Check my artworks I made while writing this
-God’s Messenger in form of komainu (lion-dog)
-Couldn’t be seen by people above school age, like all other magical creatures
-Original form was a teenager boy, somehow got himself cursed while looking for a cure to his sister, lost all his power and gets turned into a chibi
-Komainu is not a puppy!
-Gains power by helping people
-A freak for neatness. Expert at houseworks.
-NOT A PUPPY!
-Could be easily bribed with sweets.
-He’ll be able to go back home once his powers get fully restored, but he’ll face a decision of staying or leave by then
-Revenges in favor of Rui, but in the cutest and most harmless way possible (although he thought he’s being a badass)
Rui
-14-15 years old, lonely and depressed af (doesn’t know Nene and hadn't met Mizuki at this point, and didn’t get chance to explore his interest on shows)
-Robot genius and a master artist of irony and black humor
-Couldn’t express feelings for GOD’S SAKE
-Gets bullied at school and is tired of life
-Attempted suicide multiple times but always ended up either interrupted by others or things gone wrong in the most ridiculous way ever
-Wasn’t neglected, his parents love him, they’re just rarely home
-Couldn’t see youkais and spirits until he made that stupid wish
Mizuki
-13-14 years old, also lonely and depressed af
-Natural born psychic, thus gets accused of being a weirdo and was isolated by people
-Could see Tsukasa because of their gift
-Gets to know Rui and Tsukasa on the rooftop when they’re thinking of ending their life and Rui shows up in time with Tsukasa’s cue
-Smiled heartily for the first time in a while after befriending the duo
-Kidnaps Tsukasa twice a week to be their fashion model
-Later develops a crush on Rui and confesses at his graduation, Rui hesitated because he’s not ready for romantic feelings, so Mizuki says it’s okay, I’ll wait until you figure it out
Nene
-An Oni girl who is secretly scouting on Tsukasa, but is too shy to make any actual progress
-Also was partially the reason why Rui always fail on his suicide plans before he meets Tsukasa (she moves stuff around so Rui couldn’t find them)
-She was helped by Rui when he’s younger so now she returns the favor
-I really wanted to add that she fights like a queen but this AU doesn’t involve violence so
Storyline:
-Rui was tired one day (as usual) and he didn’t go back home, but took a turn to a forest instead (he wasn’t actually sure about that, he’s zoning out)
-He found an abandoned shrine so he throws a few coins and pray for “please don’t let people interrupt my attempt this time”
-Indeed no people came.
-A puppy did
-He jumped out of nowhere and got him. Licked all over his face.
-And follows him home.
-And changes his life.
-Rui was confused but slept anyway, thought this might be a dream so doesn’t really care
-He wakes up the second day to an incredibly clean and neat garage. With a proud little Tsukasa sitting and waiting for treats of doing a good job.
-Rui has a mental breakdown (real) for he couldn’t find anything anymore and it scares Tsukasa, but he couldn’t really blame him because he’s too cute
-Now that they finally sit down and introduce themselves, Rui finally believes youkais and spirits are real.
-Imagine a prodigy of technology gets ran over by the fact that magical creatures existed
-And then Tsukasa ran for his life for 15 minutes from getting dissected by him.
-After listening to Rui’s pathetic life he decided he’ll stay in his home and make him happy, so he could gain enough power to return to his original form
Minor characters
Touya
-Was guided home by Tsukasa when he’s young
-Tsukasa likes him a lot and wants to let him know he’s back, so he asks for Rui’s help, requiring him to befriend Touya
Akito
-Kitsune guardian, gets pressured by higher authority to find Tsukasa because Nene’s too shy. Runs into Touya instead (who couldn’t see him)
-Also gets turned into a chibi later on for some reason
-Fears of Tsukasa, even though foxes are technically canine too
Emu
-Couldn’t see spirits and creatures, but could sense them
-Gets into trouble with her family on street and was help by Tsukasa, so she follows him to Rui’s place
