Chapter Text
Ash Ketchum the Alolan Region Champion is now recognised as the 2nd strongest trainer. He had just defeated Cynthia. Lucario is still standing, Garchomp is not, securing the fact in his eyes that he did, indeed win his match against Cynthia.
Ash did not know how to feel about his victory, Ash felt pride at the start, then dread. He felt so much pressure from the fact that he is facing Leon next. So many people have expected him to be the one to end Leon's winning streak after they saw his amazing battle strategies and tactics from his battles in the master's 8.
Since he won the match, he was interviewed in public with Leon about their upcoming exciting match.
People had many questions for Ash which involved questions like:
“Do you have a plan against Leon?”
“Are you going to create more amazing strategies to amaze us?”
“How long does it take for you to master such tactics with your pokemon?”
“Did someone teach you how to battle?”
Ash never liked those questions, he never had an answer to them. He knows about the criticism he would face if he admitted to never planning his matches, he knew about people not going to take his word about how he plans his ideas last minute or about how he did not train under a trainer the entire time and how his skill was developed due to his important journey.
The public will never be satisfied with those answers. It is not satisfying enough.
So instead, he shrugs it off, stating that his journey had helped him to shape the person he was. Not that it was a lie, cause it really was not a lie. It is just that he knows the more specific answer will gain people being doubtful of his statements no matter how true and genuine he says it in camera.
After the interview, he said his goodbyes to the crowd and Leon and left to the pokecenter to get some sleep. Lucario, Gengar, Dragonite, Dracofish and Sir fetched were still badly injured after their battle against the Sinnoh Champion so he decided to leave them at the pokecenter.
Normally Ash would stay behind with Goh, eating dinner and talking about how excited he is to meet more strong trainers. Goh even offer to pay for their meal for the dinner as Ash deserved it!
However. Ash refused. He wanted to go outside with Pikachu to just face the reality of where he was now. Goh hearing the worry in his voice understood and told him to stay safe outside and to make sure to come back.
Ash still did not know how to feel about his win and was unable to conclude his emotions. After all he had just beaten Cynthia! The woman who several strong trainers looked up to and considered the one to end Leon's win streak.
Just when he was in the middle of his thoughts, a bright light had appeared from the corner of his eye.
Then he saw nothing, but void and a bright light talking to him. Ash, was not scared. He is not scared. He had Pikachu in his arms. The voice spoke of a mission. Ash. only could catch the words before everything became a blur, the only reason he was not freaking out was because he could feel a warm like being in his arms. He could feel his soft yellow fur in his hands.
Then his mind went blank.
In the Hisui Region.
Professor Laventon, a member of the Galaxy team, had always loved to observe Pokemon and wished to study them to complete his notes on Pokemon. He wishes to call his complete research the 'Pokedex' but had lacked the ability to journey out in the wild to take notes of the Pokemon himself. It is not like he was the only one who was quite cautious of Pokemon, with the people of Jubilife village taking caution of the world outside filled with wild Pokemon as only a few villagers had their own Pokemon.
How could he complete his own study of Pokemon, if he himself was scared of the raging alpha Pokemon that roamed the land. How. How could he complete his life's work if he cannot even battle with Pokemon in order to keep himself safe. It is quite unfortunate... really it was.
He was aware of the giant rift that appeared from the sky. After all one of the wardens in the Pearl clan had appeared dropping off the sky out of nowhere. He only remembered the fear and distrust everyone felt towards the mysterious figure. Afterall he wore such strange clothing and did only remember his name. It took months for people to feel comfortable around the stranger, and since someone fell from the sky, chief Kamado had informed the villagers that did not have Pokemon that they should not leave Jubilife village as often as they did as before, out of fear of more unknown mysterious people appearing.
Out of his frustration, the professor decided to leave the city to go to the nearby beach despite the chief's advice. That beach did not have as much aggressive Pokemon and if he leave them alone, he would be able to come back to Jubilife village in one piece. So he walked out of the gate of Jubilife village, taking note of the calm wind brushing against his lab coat.
