Work Text:
The devastation he had experienced in that moment was unimaginable. Sometimes it felt as if losing someone was losing fractions of yourself. This time Alatus had lost all of himself. He had poured every ounce of love his heart could ever hold into the hands of him, and yet, he faded away leaving A empty and cold. His heart carried away by V, he could no longer bear even being in the same room as another, leaving the city in preference of the great towering tree that had been V's favorite place to be. Here was where A felt closest to V, like he could almost reach him, pull V's spirit down from the heavens and back to him. Days of trying turned into months that flowed together into years, leaving A forced to accept that V was unreachable, untouchable.
Sometimes, passersby swear they can hear a sweet sorrowful melody floating through the gentle breeze.
