Sleepovers and love confessions

Summary:

It was a normal day for both boys. A Monday evening after school. They were both just walking home from school, just silently enjoying the atmosphere that the world was giving them.

And Jotaro spoke:

“So.. I was thinking.. Maybe we could go to my place on the weekend and have a sort of sleepover, ‘ya know? Like the ones we usually did when our parents weren’t in town..”

Work Text:

It was a normal day for both boys. A Monday evening after school. They were both just walking home from school, just silently enjoying the atmosphere that the world was giving them.

Suddenly and a little surprisingly, Jotaro spoke

“So.. I was thinking.. Maybe we could go to my place on the weekend and have a sort of sleepover, ‘ya know? Like the ones we usually did when our parents weren’t in town..”

Noriaki turned over to him looking a little shocked at first, but eventually ended up smiling slightly and nodding

“Sure! But does that mean Seiko-san isn’t around?” Asked Noriaki ever so softly, kind of sad about not seeing Seiko around, making Jotaro feel a little bad for his friend not being able to see his mother.

“No, she’s visiting Gramps for the weekend” He answered, trying to hold back his feelings about his mom leaving to visit his grandparents. Sure, he wanted them to reunite every once in a while, but it still felt pretty lonely without his mom's constant cheery attitude.

Huh.

Weird.

Why would he miss that?-

“Well, it'd be nice to just have a night for ourselves” Said Noriaki, quickly scooping Jotaro out of his little world “we haven’t had those in a while. With school and our parents, or just everything in general”

“Yeah.. so, we’re doing it?” Jotaro asked, trying to be sure of what they were doing. And just then, they both stopped to notice that they arrived at the Kakyoin Household.

Noriaki turned to look at him with a small smile and nodded again happily, making Jotaros’ heart skip a beat by the gesture.

(Damn you heart!)

“¡Sure!”

And with that, they turned around to open the gate to his place and walking over to it, but not before quickly waving a goodbye at his dear friend

“See you tomorrow, Jotaro!”

Noriaki could have sworn he saw their friend flash a small smile before he pulled his hat down, stating his own goodbye towards them.

“Yeah, see ‘ya tomorrow..”

He started walking away from his friend's house, feeling like his heart was going to any moment now. If only he had taken another second closer to his friend he would have noticed that they were blushing ever so softly thanks to him.

They both felt the days go slower and slower since Jotaro asked the other to come over for a sleepover on monday. They were anticipating this day like there was nothing else more important in the world (Which in reality was just sort of silly, they both knew that), but nonetheless, the day arrived.

It was a normal Saturday evening, and our dear Jotaro was pacing around his home a little worried, while Star Platinum was behind him with a bunch of snacks in hand, more concerned about his user than anything.

“I don’t get it, Star. It’s already six forty-seven and they were supposed to be here by five! Should I call?” The poor young man asked while turning around to face his stand, who looked at him in confusion.

It’s true that he shouldn’t be this worried, but ever since they both got back from their trip to Egypt, he’s been a little tense when it comes to the state or safety of his best friend, and because of that he had every right to be worried.

“Ora”

“I know, I know, I shouldn't be so worried, but what if he canceled at the last minute? Or if they got mugged or kidnapped on the way here?? What if-”

Just when he was about to go on a long ramble of worries, the gates to his house sounded, indicating that Noriaki was here.

Star immediately disappeared and Jotaro tried to go over without looking worried for his friend, but it didn’t exactly work, since the moment Noriaki laid their eyes on his friend, he giggled.

“Worried about me?” They asked while his friend was opening the gate for them. While not outright answering immediately, Jotaro just looked away frustrated. Obviously he got caught.

“How do you expect me not to be worried?” He looked at his friend a little annoyed by the fact that his friend had noticed he was tense when he looked over to greet him from the gate.

Noriaki sighed by that. Don’t get him wrong, he was glad his friend cared about him, and he wasn’t usually like this, but since Noriaki was having problems this week with their spine, Jotaro was bound to be worried a little more than usual “I’m not made out of porcelain” He said, not annoyed, just a little tired.

