It should have been just a normal day. Disaster protocol after an apartment fire, but of course, the building had to start coming down too. And Katsuki was stuck on triage since his quirk wasn’t exactly built for this sort of thing.
“Dynamight, please deal with this!” Uravity’s voice called from the building, leading a hysterical woman out of the building. She was screaming and crying and refusing to move anywhere - Uraraka was practically carrying her. He jogged over and took over, carrying the woman away from the building.
“Hello ma’am.” He said softly, trying to calm her. “I’m Pro Her Dynamight, you’re safe now.” He said, setting her down gently and kneeling next to her. “If you would try to take some deep breath with me I can get your name.” He said.
She shook her head and covered her face with her hands, still breathing heavily. He glanced behind him for a moment, towards the other heroes, and when he turned back she was attempting to stand.
“Please stay seated, let me make sure you’re not hurt.” He said, trying to keep her down without physically restraining her. She was clearly spooked by something, and he needed to figure out why, as soon as possible.
He led her through some deep breathing until she had calmed enough to have a conversation.
“What’s your name?” He asked, handing her a bottle of water.
“Himari.” She said quietly, uncapping the bottle and taking a sip.
“Alright, sweetheart,” He said, smiling softly at her. She was less of a woman and more of a teenager, he had realized, after he had taken a moment to take in the situation. “Can you tell me why you’re so scared? Something hurting?”
She shook her head. “I don’t like loud noises…”
“That makes sense. I don’t either.” He said, nodding. “But you’re safe now, I promise.” He said. He heard some yelling over the comms he had turned down, and glanced behind him again to see parts of the building crumble with a loud rumble.
Before he knew what was happening, Himari had stood and grabbed his arm, eyes wide, before taking off down the street. He took a few steps before a piercing scream cut through the air. He glanced at the ground where he was just standing, and there, wrapped in a blanket, was a tiny baby, screaming it’s lungs out.
“Fuck…” He muttered, lifting the baby into his arms and bouncing a few times to calm the screaming child, before calling over the comms. “This is Dynamight, please be advised there is a teenage girl on the run, brown hair, roughly 5’4”, wearing a green sweater and blue jeans. Her name is Himari. She has a… cloning quirk? Baby quirk? Unsure. Someone find her please.” He said, before marching off towards his agency to get himself and this random child checked out.

“All secure here!” Red Riot yelled, the rubble cleared of all possible victims trapped beneath.
“Alright, Riot, go ahead and head to the agency for your next assignment.” He heard. He nodded as though they could see him and headed off down the road. As he was walking, he glanced around at the chaos that had overtaken the city after the fire broke out. He sighed and continued walking. It wasn’t even a villain attack, but crime had gotten so bad that every single disaster had to be treated as though it was until proven not, in case something were to happen.
“Oh my god oh my god I can’t- fuck, fuck, shit-” He heard from down an alleyway. He glanced down to see a teenage girl leaning against a wall breathing heavily with a hand pressed to her chest. She matched the description he had heard Dynamight send out earlier.
“Uh, hi.” He said, stepping into the alley. The girls closed eyes shot open and she stared, wildly, at him. “I’m Pro Hero Red Riot. Are you okay?” He asked, walking slowly to try not to spook her. If she ran earlier, there was no telling where she might go next, and it was Eijirou’s job to make sure she got home safe at the end of the day.
“I’m- I’m fine.” She stuttered, backing slowly into the alleyway. “Really, it’s okay, I know there’s others who need more help… go help them.” She said, her hands shaking.
“I’m here to make sure every citizen is safe. That includes you.” He stated, offering a reassuring smile. “I’m not going to hurt you I just want to make sure you get back to your family safe and unharmed.”
“R-right…” She said, letting out a slow breath. “You… you didn’t get a call from Dynamight, did you?”
He nodded. No need for lying. “I did. You matched my description. Don’t worry, you’re not in trouble. We just want to make sure you’re okay.” He said, hands extended.
She looked scared again, then. She was looking around like a lion in a cage, trying to find a way out. He knew it well. He had seen it many times before. Many villains looked like this when they felt they were trapped. But she wasn’t a villain. She was a teenager. A scared teenager, at that. He couldn’t treat her as a villain, she was just a kid.
“Don’t worry, everything is okay. You’re not in trouble or anything, I promise. I will personally make sure nothing happens to you.” He said, hands still outstretched. She nodded and took a few steps toward him, grabbing his arm. Then, she shuffled past him and took off again. “Shit-” He said, taking a few steps towards her, when he heard a loud scream. He turned behind him to see a baby laying on the ground of the alleyway where he had just been, tuft of black hair spattered on the baby’s forehead. The baby must have strong lungs, the screams loud and piercing. He, without thinking, leaned down and picked up the baby, and took off towards his apartment. He needed to figure this out.
How was he going to tell Katsuki?

Katsuki walked into the apartment, baby sleeping soundly in the car seat he had been given by the agency. He sighed and gently shut the door, walking into their apartment. They had done a speed DNA test to see that the baby was made with 50% his DNA and 50% the quirks specific DNA, which was mostly a mismatch of “normal” DNA, the basics.
He headed into their shared bedroom, gently lifting the newborn out of the seat and laying him gently on the bed, surrounded by pillows. He smiled as the child continued to snooze as he pulled out his laptop. He could explain to Eijirou as soon as he got home, but right now he needed to start ordering baby items. He could change their home office into a nursery, for sure. With a few weeks off of work, he could get it done quickly. Their friends would spoil the kid with so many gifts he would be drowning in them. And they also needed to think of a name. Oh, shit, a name.
He heard the door to their apartment slam open in the other room and quickly glanced at the child, who was thankfully still asleep. He set his laptop aside and walked out of the bedroom.
“Eij?” He asked, walking towards their front door. As he approached, he could see Eijirou’s frantic expression first. He was still in his hero costume. And then, as he got closer, he saw the bundle of blankets in his arms. “Uhh… Eijirou?” He asked.
“Look, I can explain-” Just as the redhead started to speak, there was a loud, high pitched scream, from the bedroom.
“Fuck.” Katsuki muttered, practically running back to the bedroom and reemerging with a baby cradled in his arms, slowly calming.
They stared at each other for another moment, silently.
“Well, I guess we have twins now.” Katsuki said, cracking a smile.
“I guess we do…” Eijirou responded. They both burst into laughter then, only stopping when both babies started crying from being jostled.
