Yoongi was walking to the group dorm room slowly and calmly. He opened the door to be greeted by Hoseok.
“Hi, Yoongi-Hyung!! I’m glad you’re home safe!”
Yoongi smiled.
“I’m glad you’re happy right now. How have you been doing since the other members are out?”
“I’ve been doing just fine, thanks for asking!! I’ve only been on my phone, haha”
Yoongi chuckled. “Well, I’m gonna go work on writing lyrics, you’re free to come in anytime”
Yoongi went to his studio and started writing. The lyrics were a bit flirtatious and, of course, were describing his immense infatuation with Hoseok. Hours passed by writing lyrics.
Then he made a realization.
Wait, we’re just friends... I don’t think he’s interested anyways so what’s the point
Hoseok came in a few minutes later. “How’s it going?”
Yoongi slowly hid the lyrics with his hands and his arms in fear of Hoseok reading them and asking who it was about. He smiled despite that.
“It’s going good!! I suppose today is my day”

It's now been six months since that happened, and Yoongi never confessed. For several reasons. First of all, Hoseok was interested in Jimin. Second of all, Yoongi didn't exactly have confidence. Every time he would talk to Hoseok, he would get so flustered that he would have to cut their conversations short. But he still liked Hoseok, a lot. Why?
“Yoongi-Hyung, come here! I wanna show you something!” Hoseok yells from his studio.
Yoongi sighs, wearily taking one step at a time.
“Hurry up!”
Yoongi shakes his head.
Why does Hoseok even want to talk to me anyway? We all know he has a huge ass crush on Jimin. He'll never feel the same way toward me.
Yoongi finally arrives at Hoseok’s studio and opens the door, frowning.
“What’s wrong? Why do you look so sad?”
“Just tired, that's all,” Yoongi mumbles while rubbing his eyes to play the act.
Hoseok smiles softly at the sight of Yoongi.
“You’re cute when you’re tired”
What?
“You mean that?”
“Yeah! I mean, just look at those cheeks!”
Yoongi looks to the side and then at the floor, grinning. Hoseok chuckles.
“Anyways, so, you're probably asking why I called you over here, right? Well, I wanted to show you something”
“Oh? What is it?”
“Okay, so you know this sweater I have? It's not me anymore, but I thought you'd look better in it”
WHAT???
Hoseok hands Yoongi the sweater. It’s a sweater Yoongi always loved to see on Hoseok.
“So when I saw it earlier, I thought, hey, this would look better on Yoongi!”
He… thinks his clothes will look better on me? He actually thinks of me?
Yoongi blushes but shakes his head when he remembers he shouldn’t even try because he’s reminded, once again, of the fact that Hoseok likes Jimin.
“So what you're saying is, you want me to try it on?”
“Yes!”
“In front of you?”
“Well, you don't have to change in front of me”

“Okay,” Yoongi says under his breath as he walks back to his room. Once he's in his room, he switches shirts and looks at himself in the mirror and shrugs. He goes back to Hoseok’s studio, and once he opens the door Hoseok gasps.
“Oh my god.”
Yoongi looks around.
“YOU LOOK SO CUTE!!!” Hoseok screams, running toward Yoongi and giving him a big and tight hug.
“Hey! I can’t breathe!”
Hoseok giggles, loosening the hug and apologizing.
Meanwhile, Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin are talking to each other in the living room.
“Okay. Jimin, are you ready for mine and Jungkook’s announcement?”
“Yes!!”
“Okay!! 3, 2, 1...”
Jimin's eyes widen in suspense and excitement.
“We’re dating!!!” Taehyung and Jungkook shout, putting one arm around the other.
“What??? Oh my God, I'm so happy for you guys!! How long have you guys liked each other, if you don't mind me asking?”
“Ummm, well, for me, I've liked Jungkook for about six months!”
“And for me, heh, I liked Taehyung for maybe, a year?”
“Wow!! You guys love each other a lot, huh?”
“Yeah!!”
Jimin smiles. He looks off to the side as Taehyung and Jungkook go on with their conversation with each other, and Jimin is not included. Sure, he's happy for them, like he should be.
