Chapter Text
Today is the debut of a new detective in town, Amelia H. Watson. Her attire is not much, not appealing as well. And her office is just a small space with her wooden table. She was excited to have cases by the time, whether it's a lost person, stuff or maybe even something Sherlock Holmes himself couldn't solve. Chilling by her office it seems like there was a ring at her door to know if there was someone needing help. Amelia started to straighten up her pose to greet.
"Detective Amelia Watson here, what seems to be the problem?" Amelia politely greeted, "I heard you were a new detective right here in the newspaper" The old lady pointed to a small introduction of Amelia's office and contact number. "I see, what's the case you need?" Amelia happily questioned right away for her first case, "My cat got stuck in a tree, could you young lady help me get her down?" The old lady answered. Amelia felt dead inside but yet was smiling for the old lady, "Sure?".
After Amelia even got the cat down all she received was scratches in her face, it was already tiresome for her to this day. "I'm a detective not a firefighter!" talking to herself to what just happened today walking by and forwarding in her office. She patched herself up and let herself loose in her leather chair when she came back.
The next day,
She wasn't quite busy, no one was coming in. Seems like this place isn't as troublesome as expected, she still hasn't solved any cases at all. Amelia wasn't letting her hopes down by now, not yet. Ring!, the door creaked, Amelia hoped it wasn't the old lady who got her cat stuck on the tree again. It was a man with elegant clothing and had a monocle on his face and staring deeply at Amelia. She started to get nervous but happy to see if she has a new case and her first.
"Detective Amelia Watson, how can I help?" she asked gleefully to the man right In front of her, it seems like he's getting something out of his cloak. "Would you please give this case to.." The Man continued, Amelia pretended she didn't hear it and so on. Few minutes later the Man finally left, Amelia was absolutely shattered after that. She has so much time to give it directly to the detective the Man mentioned, but she wasn't feeling up to it since she felt like nothing but a delivery girl for other detectives. Is she even a detective or the townspeople are joking with her at this point.
Another day passed,
Expected, no one is coming in again. Amelia melted into her chair "C'mon Watson it's just passing 3 days, everything is slow so maybe there's nothing exciting yet" she encouraged herself. a Ring was once again heard, Amelia sat properly again to her chair. It was a little boy, he was crying and holding a small stuffed bear, Amelia was quite a bit shocked, "Hey there fella? Is there something wrong?" Amelia asked, "I lost my mommy on the road, can you please help me find her?" The boy sniffed. Amelia felt pity for the boy and so helped.
She can't take it anymore, She isn't a firefighter, She's definitely not a Delivery girl, nor a Police, well maybe a associate but that wasn't her job. She's a detective solving cases not any of those, she then closed down her office and walked to the other side of the place which is her bedroom and her stuff. Plopped down the bed, Amelia took a rest to whatever is happening here. " One day, just one day ill have a case in my hands", she hoped.
A week passed,
The detective felt hopeless, 10 days of nothing, she even saw other detectives passing by on her absolutely seen glass window solving something. Amelia is mentally tired from all of this and just asked for one thing: A Case.
"Another day to this lone, same, shitty office. No cases at all, Hanging around here is making my head get insane any moment, it's absolutely ticking me off. There's no hope for me in this little office of mine, There's not even a single soul coming in''. The hopeless detective said to her mind. Chin was at the table having no thoughts at all and kept on waiting.
But one thing catches her attention, the file that the man gave her to deliver. "I mean, one look couldn't hurt right?" Out of curiosity, Amelia stood up and she grabbed the envelope from her file logs, and boy it is a thick one. After opening the file which was so heavy that Amelia needed to put it just on the table, it was a case of scratches and stuff, it piqued Amelia's interest to look further. There was a strange shadowy figure, with a fish tail?, there was more and something written out.
All that Amelia could ever read was, "Shark" in the files, nothing more. It seems scratched but not like cats or whatsoever. Amelia decided to solve this one, but she thinks that's illegal but she has no idea. She never heard the detective's name nor address so she'll be taking this one, and so Detective Amelia is on her way with her first ever case. She called it a Fishy Case, ironic isn't it.
Midnight has fallen, it was raining, the first location she headed was where the first appearance of the mysterious creature. A warehouse with all the fishes is stored. She doubted it at first since she hates the smell but she cannot lose this opportunity right in front of her, "It's now or never..". Amelia then got herself inside it and gods it smells terribly fish, she pulled out her pistol just in case when something strikes and attacks her.
