Deceit’s Truth

Summary:

Despite being the embodiment of literal Deceit, there was one truth in his heart that will never fade, and that is the fact that he will always love his fiancé.

Work Text:

Janus was laying down in his bed, ready to sleep. He put his head onto the pillow, ready to set off for the night. At least before someone knocked on his door. Janus begrudgingly got up and slouched over to the door. He wrapped his fingers around the golden door knob before he swung the door open.

Behold, was his fiancé, Patton Sanders, teary-eyed, who was wearing a grey cat onesie and holding a teddy bear, which was wearing a small red flannel, that he had dubbed ‘Benjamin.’

“Patton? What are you doing awake at this hour?” Janus said, surprised.

“There was a spider in my room…”

“Why couldn’t you just kill it?”

“It was a big one! It was as big as a tennis ball…”

“Wow, aren’t you so brave?”, Janus said with a sarcastic tone.

Janus continued, “I’m assuming that you want to stay here?”

Patton nodded. Janus sighed before saying, “Alright, come here.” Patton walked to Janus’s bed and hopped in before slipping away into sleep. Janus sat on the edge of his bed and stared at Patton. He couldn’t believe such a snake like him could get engaged with someone like Patton.

Janus looked at the time. It was around midnight. Janus figured that he should sleep. He tucked Patton in under a yellow blanket.

Patton turned over, putting his head onto Janus’ chest, thus resulting in his brown fluffy hair brushing onto Janus’s neck. Patton’s arms wrap around Janus’ body, hugging him. Janus’ face had turned a radiant red. Janus responded to this by his arms around Patton’s body and softly putting his head onto Patton’s forehead.

Janus started to feel…something. It felt like a warm blaze melting away the apathy in his heart. However, he’s not unfamiliar with this feeling. He has felt it several times in the past with varying strengths. The strongest time was the first time he felt it. When he kneeled in front of Patton, with a small red box in hand. In said red box, was a ring. Also known as, his proposal to Patton. Ever since then, the two-faced snake boy wasn’t as cold as everyone else thought. Patton had made his way into Janus’ heart.

Janus stared at his cat-onesie-wearing fiancé with nothing but love in his eyes. Despite being the embodiment of literal Deceit, there was one truth in his heart that will never fade, and that is the fact that he will always love his fiancé.