But he's envious. Envious of Jungkook. Jimin liked Taehyung for way longer than Jungkook. And he still likes him. In the past, Taehyung used to say they were soulmates. Jimin shakes his head and rolls his eyes.
“Well, now if you excuse me, I’ll be in my room!!”
“Oh, okay. We’ll be right here!!”
“Okay. See you later!” Jimin says with a fake smile as he leaves the living room and goes back to his room. His fake smile drops, eyes relaxed, and hands slowly clenching into fists. His fists are clenched so hard that his knuckles could turn white.
He closes his door, locks it, and looks at the friendship bracelet that he and Taehyung made for each other a while back. He stares at it for about five seconds, before getting the irresistible urge to tear it off and throw it on the floor.
But he could never do that.
There are so many memories attached to it. The first kiss that they stole from each other. Every time that he and Taehyung would hold hands.
Jimin keeps it on. For now. Anyways, he sits on his bed with his arms crossed. He shakes his head once again.
DUMBASS!! BE HAPPY FOR THEM INSTEAD OF SULKING BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T DATE YOUR CRUSH!!!!

Yoongi is back in his studio, with the sweater still on. He’s humming the beat that he made and he goes on his phone to take a little break until he hears a knock on his door. He sighs as he gets up from his chair to open the door.
“It was open? Anyways, why are you here, Jimin?”
“I need to talk to someone”
“Uh, okay? Talk to Taehyung”
“No, I can't talk to Taehyung”
“Why?”
“Because it involves him! Okay? So can I talk to you?”
“Ummm, sure. Come in”
Jimin cocks his head to the side as he lets himself into Yoongi’s studio, hands still in fists. Yoongi raises an eyebrow but closes the door.
“So why are you here in the first place?”
“Well, um…”
“Well???”
“Taehyung and Jungkook are dating.”
“And?”
“I have a crush on Taehyung!!!”
Yoongi gasps, eyes wide, blinking as he comprehends what just came out of Jimin’s mouth.
“You what?”
“Have a crush on Taehyung! And he’s dating Jungkook! I’m sure you know how it feels, to like someone just to have them not like you back”
Oh, Yoongi knows exactly how it feels. He nods softly, looking off to the side.
“Yeah... But what do you want me to do? What I recommend is just to stay friends with him, get over him, and you'll be fine”
“Well, how do I do that?”
“I don't know! Just accept the fact that he doesn't like you back and tell yourself you're okay with it.”
“Oh.”
“I'm going through the same thing right now”
That wasn't supposed to come out. That was NOT supposed to slip out of Yoongi’s mouth. Yoongi covers his mouth with his hand, looking around.
“What do you mean you're going through the same thing?”
“What? You didn't hear anything”
“No, no, I know what I heard. Who do you like?”
“Um,” Yoongi mumbles, rubbing his neck.
“I won’t tell! Tell me!!”
“Well... It’s um...”
“Well????”
“It’s Hoseok! Happy now?”
“WHAT?? I’M TELLING.”
“Hey! You said you wouldn’t tell!!”
“That was a lie!!”
“Tell him and I'll tell Taehyung.”
“Oh... Okay. I won't tell. Let's make a deal. We’ll keep each other’s secrets, but in return, you have to do things for me for a week.”
“And you have to make sure Hoseok likes me back!”
Jimin’s eyes widen and he sighs.
“Fine.”
“Now get out of here, I was recording”
Jimin clicks his tongue, taking off from Yoongi’s studio and back to the living room for some reason.
“Hey, Jimin! I thought you were in your room?”
“I got lonely.”
Jimin glances at Taehyung and Jungkook, who are cuddling. Jimin blinks only once.
Back in Hoseok’s studio, he’s thinking of Jimin. Hoseok smiles a very big smile, almost a bit too big. He bounces his foot.
“Hey, Hoseok?” Jimin says, knocking on the studio door.
“Hey!! Come in”
“I have something to tell you”
Jimin walks into Hoseok’s studio, looking around.
