Notes:

I forgot to upload this >.<

I already finished this since Monday. I was gonna upload this last Friday, a week after publishing my first one, but I forgot and it's exam week so I had to finish some school work and study for the exams. And honestly, I was a bit anxious to post it.

Anyway, here it is.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Prompt: B treating A's injury.

Let Me Treat You

"Vanilla Latte for Jade!" Chaeyoung calls out from the corner of the counter. And not long after, a girl gets up and grabs the drink, then leaves the store.

While leaving, Mina enters. And when Chaeyoung notices, a smile is instantly plastered on her face.

"Mina!" Chaeyoung whispers and waves a little, a smile instantly appearing when they see each other.

Before Mina could order her drink, Chaeyoung was already grabbing some lemons and handing it to Tzuyu who was in charge of making drinks for the day.

Tzuyu didn't ask who it was for, already knowing it was Mina's order. Yet she still looked at the girl, who gave her a smile in return.

"Morning Chaeng!" Mina finally reaches the counter, her signature gummy smile plastered on her face.

"Hi! Didn't you text me last night that you're working the night shift today?" Chaeyoung acted like she punched Mina's order in.

"Yeah, but I wanted to stop by the cafe before morning rush hour happens,” Mina takes out her wallet, seeing Tzuyu approach them with her drink in hand.

"Hey Unnie, here's your beloved lemonade," Tzuyu hands her the drink, smiles, and walks away.

"Thanks Chewie," Gladly accepts the drink and hands Chaeyoung the money. But to her dismay, Chaeyoung shakes her head and pushes Mina's hand away.

"On the house," Chaeyoung smiles, but instead of getting a smile in return, Mina pouts. "Come on! You've accepted my payment every time. Why now?"

"Momo Unnie actually told me that you and Sana Unnie are busy this week so, if ever, one of you would come by this week and pay for your drinks, she would take The School Meal club's phones, and our wallpapers would be her face the entire week…"

Mina was surprised at the answer, not what she was expecting.

"Well then, tell Momo I said thank you," Mina concedes and puts her money back into her wallet. "I'm probably stopping by again tomorrow morning after my shift. Will you be here?"

"Always."

And Mina starts walking away.

But before Mina could get out the door, Chaeyoung noticed that she left her phone on the counter. And instead of calling out to her, Chaeyoung tried to chase her.

"Wait! Chaeyoung that part's still slip-" Dahyun tried to warn the short girl, but it was too late. She had already slipped, "pery…" Dahyun finishes.

Mina, hearing the commotion, turned around so fast she could've given herself whiplash.

Chaeyoung, now on the floor, is rubbing her butt to soothe the pain.

"Chaeng! Are you okay?" Mina rushes to her side. "Can you hear me? Do you know who I am? Do you know where you are?"

"Yes, yes, you're Mina, and I'm in Momo's coffee shop. Yes, I'm fine Mina." She gratefully smiled at Mina, trying to dissipate the worry she senses in the other girl.

Chaeyoung tries to stand up, but Mina softly pushes her back down, "Don't stand yet."

"Yeah, I totally wouldn't but I can feel the wetness of the floor seeping through my pants."

"Oh!" Mina helps the girl slowly stand up and assist her in walking to a nearby table. Dahyun and Tzuyu come to help as well.

Mina goes behind Chaeyoung and gets to work, checking for injuries.

A few soft presses of Mina's finger on Chaeyoung's clothed back, and a few hisses and grunts of pain here and there, Mina asks if Chaeyoung could untie and take off her apron so she could get a closer look of her back.

While Dahyun and Tzuyu were both equally worried at the sounds Chaeyoung was making, they were still on the job, so when a customer came in, they went back to work.

"I'm gonna ask you something that sounds weird but is totally reasonable," Mina gets up and goes face to face with Chaeyoung. "Can you come with me to the bathroom so I can check your back for bruises?" Her face a bright red shade, clearly flushed with asking the question.

Chaeyoung mumbles okay. But instead of the bathroom, Chaeyoung insists that they do it in the backroom so they have more privacy. And so that Dahyun and Tzuyu don’t have to leave the counter unmanned.

“I’m gonna lift your shirt…” Mina whispers quietly as her fingers are holding on the hem of Chaeyoung’s shirt.

