Bratty Boy

Summary:

Bed time in the warm florida boys household

Notes:

Hello! Bee is back!

I’ve taken a break and im sorry for just getting back! Im bringing with me a new series titled

“Gilded Lilys”.

Which is different from what I wrote in my last series.
No! I am not done with the “By Your Side” Series with little Dream, but I’ve been wanting to start one with the roles reversed.

To clear up some things:

Yes; they have nurseries. And yes they still have their ‘normal’ bedrooms but I was thinking the littles would function better with the story if I added in their nurseries. They are upstairs, along with dreams office. While all their big rooms are downstairs.
(If anyone would like a description of the new nurseries I would absolutely love to do a little story about how their nurseries came to be!)

I do Hope you enjoy their nicknames! If anyone is confused:

George: Bean
Sapnap: Button

I tried to incorporate their features to make it less confusing but just know while little those are their names. So (for any reason) they are not little they will be called by George and Sapnap.

Anyways, if you have any questions let me know :)
Otherwise hope you enjoy this series! I’m so exited to be back.

:)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The bright moon strewn down into the living room as it slipped through the open curtains. Draping the moonlight across the living room like a delicate blanket you can’t help but cozy into.

The bright Florida sun sunk below the horizon extra early this evening. Leaving the hallways unfortunate enough to have been left with no windows casted in dark gloomy shadows. Dark chocolate locks stick out from a black beanbag lazily lounged on the floor. Blankets piled on top like a mountain covered in snow.  While a much more independent copper brown haired little boy sat cozied up with his blue switch and stuffed animal, no socks because he’s a stubborn little one; who’s apparently too cool for the extra fabric on his feet.

The boys were unusually quiet. Only gasping or letting out soft giggles when their little character danced funnily across the small screens in their hands. Beans’ nose was a soft red much like his socks that peeked out from under the blankets. The chilly draft doing him no justice as it screamed its cold air right at him.

Beans small fingers messed with a broken part of his black tablet case. Fraying the case, fidgeting absentmindedly as he snuggles into the cushion underneath him.

Papa… Beans’ sweet voice whines across the living room, soft brown eyes peering at the blond from his comfy spot on the floor. Dream was quick to make eye contact with him, setting his phone down into his lap before continuing,

“Yes, Bean?” Green eyes stared into brown before the little boy jerked his body awkwardly to face the older better.

“It’s’ my t’rn on th’ switch!” He whined, his tablet dropping to the floor with a noisy clunk.

Buttons’ eyes flicked up to meet Dreams’ green ones, flicking from his brother and his switch before beginning to whine too.

Button was about to comment, but Dream cut him off. Pushing his legs down into the recliner, a click following as the chair snaps into place under the seat of the couch.

“Actually..” He checks the time on his phone before continuing. “I think it’s bed time, loves.” Dream tells the boys. Listening to them whine pitifully.

Dreams’ fingers brushed over the remote, waiting to find the right button before the television shuts off for the night. The blond stands, knees popping loudly as his limbs stretch out.

His tan hands grasp onto the blanket he laid with, stretching till he found the corners before they were folded into each other, one by one until the blanket met its spot; draped over the back of the couch.

“Boys, it’s well past ten. I do not want two cranky minions in the morning, so yes; it’s bedtime.” Dream states, watching as the two boys grumble unhappily.

Carefully sliding the devises out of the boys hands and placing them onto the counter. He plugged them into their respected ports.

“No!..” Button whines, eyes becoming watery as his legs kick out. Dreams eyes roll slightly, shaking his head as he rounds the corner to the front door.

Dream does his nightly check around the house, double checking the front door, locking things up for the night to protect his little boys. He entered back into the cluttered living room, watching as Button buries his face in the couch cushions, whining loudly enough for Dream to hear his displeasure with the decision.

He carefully hoists the whining boy up from the cozy couch, grabbing his blanket too before turning around and offering his hand to Bean.

The boy gladly takes it, squeezing gently as he stands, his blanket following behind dragging on the slightly dirty floor.

They reach the top of the steps, Beans’ head tapping onto dreams side as he waits for directions.

“We’re gonna brush teeth then time to get tucked in.” Dream says, sliding his hand from Beans’ to ruffle the boys dark brown hair, instead placing his hand on his back to gently guide the boy into the bathroom.

“‘M not t’red papa..” Button whines, Dreams eyes roll slightly. His hand brushing brown curls from the boys eyes, causing him to pout and hide in Dream’s neck in disconnect.

Dreams’ head shakes, placing the boy on the counter. Buttons’ heels click into the cabinets under the sink, eyes dropping down to focus on the floor instead.

Dream holds a pasted toothbrush in front of the boys faces, Bean gladly taking his, scrubbing at his pearly whites, while Button continues his pouting.

“Alright. Well if you want to be bratty, I’ll just brush for you.” Dream speaks, wetting the paste on the brush before holding the toothbrush up to his lips.

Button whines louder, clicking his heels back one last time as his fingers twist tightly into the fabric of Dreams loose shirt. A flicker of sadness washing through his cloudy eyes.

“No’ a brat,” Button murmurs. His lips wavering as his eyes start tearing up. Dream tilts his head gently, a smile gracing his lips as he rolls his eyes playfully.