Jotaro moved over the gate to let his friend walk in as he spoke “I know you’re not made out of porcelain, but you know anything can happen to you while you’re alone” He closed the gate behind them and walked over next to his friend, waiting to see if his friend had anything to say.

“Yeah, I’m aware, but don’t worry so much about me, you look like my dad doing so” They looked up a bit to look at him and laughed a little, trying to sound reassuring ”I’ll be fine, JoJo!”

Jotaro shot a small smile by the use of his childhood given name before pulling his hat down as the both entered the residence. He had grown so attached to that nickname that even while choosing a new name for himself he wanted it to sound similar to his nickname. And of course, on the trip his grandfather had to use the nickname while in public, and Noriaki absolutely loved it, hence as to why they usually refer to Jotaro as “JoJo”.

He doesn’t mind them using the nickname though. He actually liked the way it sounded coming from Noriaki. It was nice.

Two hours had already passed since Noriaki got here. They both played board games, read books (more specifically Marine Life and Biology books since Noriaki enjoyed it when Jotaro gave some marine facts), and were now setting up the TV to watch a movie while waiting for their food to arrive.

“Sooo.. What are we watching again?” Noriaki asked while turning to Jotaro, who was currently setting some cushions on the floor.

“Uh.. some wester horror movie I found not long ago” He answered, still not looking over to his friend “I think it was named after the words ‘Bye-Bye’, or somthin’ like that” He finally looked to his friend who was waiting for him to finish setting up the cushions on the floor.

“Hm.. sounds interesting enough”

Halfway through the movie, Noriaki was already closing his eyes, claiming that the villain of the movie was ‘uglier and uglier every time he was on screen’. Jotaro just laughed whenever his friends closed their eyes.

By the end of it all, Noriaki was already asleep on his friend’s shoulder and Jotaro was on his way to do so, but decided to turn everything off before his eyes betrayed him.

He took one look at his friend’s sleeping state. He thought they looked handsome while sleeping. So peaceful..

Before his brain could tell him to stop, he had already followed his heart and gave the redhead next to him a small kiss on his forehead, filled with the love that he thought was not corresponded.

Not corresponded

The poor raven haired teen thought his love wasn’t matched by his best friend. After all, they were friends for a reason.

The thought of his friend never reciprocating his feelings left him with a bitter taste on his tongue, but before he could taste a little more, his friend woke up and looked at him, still a bit sleepy, but conscious enough to smile a bit.

“Never thought you’d do the first move..”

Wait.

What?

“What do you mean?” He asked. Honestly, out of all the things he expected, this answer wasn’t one of them.

“You heard me, I didn’t think you’d make the first move, I always thought I’d do it and you’d reject me immediately..” Noriaki mumbled a little about that last part for himself, but given that Jotaro was next to him, he heard him loud and clear.

Jotaro couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His best friend, his first crush, had confessed to having feelings for him.

But was scared of rejection. Just like him.

He immediately hugged Noriaki, not too hard of course, and sighed.

“My God, I can’t believe it. All this time, I never had the guts to confess to you for the same reason..”

Noriaki giggled slightly and hugged him back. “The all mighty, Kujo Jotaro, was scared of rejection, and from me! Out of all the people in the school that swarm all over him every chance they get, it had to be me!” They started laughing into Jotaro’s chest, trying his best to be muffled. It didn’t work.

Jotaro just rolled his eyes playfully and held Noriaki by his chin as their laughter died down slowly. He smiled at the sight of that.

“So.. what are we? I mean, we both like each other, so I guess that makes us something, but I don’t know if you want us to be something..” Jotaro sighed as he spoke, not knowing how to proceed.

“I’d love for us to be something, do you feel ready to be my boyfriend, JoJo?”

Jotaro just stayed silent and looked away for a bit, thinking of an answer, before turning back to his friend and nodding.

“I’d love to be your boyfriend, Nori”

They both giggled and gave each other a small peck on their mouths. It was quick, but for their first time doing it, it felt amazing.

They could both get used to this, to loving each other at their own pace.

Guess what movie they were watching