As Mina starts raising the shirt, Chaeyoung inhales sharply and shivers a bit as Mina’s cold fingers brush against her bare back. Mina, though also very flustered at the situation they are in, is focused on checking and treating Chaeyoung’s injuries.

“This hurts right?” Mina lightly presses, “Yeah,” Chaeyoung hisses in pain. “Hm, there doesn’t seem to be any major injuries, just a bruise right… here…” Mina taps on Chaeyoung’s lower back, making her arch away from Mina’s touch.

“Chaeyoung! Are you okay?” Tzuyu pops in, clearly worried for her friend.

“She’s alright,” Mina responds for Chaeyoung, “Tzuyu, can you grab a pack of ice for me?” She lets go of Chaeyoung’s shirt and looks up at Tzuyu, who was quick in grabbing ice. “This is gonna be cold,” Mina warns about the incoming coldness. She holds the ice in place to help heal the bruise.

While the two casually talk to each other, Chaeyoung checks the clock and notices that Mina might get late for her job. She tried to stand, but the pain stung her like a bee and she quickly sat back down. Mina, now worried again, asks what’s the rush.

“You’re gonna be late for work,” Chaeyoung points at their wall clock, “you said you’re having a night shift today…” She looks down. Mina smiles at Chaeyoung for fretting about her job. “I don’t want to be a burden…” Chaeyoung adds.

“You never could be. Plus, I am doing my job, right?” Mina raises the ice pack, “I’m just not in the hospital.” Chaeyoung’s frown slowly disappears and finally looks at Mina with a small smile playing on her face.

“But if it worries you so much, I could take you to the hospital so I could monitor you for a few more hours?” Mina raises her brow.

“Am I getting admitted for something this small?” The question confuses Chaeyoung.

“No, silly. I’m just gonna have you in my office. I have more stuff there to maybe help treat the bruise,” Chaeyoung opens her mouth, ready to protest, “and don’t worry, we don’t have many patients this time around.” Mina, realizing what she said, “Though, I think I might’ve just jinxed myself.” She smiles brightly at Chaeyoung.

“But what about the cafe?” Chaeyoung worries about her job.

“Gosh, you’re still gonna worry about that?” Mina chuckles, “Dahyun and Tzuyu will have it under control. And Momo will understand. Hell, she might even force you to get admitted to the hospital. Especially since Sana and I work there.”

“You’re right…” Chaeyoung slowly nods, knowing Momo would actually do that.

“So? What do you say?” Mina takes the pack of ice and places it near the sink, letting the now small pieces of ice melt away down the drain.

“I’ll come with.”

“Alright, let’s go.” Mina offered her hand to support Chaeyoung, and didn’t let go the entire duration of walking to the counter.

After telling Dahyun and Tzuyu what’s gonna happen, they hoped Chaeyoung would get better soon, knowing Chaeyoung would be in good hands. And though they knew Mina’s true intention, it was still fun seeing both girls holding hands, their faces bright blushing red messes.

They hop into Mina’s car, and head to the hospital.

As they start to pull up near the hospital, Chaeyoung is in awe of the size of the hospital.

JYP HOSPITAL

“What time does your shift start?” Chaeyoung asks as Mina finds an open space in the underground parking area.

“Uh, around 6PM.” Backing up in the space she found relatively near the elevator.

“And what time does it end?” Mina and Chaeyoung get out of the car.

“6AM.” Mina locks the car. And they head to the elevator.

While riding the elevator, a tall young boy pushing around his IV stand enters the elevator. A smile appears on his face when he sees Mina.

“Ni-ki! How are you feeling?” Mina switches to Japanese with a smile on her face.

“I’m doing alright. Doctor Minatozaki told me I might get discharged next month!” He happily replies in Japanese as well.

He notices Chaeyoung and bows, seeing the closeness of her and Mina.

“Ah! This is my girlfriend, Chaeyoung,” Mina says with pride in her voice, reverting back to Korean, intent on including Chaeyoung in the conversation.

“Oh!” Ni-ki smiles at Chaeyoung, “Nice to meet you! Doctor Myoui never told me she had a girlfriend! I'm Ni-ki.”

“Yes, well, we’ve only started dating last week…” Mina looks down, a shy smile on her face. “Not even our friends know yet,” Chaeyoung follows, chuckling a bit, “you’re the first to know.”