“I know baby, you’re not a brat.” He kisses the littles cheek, “I’m just joking,” he ruffles Buttons hair carefully.

“Papa ‘m all done,” Bean smiles proudly, placing his toothbrush into the silver holder next to the sink. He rushes out the room before Dream has a chance to say anything.

He shakes his head as he smiles, turning back to a pouty Button.

“Smile big,” Dream speaks, brushing the boys teeth with a little struggle but gets done nonetheless.

Buttons eyes widen as Dream steps slightly away from the boy. His arms shooting outwards for the other, silently pleading to be lifted from the uncomfortable counter.

His wishes are granted as Dream lifts him up, placing the boy onto his hip, silently shutting off the light and grabbing the blanket Bean carelessly left behind.

“Bubbs forgot his blankie, hm?” Dream speaks as they venture down the hallway, filling the silence that bounces off the wall.

Large hands push open the door to Beans nursery, the boy spread out on the decorative purple carpet. His small hands were occupied with one of the many toys scattered around his room, reminding Dream just how much they need to clean the nursery’s.

Dream silently walks over to Beans crib, placing down the tan blanket he forgot in the bathroom before bending down slightly to messy the boys dark brown mop of hair. Button twists around slightly, trying to bed over and grab one of the many toys scattered across the floor in front of him.

Dream let’s button down to the floor, the boys curious hands catching on a few blocks. While Buttons distracted, Dreams hands slide under Beans arms, hoisting him up carefully earning a happy giggle before walking to his drawers.

“What would you like to wear pumpkin?” Dream asks politely, watching as the boys beautiful brown eyes graze over his pajama sets.

It’s not too long till the boys finger points to a dinosaur set, long sleeves and his favorite pair of green socks to go along with it; perfect for the chilly night.

“Perfect, Beany baby.” Dream smiles, placing a kiss to the boys cheek as his hand reaches down to grab the pajamas. He does quick work in changing the boy, sliding the shirt over his head then placing a kiss to his forehead before he’s lifted up again.

“All ready for bed love?.” Dream speaks to the boy, earning a pleasant nod as his hands stim happily.

Dream unlatches the side of the crib, listening as the tracks roll together, allowing access for him to lower Bean down into the crib. He covers the boy with his mountain of blankets, tickling his hands over the boys tummy a few times earning a set of adorable giggles before sliding the side back up, securing the boy in his bed safe and sound.

“I’ll see you in the morning Bean, night night pumpkin.” Dream places a kiss to his adorable face, earning a graceful smile back.

Dream has to pry a block from Buttons fist before the boy is lifted up onto Dreams hip. Button waving silently to his brother as the door closed. The only noise now is the air conditioning shutting on down the long hallway and the tiniest of noises Button lets out.

“Now it’s time for mr. Buttons bedtime, hm?” Dream speaks calmly, running his hand across the boys back gently.

He earns a disconnected head shake in return, his fingers twisting uncomfortably into the back of Dreams large shirt. His feet dangle comfortably on the side of Dreams hip as he’s carried a little further down the hall to his own nursery.

“Let’s pick out your sleepy clothes now, hm?” Dream speaks softly, sliding open Buttons drawer and waiting for the boy to choose which colorful set he’d like.

Button makes no move to even pull his head off of Dreams shoulder, so he pulls out a red and black set. The boy is laid down on the decorative carpet adorning the hardwoods as his clothes are slid on, this time with socks because he knows his baby gets cold.

Buttons hands are quickly reaching to be held again, Dream gladly picking him up and hoisting him onto his hip.

Button is rocked around the room a few times, Dream turning off the light and replacing it with his lava lamp, shooting the colorful colors across the room. He switches on the tiny mobile on over the boys crib as well as sliding down the side of the crib.

Button whines pitifully as he’s laid into his crib, twisting his hips around trying to get back up. His eyes fill with a fresh set of tears, a few falling down his red cheeks. Dream frowns as the little boy saddens, giving in and lifting the boy back into his arms.

The little boys tears stained Dream's shirt as he buried his face, his fingers tightening into the back of his shirt and refusing to let go. Thankfully, he didn't cry for much longer as he calmed easily in Dream's arms.

Papa… Button whines, his eyes closing once more as Dream rocks them around the room.

The little boy is tired, but he just won’t admit it. He wants to be held all night, even if he knows it’s unreasonable. He is his papas’ baby after all.

“You’re okay,” Dream shushes, rubbing his hands down his boys back carefully, soothing the boy even further.

He listens as the boys breathe calms, his eyes blinking extra slowly against his papas neck.

“You ready to lay down now baby?” Dream questions softly, pressing a kiss to Buttons forehead.

The little boy nods slowly. Dream lays him down carefully, tucking the boy in with his blanket and his favorited kitty. A kiss was pressed to the boys head once more before the side of the crib was brought up.

“I’ll see you in the morning pumpkin, sweet dreams Button baby.” Dream whispers softly. Buttons fists rub into his eyes tiredly, stretching absentmindedly as his arms curl into his stuffed kitty.

The boy is out In merely seconds, Dream smiling as he steps out. He walks down the hallway, peeking into Beans nursery as well, and to say the boy was out was an understatement.

He smiles as he walks to his own room.

God he loves them.

Notes:

Hope you all enjoyed the little Bean and Button characters.
