How long will he be asleep?” Tony asked Bruce while not taking his eyes off Peter.
“Well, that’s kinda the bad news. Since the knife was about a half an inch away from his hear there is a 25% chance that he will wake up and be healed, 25% he’ll remain in a coma for the rest of his life, and a 50% chance that he won’t make it, I’m sorry Tones.” Bruce said. He saw tears run down his friends cheeks and thought it would be best to leave Tony alone for a few minutes.
“Kid please, don’t leave me. I need you.” Tony whispered as he held Peters hand close to his heart.
Nine days later, Tony found that he had not left the hospital since the incident. He spent all day and night waiting at Peter’s side waiting for him to wake up so he could explain that he had never meant to hurt him. One day Tony watched as Peter’s blinked his eyes open. “Peter!” Tony exclaimed with a smile once he realized Peter was awake. Than that smile faded into and started shaking with anxiety, what if Peter wouldn’t want to see him after all that happened? “Listen Pete, I- I never meant to h-hurt you a-and I- I—” Peter cut him off by pulling him into a hug.
“I’m so happy you’re back.” Peter whispered into Tony’s ear. After hugging for a long time they let go and Tony cupped Peter’s head in his hands.
“I’m so happy you’re alive.” Tony said and couldn’t but smiling. His kid was alive! Peter looked at him curiously,
“When was the last time you slept?” He asked with worry and guilt in his voice.
“The last night that you were awake.” Tony confessed with a laugh. Peter looked incredibly worried. “Pete, how was I supposed to sleep when I thought you’d never wake up?” Tony felt tears fall down his checks as he said these words. Peter pulled Tony into another hug and said,
“I love you Mr. Stark.”
“I love you too kid.”