“Someone, in this household, has a crush on you, Hoseok”
“WHAT?!? WHO????”
As soon as Hoseok says that, Yoongi walks by.
“WELL... He said not to tell”
Jimin’s eyes point in the direction that Yoongi walked, but Hoseok doesn’t pick up on it.
“Tell him it’s okay and that he can tell me whenever he’s ready, whoever it is”
“Okay!! Bye now”
“Bye!!”
Jimin leaves the studio but doesn’t close the door. Yoongi comes back just in time, catching the attention of Hoseok.
“Yoongi-Hyung~ guess what just happened!!”
“What happened?”
“Okay, so, I’ll tell you, but we have to be quiet”
“Okay...”
Hoseok closes the door, locking it just in case.
Why did he lock it? No one dares to come into a studio uninvited unless they're Jimin
“So, you know how Jimin was just here?”
“Yeah”
“He said someone has a crush on me!! And he was like looking away and all that, so I think he’s talking about himself… I’m blushing just thinking about it, heh”
That little asshole. He was giving everything away!!
“Really??? Oh my God, I bet he was!”
What the hell??? Why would he tell him that someone has a crush on him and then proceed to look away?? Like, dude… If you want to tell him I like him then fucking do it already!
“When I marry him, you’ll be the best man”
“Oh,” Yoongi says under his breath.
How can you be so sure?
“Just kidding!! But when, or if, I date him, please support me~”
“I will!!”
“Thanks, Yoongi-Hyung”
Yoongi smiles and feels his cheeks warm up. He looks down, still smiling, and rubs his neck.
“Why wouldn't I support you?”
Hoseok tilts his head and hugs Yoongi. Yoongi’s shocked for a second before smiling again and hugging Hoseok back. But suddenly, Yoongi hears hitched breaths and feels tears soak into his shirt.
“Hey... What's wrong?”
“Just... Scared you’ll leave me and stop being my friend”
“Why would I ever do that?”
“I don't know... Why would you?” Hoseok sniffles.
“There isn't a reason why I would do that”
“I hope not, because then I'll cry more”
“Please don't cry, you'll make me cry”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you sad. I’ll shut up and let go because my emotions are rubbing off on you”
“No, it’s fine. Stay here for as long as you want, okay?”
“Really? It’s fine?”
“Yeah!!”
“I love you”
WHAT??
“Platonically, of course!! Don’t think I have a crush on you or anything, we all know I like Jimin!!”
Yoongi chuckles.
Oh okay. I mean, I shouldn’t overreact. I know he doesn’t like me back.
“I love you too, platonically”
Hoseok lets go of the hug, looks at Yoongi, and smiles. Yoongi smiles back and they hold eye contact for about five seconds until Yoongi looks away.
“Are you okay now, Hoseok?”
“Yes!!”
“You sure?”
“Of course I'm sure, you made me feel better”
“Glad I could help”
Hoseok giggles and messes up Yoongi’s hair.
“Now go get some rest, Yoongi-Hyung. It’s almost eleven p.m.”
“Oh, shit, you're right. Um, see you in the morning then?”
“See you!!”
Yoongi leaves Hoseok’s studio and goes to his bedroom, for he's already turned off all of his devices for the day. He lies down, sighs, and looks around because what just happened? After that, he finally closes his eyes and allows himself to fall asleep.
The next morning, Hoseok wakes up ten minutes before Yoongi. Hoseok hears a knock at his door, so he opens it and sees Namjoon looking down the hallway both days to check if someone is coming.
“Oh, hi Namjoon!”
“Hoseok, we have to talk”
“About what?”
“I'll tell you if you let me in. But you have to close the door”
“Okay...?”
Hoseok lets Namjoon in and closes the door, as he wished.
“Okay, so, I know you like Jimin a lot, but there's something I have to tell you”
“Wait, what? What happened?”
Namjoon takes a sharp breath through his teeth, squinting his eyes as he looks around nervously.
“I'm just going to give it to you straight. He doesn't like you back. He likes Taehyung.”
“But... But Taehyung is dating Jungkook??”