He smiled, it was nice to get out of the lab every once in a while, just because he was scared of getting hurt by Pokemon. No matter how many times he tells everyone about how interesting Pokemon are, everyone still seemed at unease. People who had Pokemon were either guards, roaming travelers around the village or a part of the survey corps.
As he reached the beach, he was able to breathe in the amazing sea air that helped him to clear his thoughts.
Maybe he is never going to be able to finish his biggest goal...
Maybe he was being stupid.
Maybe he will never be able to accomplish his possible greatest achievement.
Mayb- wait what was that in the sky.
The professor squinted at the sky with a rift to see a boy, falling out of it. He was so startled that he jumped out of his trance and got out of the way where the falling body was going. There was a big thud and a big thick cloud of sand that emerged from the impact that the boy and the ground faced. As Laventon opened his eyes again to focus on the boy, he focused on the boys features.
He was a dark black hair boy with tan skin, he had some distinctive bolt looking birthmarks on his cheeks. The boy also wore a white shirt with bright blue pants which did not fit with the clothing style in Jubilife village or any clan he remembered. The boy's chest was going up and down, showing that he was still alive and breathing.
That was not the only thing that attracted his attention as he noticed a ball of yellow fur that the boy was clutching on so tight. The ball of yellow fur showed features of a pikachu, with the tail being straight, showing that the pikachu was a male one. The boy and pikachu were hugging eachother tightly, giving the impression that the pikachu and the boy were very close.
The professor was at awe. Even villagers who had Pokemon would not trust any Pokemon to come near them when they are sleeping or knocked out. It is simply to dangerous and Pokemon were extremely too dangerous to be so close to. So why was this boy so comfortable with this pikachu?
The professor was quite curious about it. After all it was strange for people and Pokemon to just appear suddenly falling off the sky. He wished to ask questions to the two of them as soon as they woke up. He would want to bring him home to the village, but he did not have the required strength needed to carry the two figures, so he decided to try to wake up the boy or his pikachu.
“Wake up”
“Oh... Do wake up, won't you?”
Seeing as the boy did not wake up from his words, he decided to stay by the boy's side until he woke up to see if he could get some answers off him about who he was and why he was falling off the side if he did not have Amnesia like one of the wardens from the Pearl Clan.
The boy and pikachu did not wake up within the hours he was waiting.
He waited for so long that the chief had sent the guards of Jubilife village to check up on their one and only professor. After all it was unusual for the professor to be gone for such long hours by himself.
“Professor, The Chief, Captain and Rei has been so worried you have been gone for several hours and - wait who is that?”
“I don't know... remember how we found the one of the wardens of the pearl clan, it appears the boy originates from the rift that has emerged the past few months.”
“What shall we do with the boy?” the guard asked curiously
The professor, took time to think about what to say next. He knew that they did not know the origin of the people who fell from the mysterious rift, and that people felt extreme discomfort seeing people show up with foreign materials that they have never seen, even from further away regions. He knew that the guards would have left the boy on the sand as he is not the village's issues. However, deep inside his heart, he knew that he should not leave the unprotected boy alone, after all he was just a young boy, it is not right to leave him alone in the sand.
“If you would not mind, I would like to ask for some assistance to bring the boy and his pikachu back to Jubilife village to my home, I wish to ask him questions when he wakes up from the injury he has sustained from falling off the sky. I promise to keep an eye on him to make sure he does not cause any problems under my care”
“Okay Professor, you should report this to Captain Cyllene and Chief as this is the second time we have seen someone fall off the sky from the mysterious rift”
The professor is not so willing to inform the Captain and Chief about the boy as they are extremely cautious about people who are not familiar with their culture, but he did not want to cause any future issues and muttered under his breathe.
“Alright.”
