Work Text:

Ozzy was infamous for his frequent frat parties, hosting one almost every weekend and for almost every occasion on campus. He never wanted his classmates to miss an opportunity where they could be hooking up with their peers and playing rounds and rounds of beer pong.

And everyone would attend these last minute thrown together parties, everyone except Bruce Wayne.

But that night was different. He had gotten into an argument with his ‘situationship’ , otherwise known as Eddie, and either one of them hadn’t contacted the other in over a week now.

Neither one of them was really at fault. They agreed months ago to be fuck buddies, that they would keep their sexual relations on the low and continue to hate each other in public

But the ‘safety’ of just being friends with benefits faded when Ed confessed his feelings for Bruce, mid fuck, just last week.

In the middle of their usual secret midnight ‘meeting’ , Eddie blurted it out. He rambled a confession about how their bonding moments had made him feel closer to Bruce. That he had caught feelings and feels guilty since he knows this wasn’t how it was supposed to go. That they both swore it would never happen.

Bruce froze for a moment (mid thrust) at the news and his face fell immediately. Without another word he pulled out, climbed away, slid his pants up, shoes on, and headed back out Ed’s window and out to his off campus mansion.

After hearing the unexpected confession and the lack of contact the two had following it up, Bruce spent a lot of time thinking over everything between them. Was there anyway he could feel the same? Was Eddie just messing with him like he had the tendency to do? Should they even try to pursue eachother sexually anymore? It was all a mess, and it was
safe the say Bruce needed a release.

So, when the opportunity came for another one of Oz’s spectacular get togethers, he decided he was going to show up.

It was hard at first, convincing himself to go since he didn’t do social gatherings. But after briefly mentioning the idea of him going out to Alfred, his butler almost split his pants jumping to find him an outfit to wear. And Bruce knew better than to turn it down at that point.

———————————————————-

A little after midnight , Bruce found himself in a crowd of bodies. He was surprised at the amount of people who were already there , let alone drunk, and tried to squeeze himself through the tight entrance to find someone he even slightly knew just so he wouldn’t feel like an outcast the whole night.

it wasn’t until a few moments of letting his eyes search over the people in the living area that he noticed a familiar brown head of hair, sitting on the right end of the couch and smiling while in conversation with a man on the arm.

Bruce let out a grunt to himself, rolling his eyes as he tried to move past the sight. He didn’t need to talk to him, he didn’t even need to acknowledge his presence tonight. they were over , at least he assumed they were, and now Bruce didn’t have to worry about his phone annoyingly buzzing at the worst times or about practicing the right angles for late night ‘pictures’. He was a free man (though fuck buddies didn’t really tie you down to much - or wasn’t supposed too) and could go and fuck someone else right then if he wanted too! Who cares about Eddie and the green haired snob talking him up? Certainly not Bruce.

Or so he thought.

He caught himself sneaking one last glance over to the two on the couch, watching over the heads of people in front of him. He observed how Eddie took a sip from his solo cup , a grin forming on his lips the second he pulled it away and swallowed, and how the man seated next to him (slightly higher up) reached his hand down to tilt Eddie’s chin up with his thumb.

The small gesture was enough to make Bruce need to make his presence known. He didn’t wait a second longer, storming over to the other side of the room and placing himself in front of Eddie.

He watched him push his glasses up and move his eyes to see who was standing so close, and once he realized his mouth slightly opened in confusion.

“I thought you didn’t go to parties?” He commented quietly while Bruce’s expression struggled to keep a calm emotion.

“Yeah well, I’m usually too busy fucking your sorry ass to go.” He stated firmly , clenching his jaw when he paused. “Who’s this?” He asked straight out , pointing his finger towards the vibrant man on his left. He looked quite the opposite of Bruce in almost every aspect, it made him wonder what the appeal was for Eddie.

“Oh he’s uh..” Eddie paused , pushing his glasses up and closing his eyes as if he was trying to remember. It was clear he had been drinking with the way his words were slightly slurring but he wasn’t completely gone. “Jack ! From my anatomy class-“ he smiled proudly to himself that he had gotten it, looking over to the boy to make sure he had remembered right before back to Bruce.

“You haven’t called?” He questioned , noticing that Bruce had his mind elsewhere. His eyes followed jacks hand that slid from Eddie’s back to his thigh, resting there as if the gesture was a normal thing.

“Let’s talk somewhere else-“ Bruce suggested to him after a few more seconds of enraged silence. He reached over to grab Eddie by the hood of his jacket and pulled him up, lightly using it to tug Ed along behind him and towards a quieter , more private spot.

Once he found an empty room for the two of them he led him in, letting go and pointing towards the bed for Eddie to sit on while he locked the door behind them. He sent him a glare from the doorway as he studied him, noticing how he seemed more shy than usual. Eddie always had this confident energy around Bruce and by the amount of fidgeting and moving around he was doing it was clear something had changed. he figured it was the alcohol.

“You move on fast-“ Bruce started as he took a step towards the bed

“I’m allowed to get drunk and find a one night stand y’know. After all, isn’t that pretty much all I was to you?” Eddie quietly commented between a hiccup, looking down into his now empty solo cup since he had spilt everything while being tugged along to where he was now, like a dog on a leash.

Bruce rolled his eyes, moving to stand in-front of the smaller boy so he try and read his mind , get him to open up among the silence. Besides, Bruce wasn’t one to talk about his own feelings in the first place.

“Do you think I lied last week? Is that why you’re upset?” He started slowly so his words wouldn’t jumble together, taking a breath. He looked up to the taller male , seemingly getting some confidence back.

Bruce gave the shorter boy a look, “Maybe we shouldn’t start this, you’re drunk..” he tried to get himself out of this conversation , though he was the one who tried to start it.

Eddie quickly cut him off. “Because I didn’t. I have never fucking lied to you Bruce. Read the card I got you for your birthday , or the note I left after you let me spend the night the time I was too tired to walk back to my dorm. Read literally any text I’ve ever sent you Bruce.. or better yet-“ he paused in the midst of his rant , his eyes watering from how upset this was making him. It didn’t help that his senses were off due to the alcohol. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small journal, a question mark etched into the cover. He flipped quickly through the pages for Bruce to see, “read this ! start at the day we met! Or maybe start at the day I first passed by you!” He frantically pulled the page up, the date neatly lining the top line as it did on all the papers in there. “I am infatuated with you Bruce. I always have been. And- and…I don’t just want to be another one of your meaningless fucks that you throw out when you get bored. I want to fill up my entire notebook with you, not just a few pages..” he took another deep breath, feeling slight relief from getting all of that off his chest as he noticed Bruces eyes had softened. He sat himself down next to him on the mattress. There was no trying to backtrack now.

He stared at the page in shock. Nobody had ever written such thoughtful (or borderline stalker) things about him before , let alone ever viewed him that way.

He exhaled, lightly skimming a few pages. He read enough to get the point, unable to find what would seem like the right words to say in response.

He quietly closed the notebook as Ed adjusted his posture, a small hiccup leaving his mouth.

Eddie began once rambling again shortly after giving Bruce enough time to even slightly process what he just learned. “I get it if we’re done with-“

He was cut off abruptly by Bruce’s lips crashing into his. Eddie yelped in surprise, his eyes wide but closing once he got over the initial shock. Bruce lifted his hands to his cheeks and held each side of his face, pulling away after the kiss to look him in the eyes.

“We’re nowhere near done Eddie, your journal still has plenty of space..”

He was a man of few words of course, but this was enough to make Eddie beam and forgive him, leaping into his arms for comfort.