Ni-ki smiles even wider, “Well I’m glad you trust me enough to not tell Doctor Minatozaki! Which I won’t!” He held his hands in the air. Mina looks up, a soft smile on her face, and says, “I know you won’t,” but the smile morphs into something mischievous, “because I know you know what would happen to you if you do.” Switching back to Japanese as she threateningly squints her eyes at Ni-ki.

The elevator dings and Mina announces, "Welp, here's our stop. See you again, Ni-ki." She offers her hand again, and Chaeyoung gladly takes it. They hold hands as they leave the elevator and just before the doors close, Ni-ki calls out,"It was nice meeting you, Chaeyoung Noona! And don't worry Doc! I won't tell a soul!"

"He's a relatively old patient. He's been here since he was 13…" Mina explains once they were alone while leading Chaeyoung to her office. "Poor kid. His family arrived barely knowing any Korean. That's why he's close with Sana and I," they turn a corner, "We understood him far better than anyone. We taught him how to speak Korean, if we had the chance. So he's kind of like our little brother now." They finally arrived.

Myoui Mina

Pediatric Surgeon

Chaeyoung sees the name plate outside her door and asks, "Pediatric?" Mina hums in response, "You deal with children a lot?" Mina hums again, a bit distracted with finding her office key.

"Yeah, well, children are fun and adorable," She finally keys the keyhole and they enter her office, "and I secretly find it fun when children cry about the simplest of things." Chaeyoung blinks at this… new information. "I was actually handling Ni-ki for about two years before he got transferred to Sana's care."

"Well anyway, just sit there. I'll just grab some stuff." Mina points to her sofa, and she leaves Chaeyoung alone in her office.

A few minutes later, Mina comes back with a proper first aid box, and some more ice, much to Chaeyoung's dismay.

"Oh! just a heads up, some interns might pop their head in here, so don't get too surprised when someone knocks on my door."

"What about Sana Unnie?"

"She practically lives in my office," Mina face palms, "every chance she gets, she comes-"

"Mina-yah!!"

"-here…" Mina purses her lips as Sana barges into her office. "Ever heard of knocking?"

"Oh! And Chaeyoungie! Hi!" Sana completely ignores Mina's question and hugs both Mina and Chaeyoung. "So what are you doing here Chaeyoung-ah?" Sana sits beside Chaeyoung, who opens her mouth to respond but gets cut off by Mina.

"She slipped and fell at the cafe earlier. She has a bruise on her lower back, so I brought her here to further check and monitor her." Chaeyoung nods.

"Oh! Let me see." Sana coaxes Chaeyoung to turn around and show her the bruise. "Hmm, it seems fine to me," Sana lowers Chaeyoung's shirt, "no fractures or anything?" She turns to Mina, who shakes her head no in response.

"I guess you just need to ice it for now, it's slowly fading from what I can see." Sana taps the bruise, earning a face scrunch from Chaeyoung and a small groan.

"Is your shift also ending at 6am, Sana Unnie?" Chaeyoung sits properly this time.

"Yeah, we're gonna have a long night ahead of us. Won't we, Mina-yah?" Mina sighs and nods.

" Paging Doctor Minatozaki Sana to room 224. Thank you ." Sana's pager sounds resonate through the room.

"Welp, that's it for me," Sana stands up, patting her legs, "I will be back later anyways. So don't miss me too much!" Sana leaves the room.

"I never do!" Mina calls out to Sana outside the door, earning a loud bark of laughter from the latter.

"How's your bruise?" Mina returns to Chaeyoung's side, carrying the first aid box.

"It's feeling a bit better now." Chaeyoung lifts her shirt, showing Mina the bruise. She carefully touches the purple area and grabs the ice bag, carefully applying it on.

While Mina is treating Chaeyoung, three knocks on the door. "Come in!" Mina calls out.

"Doctor Myoui? I brought some of my new thesis papers you asked me to print out." A young boy wearing scrubs and a lab coat comes in, carrying a stack of paper.

He oddly looks like Mina Unnie… Does she have a younger brother?

"Ah! Sunghoon-ssi! Yes, come in!" Mina taps Chaeyoung, signaling that she continues icing herself for a bit.

While the two talk about his papers, Chaeyoung properly looks around the room and couldn’t help but wonder if this is what Mina does on a daily basis. Thinking about how she always manages to stop by the cafe in the morning, then come to this place to work for hours on end. Maybe even getting emergency surgeries.