“I know. But Jimin still likes him”
“What? But he came in yesterday talking about how someone has a crush on me. I thought he was talking about himself??”
“That was... Nevermind”
“I don’t care about what it was about. I just want to know how long he's liked him.”
“Ummmm... Like two years?”
“WHAT.”
“Yeah... I'm sorry”
“Then what am I gonna do? Who am I going to have a crush on? Like, I’m not saying I need to have a crush on someone, but I want to have a crush, you know?”
“Well, you could like any of us, but since Taehyung and Jungkook are dating, and Seokjin and I are dating, your best bet would be to either stick with Jimin, or...”
“Or what?”
“Or you could try your chances with Yoongi.”
Namjoon is very much aware of Yoongi’s crush on Hoseok.
“Yoongi? I've never even considered having a crush on him. I only like him as a friend”
“You never know, maybe you could find yourself liking him in the next few weeks or months”
“I’ll give you ten dollars if I start to like him. On the other hand, you have to give me ten dollars if I end up only liking him as a friend. And also, this happens in three weeks!! Deal?”
“Deal.”
“Now, I need some time to myself. Respectfully, please leave.”
“‘Kay”
Namjoon steps out, heading toward Yoongi’s room. Ten minutes have passed, so Yoongi is already awake.
Namjoon knocks on Yoongi’s door this time. Yoongi groans, opening the door about three inches.
“What do you want? I just woke up”
“I... May or may have not told Hoseok that Jimin doesn't like him back.”
“Why would you do that? Did you tell him anything else?”
“Well, I told him he could try his chances with you instead of Jimin”
“You did WHAT now?”
“Yeah. But he said he’s never considered you and that he only thinks of you as a friend”
“Oh... Well, I could've gone the whole day without knowing that”
“Sorry!! But you will have to try if you want him to like you back”
“That’s what I was planning to do, I've already kind of started”
“Good job!! Just keep doing what you're doing”
“Okay? Now please, can I go back to sleep?”
“Fine,” Namjoon says, shrugging as he leaves Yoongi’s room and spots Hoseok walking to Yoongi’s door, which Yoongi is peeking out of to make sure Namjoon is fully out of the hallway.
“Yoongi-Hyung…”
“Hmm?”
“Can we talk?”
“Of course”
“Okay, good…” Hoseok mumbles as he pushes his hair back and walks into Yoongi’s room.
“What’s wrong?”
“Jimin doesn’t like me back...? But what I don’t understand is, what was that conversation about the other day?”
“I don't know”
“Like, I’m just so confused right now, I don't even know what to do-”
“Hey. Come here. Don’t get so worked up about it.”
“Sorry,” Hoseok whispers as he goes in for another hug.
“If you need to cry, you can cry all you want. I'll stay right here, okay?”
Hoseok’s eyes become glossy and he tries not to blink but inevitably, he fails to do so. Tears trickle down his face, and he sniffles.
“Thanks... Just, please don't leave”
“I won't”
Maybe liking Yoongi won't be so bad. Wait, what am I thinking? It must just be my confusion and emotions getting the best of me
“Wait, if Namjoon and Jin-Hyung are dating, and Taehyung and Jungkook are dating, and Jimin doesn't like me back, that leaves one person out...”
Oh no. He's going to ask if I have a crush on him. I do, but am I ready to disclose that information to him? No!
“Is it you, Yoongi? Do you have a crush on me?”
“No, it’s not me,” Yoongi says most casually, although, inside he is very much not casual.
Oh... I screwed that up. He's gonna know it's me
“Well, I’m officially having a crisis”
“Hey, don’t! It'll all be fine!! Just take it slow and don't dwell on it. I know it'll be hard, but it'll all turn out okay if you just accept it. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“If you ever need to talk, I’ll be here”
“Thanks, Yoongi-Hyung… you made me feel way better!!” Hoseok says with a smile.
His smile is just so… how do I say it? Beautiful? Bright? I don't know. But it just makes me so happy to see him happy.
Yoongi wishes he could be the main cause of such a smile. But that would require Hoseok to get over Jimin, and that’ll take a lot of hard work. Right?
Right?
