The Regrators day at work always ended late. Sometimes he didn't return home for a few days, just to go back home for 1 night and go back to work the next morning. The work as the Nr. 9 of the Fatui Harbingers wasn't easy.
Even a man of his wealth couldn't afford a break. The proper functioning of the Northland Bank laid on his shoulders. But this time... He felt like a break was well deserved.
He arrived back home, in Liyue, while the lights of Liyue started to light up the dark of the night. After arriving in his beautiful house at the suburb of Liyue Harbor he carefully entered the building without making any sound, just to not alert the people inside.
Slowly he took off his shoes and coat and made his way around the house to find the other residents.
Once he peaked inside the living room he found his wife and their daughter, 5 year old, playing on the carpet.
The woman was in an advanced pregnancy with their next child. Still, the entire time she didn't mind staying alone with the kids for days on end, very much aware that their new baby may arrive soon without her husband on the side. He did feel bad abandoning her in this moment, but she assured him she doesn't mind. His work is important after all, and that's what brings them wealth and safety.
"Mommy, will Daddy come back soon? I miss him..." whined the little girl while playing with her dolls. "You know honey that Daddy's work is tough. I know he misses you a lot as well."
Pantalone couldn't do otherwise but enter the room right now. "Well, I sure did.." said the Man.
The little girl jumped up from the carpet, dropping her toys and running up to her father.
"DADDYY!!" She squealed and hugged him.
Pantalone picked her up and returned the hug.
His wife carefully got up from the carpet and got closer to them. "You should have said you are coming, I Don't think we got anything prepared for dinner-" said the woman and looked slightly worried yet also releaved that he is doing well.
"Don't worry for now, I'm not hungry." Smiled the man and put his daughter down. He pulled his wife into a soft kiss that she gladly returned. He missed her so much, he knew it's not good to leave her alone like this, but he couldn't just leave his job. She accepted it but... He could always do better.
"How long are you going to be home?" Asked the woman after pulling away from the kiss.
"Well.. I will stay for a few days at least." Answered The Regrator and slightly stroked her stomach. "Really?! I'm so glad to have you back..." smiled his wife at the news and the gentle touch. She left the baby kick and had to giggle. "Seems like he's glad to hear you too.." [y/n] looked down at her belly.
"I'm sorry that I have to leave you like this, but ever since Signora AND Balladeer are gone we have so much more to do.." he always told her about his work. He never kept anything a secret. She was very much aware of what the Fatui does, but she didn't mind. It was scary at times, yes, but.. It keeps their family safe. Her husband was a very important individual, and she was glad someone as common as her was able to marry him. Maybe because he wasn't born into wealth and created his "empire" himself he knew to value people of the lower class.
"That's absolutely fine, don't worry about me." Answered [y/n] and stroked his cheek.
"I can't believe you actually let it slide so easily..." he sat down with her on the couch and pulled her closer towards him.
"What do you mean? You are doing such am important Job that I can't expect you to be home all the time. It's not something you can do from home. And I am okay with it. Would I still be here and birth your children if I wasn't ok with it?" Smiled the woman and took his hand in hers.
The man couldn't do otherwise but return the embrace. "You're right.. And I am glad you still are here for me. I wouldn't replace it for anything else.." confessed Pantalone and gave her another kiss.
"What did you do the recent days?" He asked his wife. "Well, my parents were over and took care of some stuff, I was at the doctor. He said we should expect the baby in the next 2 weeks." She told him about anything he missed out on. He was very glad their baby will be here soon, all healthy..
In that time their daughter got on the couch and snuggled in between her parents, during her moms entire talking she fell asleep very fast.
"Well, how was work?" Asked [Y/N] and looked at her husband. "Well, it's an utter chaos. With Signora dead and Balladeer with 2 gnoses on the run it's a lot of work. Money goes everywhere, Dottore is currently in Sumeru, everyone else is scattered somewhere too and... Ughh it's really stressful. I am so glad I can be home for now..." he told her of his time at work. His wife was the only person he could talk with like this. Having her was such a blessing..
"Well, we will make sure your time home will be as relaxing as possible. Maybe it will be so relaxing I will give birth" giggled the woman. He would sure love to be on her side when she gives birth. Hold her hand, try to comfort her, be there when their son gets born..
Being the 9th of the 11 Fatui Harbingers may make him an evil person. But even with that, being a father and husband isn't something he's bad at...
