Notes:

I enjoyed watching hospital playlist so much and also enjoyed reading some fanfiction about the main characters. Right now, I am trying to write a story about my favourite couple winter- garden. I can not understand Korean or have great knowledge about their culture so please do not criticize my ignorance.

Chapter 1: Chapter one

Chapter Text

Chapter one

Ahn Jeong Won rubbed his forehead roughly, his headaches returned more violently this time. He spent the last three days in the PICU monitoring the condition of a new born who was subjected to a dangerous surgery. The baby's chance of living even after the procedure of surgery is not that high. Therefore, Jeong Won refused to leave the baby's side preferring to be always available just in case something bad happened.

The PICU nurses exchanged looks of sympathy when they saw how tired and drained the soft-hearted Professor was. They offered him many times to go and have some rest and they will update him with the baby's condition but he refused politely their offers. He only stepped out the PICU to visit the bathroom or have a bite on the cafeteria then he rushed quickly to take his previous post beside his little patient.

The fourth day, the new born's condition became stable and the worried pediatrician finally breathed in relief and permitted to himself to leave the hospital and go to his home. When he opened the door of his shared apartment with his friend Kim Ju wan, he almost cried of frustration. The entire place was in total chaos, many items were thrown here and there. The dirty laundry was too much for the poor laundry basket to carry and the additional articles of clothes were decorating the floor. The dirty dishes were accumulated in a messy heap on the sink and the floor was dirty and greasy.

Jeong Won cursed his friend in his mind and shouted his friend's name loudly to wake him up but unfortunately, he got no answer. Ju wan had left their home to go and visit his girlfriend on her training site. Unfortunately, the meticulous pediatrician could not get any rest within a home this messy.

With heavy heart and tired bones, the poor man started to organize everything and put the tossed items into their rightful places. He started the washing machine to get rid of the dirty clothes. He also wiped the floor until it became shining and spotless. Finally, he cleaned the kitchen and washed the dishes. After two hours of cleaning, swiping, dusting, washing and other chores, Ahn Jeong Win passed away on the big sofa on the living room.

Few hours passed and the poor pediatrician's cell phone rang. He blindly reached for his phone and answered with hoarse voice,

"Hello, this is Ahn Jeong Won, who is calling?" He heard a chuckle from the caller and he tried to chase away the haziness from his head to recognize the identity of the caller.

"Did I wake you up, Jeong-won?" he finally gathered his wits and realized that his friend Song-hwa was the one talking to him. He greeted her sleepily,

"Yes, you waked me up. Is there something important that needs my immediate attention?" he asked worriedly. The female surgeon chuckled once more and replied playfully,

"Are you always this tension and pessimistic? Do not worry, I called to check on you. You seemed dead in your feet when you left the hospital this morning." the sleepy pediatrician shifted on the sofa that he was laying on it and a searing pain suddenly attacked his head. A groan of pain was all what Song-hwa heard from the other line. Immediately, she became concerned and she asked worriedly one more time,

"Are you ok, Jeong-won? Please, answer me." She was only rewarded with another groan of pain then she heard something crashing from the other line and heard no more sounds. The female doctor panicked and jumped to her feet, she grabbed her coat, cell phone and her car keys and rushed out of her office in the hospital. She sped through the busy street as quickly as the traffic permitted for her.

Under quarter of an hour, she was standing in front of the shared apartment of her two friends and rang the bell frantically. She heard no answer from inside, and the fear gripped her heart tightly. She started shouting her friend's name,

"Jeong-won, Jeong-won. Open the damn door," she kicked and smacked the door with all her might. She started to lose hope to find response from her younger friend. She was about to call Ju wan to help her get into his apartment or ask anybody for help to break into her friends' apartment when she finally heard some movement from inside. She pressed her ear on the wooden door to hear more clearly then the door's lock opened and she stood face to face with her tall friend. A gasp escaped her lips when she looked at him closely.

She could only curse on her head about the sorry state that her younger friend was in.

To be continued......
