Where do You Think You're Going?

Summary:

Robby tries to escape Cobra Kai, but Terry Silver pulls him right back.

Notes:

Day 14: failed escape

Also, don't mind me as I binge write a bunch of short fics.

Work Text:

It was a few days after Robby had given up hope of rescue that Robby decided to rescue himself.

It was about midnight when Robby pulled the paperclip that he intended to use to pick the lock on the door. He slid the clip into the lock and was surprised by how easily the lock gave.

Robby slipped out of the back room as quietly as he could manage and began walking towards the front door.

Until he heard a voice call his name. Robby turned to find Terry Silver standing behind him. Robby had no idea why Silver was there that late, but it didn’t much matter. Robby tried to get to the door, but the old man was much faster than he had any right to be at his age. Silver blocked Robby’s path.

“Where do you think you’re going, Robby?” Silver asked in a faux friendly tone.

Robby didn’t say anything. What could he say. He didn’t even have an idea of where he planned to go once he got out of the building.

“I think you better go back to your room,” Silver said in that same tone of voice.

“I don’t really want to,” Robby said. It was the closest that the boy had come to standing up to either of the psychopaths running the dojo since the taser incident.

“I think you should. You want to be well rested for when your mom comes to pick you up tomorrow, right.”

“My mom’s coming tomorrow?” Robby was confused now. He thought that there were a few more days before his mom could come for him. If she came for him.

“Yes. Of course. You get to go home,” Silver said. Robby allowed himself to be led back into the backroom. He hoped his mom was coming for him. Maybe he would be able to handle the rest of Cobra Kai if he didn’t have the extra lessons because he lived there. Robby sat back down on the cot. “As a show of good faith,” Silver said, “I’ll even leave the door open for you.”

Then he left.

Robby laid on the cot. Maybe his escape had failed, but maybe Robby didn’t need to escape. If his mom was coming for him tomorrow, everything would be okay.