There was a side of the wall Chaeyoung particularly liked. She enjoyed looking at the wall of children’s drawings. She got up and walked to the wall to look at the drawings closer. Mina noticed the movement from the corner of her eye and raised her eyebrows at Chaeyoung, but went back to conversing with Sunghoon not long after.

“That should be all, Sunghoon-ssi. Let’s meet again next week.” Mina offered a smile as Sunghoon started arranging and packing his papers. “Don’t mind her, she’s an artist herself, so I suppose she’s taken an interest in the drawings.” And then Sunghoon takes his leave.

“Found any one you particularly like?” Mina came up behind Chaeyoung, slightly startling the girl.

“Yeah, I like this one,” Chaeyoung replied, pointing to a drawing of a penguin. Mina goes near it and touches the drawing, lightly tracing the line of crayon.

“Because it reminds me of you.” Chaeyoung suddenly continued what she was saying, flustering Mina when she realized what she meant. Turning around quickly to see a soft smile on Chaeyoung’s face.

She was smiling at Mina.

And Mina was smiling back.

Chaeyoung uses the opportunity to give Mina a quick peck on the lips.

Mina’s eyes widened in shock, a small smile still playing on her lips.

“Mina, we’ve been dating for a week. Don’t be too surprised.” Chaeyoung winks at Mina and heads back to the couch to continue icing her lower back. Though she might not need to ice it anymore. It barely hurts now. But she still might get it checked out later by Mina.

Mina, still in shock, doesn’t move from her place. Instead, she smiles widely and blinks a few times. She walks towards Chaeyoung and gives her a kiss, square on the lips.

Chaeyoung sighs, reveling in the kiss, but then a set of frantic knocks could be heard at the door, shocking both girls apart. Mina practically jumps a few feet away from Chaeyoung.

“C-come in!” Mina stutters, twitchingly attempting to cover her mouth and cheeks.

“Doctor Myoui! It… It’s Ni-ki!” An intern with a shaky breath delivers the news, “he- he fainted in his room!” Mina couldn’t believe her ears.

She looks at Chaeyoung, as if saying, “I have to go.” And Chaeyoung understood and nodded instantly, understanding the situation.

Mina runs towards his room, not bothering to take the elevator up a floor, opting to take the stairs. And Chaeyoung followed, she took the elevator though…

Mina slams the door open to…

*POP* *POP* *POP*

“CONGRATS ON GETTING A GIRLFRIEND MINA-YAH!” Sana’s loud voice could be heard after the party poppers scared the life out of Mina.

“How-” Mina looks around and her eyes land on… “Ni-ki…” She chases him around the room, which proved to be a bit of a challenge, given his height and long legs, his strides are much more pronounced and long compared to Mina’s. Chaeyoung arrives at the sight of her girlfriend chasing around a young boy lugging an IV stand.

“They already knew!” Ni-ki tried defending himself, “they just wanted to hear it from your guys’ mouths!” Ni-ki pulls out a little microphone from inside his patient's gown. Chaeyoung wonders what they could have been talking about, why Ni-ki was conscious and being chased around, and why Sana was in the corner of the room, grinning like a mad man.

Mina sighs and notices Chaeyoung in the room. She walks toward her and updates her on what’s happened. “They know about us…”

“Okay…?” Chaeyoung, seemingly unfazed, “weren’t we planning on telling them though?”

“Not like this!” Mina gestures to the extravagant decorations.

“Oh well,” Chaeyoung chuckles, “they know now, and we can’t do anything about it.” She gives Mina another quick peck. But instead of being alone, they were in front of Sana, the squealing mess, Ni-ki, the kid that got dragged into this by Sana, and a random intern that Sana managed to convince to run to Mina’s office and act all that out.

Mina’s shocked eyes return once again. And instead of her chasing Ni-ki, she’s chasing Chaeyoung back to her office.

“This is gonna be a long night shift…” Sana comments, content at what she discovered. Eagerly telling the other girls that the mission was a success and even sent them a picture of a blushing Mina chasing around a laughing Chaeyoung. “Thanks for the help, Niki-kun.” Sana reverts back to Japanese, and he smiles in return.

Notes:

how... was it...?

Honestly, I'm not that proud of it as I was to my first post. To me, it feels a bit... lacking in terms of storyline.

Oh well...
