Work Text:

Jungkook punched in the code for the door, relieved to be home again. Qatar was nice but it had also been a full schedule with minimal rest. As soon as Jungkook opened the door he could hear it, music. It wasn't playing loudly but softly. Jungkook smiled as he shut the door behind him quietly.

Jungkook was still smiling as he set his blue bag down on the floor and slipped out of his shoes into his slippers. Jungkook padded down the hallway out into the living room and still treading quietly came to a stop at the opening of the kitchen and grinned at the sight he was met with.

Jimin was at the kitchen sink humming and swaying along to the music playing in the background from his phone that was nestled into the speaker dock as he washed dishes. Jungkook folded his arms against his chest, his heart pitter pattering in it like it always did when he saw Jimin engage in his long-time habit as he washed dishes.

Jungkook listened to Jimin humming as he rinsed the cup of its suds before he placed it on the drying mat. Jungkook continued to watch Jimin becoming more endeared by the second as Jimin's humming turned to singing. Jungkook loved listening to Jimin sing. It was one of the many things he loved about Jimin.

Jungkook, unable to hold himself back anymore, Jimin, too absorbed in his washing and singing to notice him, pushed off the door frame where he had leaned against it while he admired Jimin. Jungkook closed the few feet distance between himself and Jimin and wrapped his arms around Jimin's waist and hooked his chin over Jimin's shoulder.

"Jimin-ssi." Jungkook said lowly into Jimin's ear.

"Jungkook-ssi." Jimin countered playfully as he leaned back into Jungkook still swaying along to the music as he rinsed the plate he'd been washing off.

Jungkook let out a laugh at Jimin's jest. Jungkook loved how playful Jimin was when it was just the two of them. Jungkook leaned to the side and pressed a kiss into Jimin's cheek before hooking his chin over his shoulder again.

Jungkook waited patiently, letting himself be swayed by Jimin while he finished the dishes. Jungkook let his eyes fall shut as he listened to Jimin sing softly along to Off My Face by Justin Bieber. As soon as Jungkook heard Jimin turn the water off Jungkook opened his eyes. Jungkook lifted his head from his perch on Jimin's shoulder and spun Jimin to face him. Jungkook smiled as he heard Jimin giggle at being spun in a circle. Jimin was still giggling softly as Jungkook grabbed his hand with his while his other wrapped around his waist hand resting at his lower back. Jimin smiled his favorite smile up at him, his eyes disappearing into crescents as Jungkook danced them away from the sink and into the empty space where they had yet to place a kitchen table.

"Do you remember when we danced like this for the first time?" Jungkook asked Jimin even though he knew he did.

Jimin hummed in response, "you were so flustered."

"I was not." Jungkook defended.

"Whatever you need to tell yourself baby." Jimin teased.

Jungkook rolled his eyes with a tsk wanting to continue to argue that he wasn't but who was he kidding he had been beyond flustered that day on the set of shooting their 5th muster, magic shop when Jimin just started dancing with him in the middle of everyone.

"It was cute." Jimin grinned up at Jungkook.

Jungkook smiled at the memory and Jimin all at once as he removed his hand from Jimin's lower back and spun him outward Jimin's arm extending away from his body before Jungkook pulled Jimin back into a turn to come back to him. Jimin laughed all the while. Jungkook felt his nose scrunch up with how widely he was smiling. He had missed Jimin even though they had only been apart for a few days. Jungkook leaned downward and pressed his lips into Jimin's.

"I missed you." Jungkook spoke a kiss following each word into Jimin's lips.

"I missed you too." Jimin spoke as he returned Jungkook's kisses.

Jungkook leaned back upward thinking about how the last time they had danced like this besides being flustered he had been Jimin's height. Now he was taller than Jimin. It was one of the things he had always liked. Jimin being smaller than him. He liked how Jimin fit against him so perfectly like he did now Jimin tucked under his chin as they slowly danced to the next song that came on Jimin's playlist, 17 by Pink Sweat$. Jungkook began to sing along to the song quietly.

"So, promise you'll never change, and I'll always be the same."

He felt Jimin's hold on him tighten in response. Jungkook kept singing and when he knew it was coming lifted his cheek that lay against Jimin's hair and looked down tilting Jimin's face up making sure he met his eyes before he sang the next lines of the song.

"I can see a thousand years when I'm looking in your eyes."

Jungkook watched Jimin's eyes glisten as he continued to serenade him, wiping a stray tear away as they danced in their small circle in the kitchen. It was perfect. It was always perfect with Jimin. Jungkook could have nothing at all and knew that if he had Jimin he would want for nothing and would be okay.

Jungkook could spend a thousand nights right here in this room dancing in the kitchen. Jungkook wanted to always end up dancing in this kitchen with Jimin.
