Blue can be a vibrant color. When you stare into a field of daisies, flowing in the wind. As you walk through the winding twist of flowers, as you let yourself go.
Blue can be a blinding color. When you stare into a cascading waterfall, it illuminates the surroundings in a glorious shimmer. As you fill with euphoria, as you fall into peace.
Blue can be a dull color. When you stare into the endless empty sky, stretching through the world. As you lose the drive to keep going, as you lose yourself.
But you, my love, managed to hold every blue captive in your eyes. The vibrant, the blinding, the dull. The happy, the bliss, the empty.
You stole me away, taking me from everything I feared, until the only worry I had was losing you. You flew me away, taking me to another land, a place of freedom. We built our life, us alone, built our castle in the skies.
We soared. Higher, higher, higher. We left the pain, the despair, the tragedy, we left it all behind. You built my safe haven piece by piece, built it from the ground up. With you by my side, we were free. We were saved.
You saved me.
Until you left me.
Until they took you from me.
I had what I always wanted, what I always needed. Your love. Your love saved me, yet you left me here alone with it. You gave me your heart, only to take mine away. I have what you were, what we could have been, but I’m missing you.
So tell me, my dear, should I join you? Should I let them take me to you? What I have left of you– the love, the admiration, the adoration– makes the pleasure of your warmth dissipate. Takes the warmth and freezes it over.
