"[Injecting core_deactivation procedures. Nighty night, {Insert Subject Name Here}]
"Wh.. huh..." Grady blinked, his lids suddenly heavy. That's weird... He'd just had the wrath of a bull that's been pissed off once too much. He was dead set on murdering that bastard GLaDOS for what she'd done to Wheatley. He was fully corrupt now, slowly losing himself again. He couldn't rest with her alive!!!
"where's my love... where's Wheatley..." But, somehow, this complicit maniac had put out the fire in his heart. He was more than content to rest now...
[Supervisor Core shutting down indefinitely.]
Grady felt himself fall asleep. He was surprised at just how much he needed the rest after everything that had happened. He'd been forcing himself to stay awake for so long. He couldn't miss a second of anything that would happen. He couldn't just relax. He saw where that got him last time...
No, that's different. He was actually resting now. Relaxing. Truly relaxing, not with some heavy drugs or ignoring his problems.
He finally decided to look at his surroundings. All he could see for miles was a field of dandelions. 'Sure takes me back.'
"There you are!" Grady turned around, shocked to find someone there with him. "Wheatley?"
He was floating there with him, unbound by management rails. He pushed himself over to him. "It's a beautiful day, huh? Gorgeous..." Wheatley held one of the fuzzy white flowers with his lower handle.
"I could make a wish, but I've got everything I need here." The two stared into each other's optics, and Grady felt his heart lift.
"If I have you, we can face any problems together. Just like you told me."
He couldn't fight back tears as Wheatley spoke. "It's not been easy, and it won't be. But it's high time we stopped running from it, love."
Wheatley caressed him with his handles, sending Grady's arm around him in return. "We'll be alright someday."
He wanted to stay here forever. He wanted to stay with the man he loved with him willing to face his problems uncorrupted. He wanted to be at peace away from Aperture and all the chaos that goes on there. He wanted to be free of his worries, his sorrows, his addiction, like he was now. He wanted to face the world with Wheatley, both with a clear mind.
"I love you, Grady."
[Initiating "Wakey Wakey" protocol.]
He felt his dream fade.
[Rise and shine, {Insert Subject Name Here}]
He slowly blinked open his optic. The memories flooded back to Grady of what was happening at the moment. Or rather, what was happening 30 minutes ago at this point.
He knew Wheatley wouldn't likely listen to him anymore, but after his dream, he felt a new hope surge into him.
'What's the point,' he had asked himself before. He didn't have an answer then. But right now, it was staring him in the face. Quite literally.
"Gr- Grady?! Are you... alright?!"
He felt his "chest" soften at the sight. Although times were quite dire right now, all he could think about was Wheatley. No matter what happened, Grady would try his damn best to work with Wheatley and face their issues together.
Things were never going to be perfect, but there's always a reason to keep going.
'What's the point?' He'd asked himself again. He knew the answer now.
It was his love.
