Work Text:
Hell. Work was hell. The case you were working on with your boss was just too much paperwork and research. It also didn’t help that the client was not cooperating.
This Tuesday evening, when you got home, you sighed at the loneliness. Your sweet husband was on deployment and you weren't sure what day he was coming back, just that he would return this week.
After preparing your simple dinner, you go shower and slip on Bob's Navy sweatshirt. It was the sweatshirt he always wore when it was lazy weekends for the two of you. The scent of sunshine, sea breeze, peppermint and hints of cinnamon lulled you to sleep.
Tears filled your eyes as you woke up the next day with severe cramps and a headache. You got up to change and make breakfast. Before you can think to ask to work from home the morning, your phone rings and you see your boss texted you.
“Hey I have a family emergency! The office is flooded from the upstairs floor’s sprinkler system so we’ll just be working from home for the time being.”
You wanted to cry of joy and that whoever you wanted to thank for this timely message. Those tears became real when you heard your front door opening and the voice of your husband calling out to you. “My beautiful. I’m home!”
Never had you ran as fast as in this moment. Throwing yourself at your husband, you hug and kiss him repeatedly. “I missed you so much Robert!”
“I missed you too beautiful… Now get upstairs and pack a bag. We’re going away. I already talked to your boss. You’re taking a break. So let’s get to packing and let’s get away from the stress for a few days.”