She heard chewing, a hint of iron then came through Amelia it was a smell of blood. She knew that the workers shift was over and so she approached where the sound was coming from; Her breathing became steadier and heard flesh getting ripped out, she gulped and approached. Then there was a girl, sitting and eating fish, Amelia lowered her gun and tried not to make her presence known to her.
She observed the girl, white silver hair with hues of blues on some tips, razor-sharp teeth and a fish? no no no, Shark tail on the back of her swaying left and right, her clothes are ragged, her fingernails seems sharp, and such ocean blue eyes. Amelia wrote it all down to her notepad and carefully left, but she then fell down.
Her shoe laces wasn't tied properly, "Shit.." she whispered to herself. The shark girl was then startled by the sound and tried finding it from where it came from, Amelia stood up quickly and hide herself from the barrels, it's making her sick from smelling the dead fish around her, the girl took on finding a scent: Lemons. It was a nice scent that the girl later on kept on smelling till she was lead to the barrels, Amelia was nervous as she was about to get found out, she took out her pistol and shot above, she thought that it would scare the shark girl and it did.
She heard someone running out like a whining dog must be the creature, Amelia then let herself loosen down. Such a sight to see that only her have seen, maybe not just her since some people have been attacked, she's aware that she might be dangerous but one day she'll be a known detective and not just a person who does shit.
Few days have passed, she was cooping herself up from her office a lot more about the cases of the shark girl. The information from the cases were helpful but some of them are not, Amelia was also searching stuff up like Shark tailed people but it's always no results, it's expected since this was the first sighting of the one to be on record. It's quite unusual how she has never heard this case, has it always been kept hidden? It's a shark girl after all so maybe it's hidden from the authorities, most of the people died and some lived.
She noticed something more, they weren't bitten nor actually scratched, the bites looked more human than shark teeth, and the scratches definitely weren't from her nails. Ever since Amelia encountered her she noticed things more than her appearance. Her nails definitely doesn't look like easy to murder with, it's like can create just few deep scratches, the scratches shown here was in fine cuts and doesn't have the same depth.
Amelia's mind has really got hooked up into this, it was like they were framing the shark girl and other than that, these are potential murders than the shark girl could ever do. It's a complicated mess into this case that she has ever been to and her first, maybe she hoped to see the shark girl once again. Amelia felt satisfied and tired.
As she was headed to her bedroom she noticed something, a book of some writings on it. Maybe the pass owner left this book, she blew away all the dust and there stood out its name,
Mythical Creatures.
The writer was unknown and Amelia searched everywhere, she plopped down to her bed and randomly opened up on a random page.
It was about Atlanteans. They have underwater animalistic features or basically they're the animals themselves. The drawings seem to be drawn by the author of this book, but there then stood out the most that Amelia has set her eyes while reading the page from the Atlanteans. "
Gawr Gura
" The Lost Atlantean, A small girl with shark features and hair that defines as the color of the moon itself, she wields a trident by the form of water, She's still out there in land possibly has no intention of coming back to where she was from, the age of around 9000+. The part of it made Amelia question it, as she then took her notepad for comparison.
She figured maybe that the shark girl she saw was the girl that was mentioned in this book, as she flipped a page out it was a drawn visualization of the shark girl. " Is it really her? " Amelia was astonished by this thought and discovery, she flipped more pages and it was some kind of diary, the author seems to be able to talk with the shark girl wait, Gura.
She didn't expect such a book to be so helpful from out of nowhere that she just recently had found, She decided to go out of her office and take her search to find Gura once again. Amelia was sure that maybe she can try talking the things out with this shark girl she encountered and so on. Amelia turned off the lights, put the book aside and slept.
Morning came,
Amelia decided to open up the office, and waited. She was peacefully drinking tea while reading the newspaper, Ring. How long has Amelia ever heard her bell's sound from over her door? She sat up straight and was ready to greet like she was some professional who solved a lot. She got her eyes closed for the moment, "Detective Amelia Watson, how could i help yo-" As Amelia opened her eyes she was shocked to see The Shark girl to be right in front of her standing. Amelia was lost in words and thoughts has been attacking her
The girl's tail was so badly hidden that even a child could see it, but it seems like the Shark girl wanted to say something but her tongue was stumbling over her. She was still wearing the same ragged clothes from where Amelia had seen, "Why are you here?" Amelia rambled, the shark girl heard and smiled, Amelia's face started heating up all of the sudden and got butterflies all over her stomach.
"Oh i followed the smell of Lemons and it leaded me here to you, I'm Gawr Gura pleasured to meet you" The Shark Girl answered
