You and Jim were biking to school. Toby didn't want to be late for the fourth time this week so he went ahead without the two of you. Jim recommend to use the canal to get there faster.
"Sorry I couldn't meet up with ya before school yesterday. Parents, ya know how it goes."
"Tobes and I were running way late yesterday anyways so it's...wait- did you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"James. Iparith."
"Okay. Okay, I heard it that time."
Jim walked over to a heap of broken rocks and knelt down, "How did this pile of rocks know my name?" He started digging through until a light caught his eye, "Whoa, Ip. What's that?" You knelt next to him and looked at the thing, "How should I know?" Jim was just starting at it.
"James."
You gave him a little nudge, "You should touch it."
"What? No. Not doing that."
"Then I'll touch it."
"IP. NO."
"EITHER YOU GRAB THE GLOWING BLUE THING OR I WILL."
"FINE."
"FINE! Ha! you said you'd touch it."
Jim slowly reached to grab the blue thing. He was going to slowly for your liking, so you grabbed his hand and made him make contact with it. Jim gave a little yelp in response. You let go of Jim's hand after he fully grabbed it. He brought it close to his face and squinted.
"What is it?"
The bell shrieked.
"COME ON JIMMY WE GOTTA GO." You yanked him back to his feet and hopped back on your bike. Jim fumbled to shove it in his bag but followed close after you.
You got into class just as the teacher was taking attendance. Hopefully Jim got to his class in time as well.
