Summary:

Notes:

prompt - ‘’I did something bad…’’

Work Text:

I did something bad, Halley realized as Ginny’s hair streamed behind her like a banner.

“I did it!” She whooped with joy, punching a fist in the air. “Look at that – a near-perfect Wronski Feint!” She turned to beam at Halley, and the full force was like staring at the sun for the first time in several dark months. “Aren’t you going to congratulate me, captain?”

Suddenly, Halley felt clumsy on her broom. She readjusted her grip, her mouth somehow dry. The image of Ginny’s dazzling smile and bright hair burned into her eyes, something that she would never be able to shake. “I…I…yeah. You were brilliant.”

Absolutely brilliant! whispered a small voice in her mind. Please profess your undying love for me!

Ginny threw her long hair over her shoulder. Her cheeks were pink, brown eyes almost glittering with joy. “Think I can do it again?”

“We can practice as long as you need,” Halley rasped, thinking about how much she wanted to run her fingers through Ginny’s soft-looking hair. This is a bad idea. A terrible idea! You’re supposed to be her captain, not some pining fool–

“Halley?”

Halley blinked several times, banishing the fantasy of easily reaching over and kissing Ginny squarely on the mouth. “Right, uh, let’s try the Dyatlov Shot next.”
