Work Text:

As emotionless as Wednesday may seem, she is no stranger to emotions at all. She has felt joy while watching other people struggle, fondness (and annoyance) whenever Pugsley bothers her with useless things, and surprisingly enough she has also felt love with every nickname her father calls her, or with every smile her mother gives her.

This emotion, however, is new, and Wednesday has no idea how to process what she was feeling. Even the Addams heir herself can’t believe that of all the people in the world, Enid Sinclair is the one who makes her feel jealous .

It all started one gloomy afternoon in their shared dorm room at Nevermore, Wednesday has just discovered some new evidence that she was currently sharing with Tyler on a video call, and her annoyingly adorable roommate Enid that was unfortunately sitting right next to her.

“Are you sure?” Enid asks with skepticism in her voice.

Wednesday rolls her eyes in annoyance at the fact that she always has to repeat herself around other people.

“Yes. I heard the Sirens talking about it in the halls yesterday. They swore they saw a strange silhouette hiding on the outskirts of the woods from Bianca’s window.”

The blonde girl raises an eyebrow in amusement at the Addam’s reply, “Were you eavesdropping ?”

“I do not eavesdrop. It’s not my fault that the sirens gossip like they want the entire school to know what they’re talking about.” Wednesday replied, once again annoyed with her roommate.

“So!” Tyler interjects from the laptop perched in front of the two girls before another argument between the roommate escalates and they get distracted yet again. “What’s the plan?”

“Well.” The Addams’ starts, “We need more details, and the only way we’re getting them is by talking to the Sirens” She says with a hint of disgust on her face.

“And how are we supposed to do that?” Enid questions, knowing full well that the Sirens, as talkative as they are, really only talk amongst themselves.

Wednesday hums in acknowledgement at the blonde's concern and says, “The only way to integrate into the Sirens is by…”

She looks as if she’s forcing herself to finish what she was saying, “Getting an attractive individual to grab their attention and entertain their f-flirtations.” She finishes with yet another hint of disgust on her face.

Both Tyler and Enid blink in unison, absolutely bewildered that this ridiculous of a plan actually came from Wednesday Addams herself! A plan so ridiculous that it might actually work, except…

“Um…” Tyler starts,

“Good plan and all Wednesday but, I don’t think the Sirens would even spare me a second glance…” He trails off, glancing at Enid for backup.

The black haired girl tilts her head and furrows her eyebrows in confusion, “Who said anything about you?” she asks, her two companions taken aback.

“ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF?!” Enid shouts in panic questioning, “Cause, I don’t know how to tell you this Willa, but you are weird as shit and the Sirens will definitely not bother talking to you either!”

Wednesday clicks her tongue in annoyance, Enid is really starting to steal Pugsley’s spot as the number one annoying person in her life. “Let me finish.”

The Addams’ looks at Enid and says, “I’m talking about you–”

“–ME?!”  Enid screams out,

“Yes, you–” Wednesday tries to speak, but gets cut off again.

“–I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m a fucking loser! The Sirens will take one look at me and call me pathetic to the face!!” The blonde girl was starting to hyperventilate in panic.

“Keep quiet before I make you.” The black haired girl threatens.

“I have a plan. We’ll spread rumors about your attractive ex-girlfriend back in San Francisco and how she wants you back.” Wednesday finally relays her plan, “The Sirens are sure to take the bait and integrate you to their circle to feed their curiosities.”

“Huh.” Tyler says, “That’s actually a pretty solid plan.”

“Look at me!” says Enid, “Do I look like I have a hot ex girlfriend?!”

“Well, yeah.” The boy shrugs. “Chicks dig puppy-like charms!”

“I. am. not. a. puppy.” The werewolf growls out.

Wednesday dishes out the last few details of her plan before Enid gives her another headache. “Leave it to me. I am rather good with writing fictional settings. I am sure I can make it sound like you’re a modern romeo.”

“Bianca knows I’m a loser, she will never fall for that.” The blonde girl mumbles out.

“Which is why I gave Yoko $200 to take her out on a date.”

Enid pitifully whines out her acceptance as Wednesday internally praises herself for another good plan.

—-------------------------------------------------------—

This was the worst plan Wednesday has ever come up with.

It’s not the fact that her plan didn’t work, it’s the fact that it worked a little too well.

How dare that siren lean her head on Enid’s shoulder! Or how that one pretends to be cold so that she could wrap Enid’s arm around her waist! Or how that other one was biting her lip while maintaining eye contact with the blonde werewolf.

She doesn’t understand why her normally anxious roommate wasn’t even flustered by a bunch of conventionally attractive teenage girls flirting with her. Enid looked like a natural casanova as she entertained innocent flirtations from the Sirens.

Wednesday took a deep breath and reminded herself that this was for the investigation as they needed the information that the Sirens currently had.

Her breath hitched as she watched a red haired siren sit on Enid’s lap and wrap her arms around the blonde’s neck. But Wednesday went absolutely feral when she saw Enid reciprocate by circling her arms around the red head’s waist.

They may have needed the information, but they didn’t need it this bad!

The group of Sirens fell silent as Wednesday approached them with a cold aura surrounding her and the entire courtyard.

“Enid.” She called, “Come.”

Red hair scoffed and attempted to protest, “She’s a little busy here freak–”

“Now, Enid.”

Enid scrambles to stand and drops the Siren sitting on her lap as fast as she could and runs after her roommate, scared out of her mind as she has never seen the black haired girl that furious before.

—-------------------------------------------------------—

Back in their room, Wednesday faces their shared window as Enid comes in after her, shutting the door as she enters.

“Wednesday?” Enid asks.

“Never do that again.” Wednesday demands.

The blonde was so confused, what was she supposed to not do ever again? “Do what?”

The Addams’ girl takes a deep breath and turns around to face her roommate. “Allow other girls to flirt with you.”

Enid’s eyes widen in surprise, and widen even further in realization. Was Wednesday jealous? Hope bloomed in her chest at the slightest hint that the girl she liked might actually like her back.

“Wednesday, are you…?” The werewolf breathes out, scared, but hopeful.

Wednesday blinks once, and then twice. “You make me feel, Enid.”

“You make me feel a lot of things. Annoyed, irritated, disturbed, disgusted...” Enid winces at Wednesday’s bluntness.

“...But you also make me feel warm.” The blonde’s head shoots up and ears perk up, “You are to me what a single candle in a winter night is.”

“Seeing you entertain other girls' advances felt like someone was stabbing my chest, and not the good kind of stabbing either.” Wednesday continues, “I have never felt jealousy before I met you but now that I have, I don’t think I quite like how it feels.”

“Wednesday…” Enid breathes out, she wants to start crying out of happiness but she was pretty sure her roommate would hate that and she was on a roll here! She might actually get a girlfriend by the end of tonight if she keeps her cool.

Stepping closer, the shorter girl places a hand on the blonde’s neck to pull her closer and states, “I suppose the only way to make sure I don’t feel jealous again is to show everyone in this miserable place that you are mine.

“I’ve always been yours.” Enid whispers back, not even bothering to argue about Wednesday’s claim of ownership. Not when her heart already belongs to the black haired girl anyways.

“I think I’ve always been yours as well. Ever since the first time you forced your way into my space.” The werewolf wants to howl out in joy but for once, she was the one who wanted to shut up her roommate. And she thinks there’s a perfect way to stop her from talking.

“Enid–” Wednesday gets cut off by soft lips sliding against her own, gliding against them in a gentle innocent embrace.

If this was how it feels to be kissed by Enid Sinclair then this might be something Wednesday Addams could get used to feeling.
