Those Damn Capps

Summary:

Viola reflects, and decides she wants something more.

Notes:

Hello! It's been over a year since I've last published or updated anything. I fell out of writing for The Sims for a while, but I want to get back into it!

What better way than to write for a character that was deleted long before anyone knew about her? I want to inspire people to talk about her and make headcanons about her too!

Work Text:

Ever since her grandparents gave up llama farming, Viola had decided to make it her unofficial hangout whenever she needed to get away from things for a while.

Tonight was one of those nights.

She stumbled through the rotting wooden door, immediately collapsing onto the old makeshift bed she dragged in long ago. Earlier had been a travesty .

It all started at the family restaurant in which she worked alongside her brothers, aunt, and uncle. One of those damn Capps sauntered in. A black haired man with a face that not even his mother could trust. Her aunt Bianca was the one to wait on him, against her better judgment. Everything was alright at first when she was taking his order and brought out a bowl of bread and glass of water for him. It went to hell when he got his order.

Viola couldn't quite remember what exactly was said, but she remembered her eyes snapping up from the customer she had been serving the moment she heard yelling and the shattering of glass. In the middle of it all was that damn Capp and Bianca, looking close to tears. Before Viola could even lift a finger or say a word to ask what happened, her uncle Antonio was already rushing out of the kitchen angrily.

The next few minutes were like a blur– someone got hot soup dumped on their head, there was screaming as Capp and Antonio began to fight, and someone ended up calling the cops on them all. She was in a daze all the way home, and she learned later that it was her brother Mercutio that led her out. Of course, their grandparents were outside and asking what happened. Viola wished she could speak.

Antonio ended up losing his job, of course. She didn't know how Capp got punished, if he got punished at all.

Viola turned over on her side, staring blankly at the stone walls of the old farm silo. She hated this feud with all of her heart. Maybe if things were different, her parents wouldn't have fucking starved trying to find a way to get their branch of the family away from it all.

She remembered how excited they were while they were making plans to move away to Riverblossom Hills. Viola hated it at the time, but now she'd give anything to be there instead of stuck in Veronaville.

Her only chance now was university. Unlike what her family was expecting, she was headed off to Sim State, not Académie. As if she'd be attending a school that the Capps were known to attend! She didn't want to face Romeo's newest interest, Juliette, or that girl's idiotic older brother. She wouldn't ever forgive him for what he did to Mercutio's face after overhearing a private conversation between them at school, leading to all three Monty siblings getting kicked out of that private school. With that, Viola finally understood why no one wanted to hang out with either family anymore.

But she wanted to change all of that this year! Viola no longer wanted to watch life pass her by while everyone fought and fought. In her final year in Veronaville, she wanted to make things count. How, she didn't know quite yet, but she'd figure it out as she carried on.
