The first thing Kim Roksu saw when he woke up was: nothing, he felt like he was floating in the empty nothingness, everything around him was dark and confusing however it was also warm and somehow cozy, it made him feel peace for the first time in many years.
He doesn't know exactly how long he was floating in the cozy nothingness, however, he didn't want to get out of there.
Sadly, for Kim Roksu, his life is based on things never turning out the way he expects.
Waaaaaaaaaaaa-
It was with the cry of a baby that Kim Roksu felt himself being awakened from a great and deep sleep, as if a big bucket of cold water was poured on him and pulled him out of such a quality and peace-filled fantasy.
He grimaced at the sound and the cold that hit his body, before realizing that the horrifying and unbearable sound was coming from himself.
Although he tried he could not stop crying, the cold air that hit his body made him shiver and he felt really annoyed to be interrupted from his deep sleep.
After a while she stopped screaming, although she was still crying, it was not as loud as before and let him take a look around, however, all his eyes could catch were blurry black and white spots, he tried to focus his sight until he came face to face with a woman.
"My God, the fourth prince is shivering with cold, what are you waiting for? Get a blanket quick!"
After the woman said those words, the whole room fell silent.
All the maids and women in the hallway could only stare in bewilderment at the woman who lay tiredly in bed after having glanced at the baby in her arms.
"Fourth Prince? You call that child the fourth prince? Who do you think you are?! How many men have you slept with to get pregnant by one of them and then say that the child is his majesty's?! Huh?! How dare you deceive his majesty the king?!
A woman in the hallway could not stand it any longer and shouted, after which they all began to whisper among themselves.
"Has Miss Olivia really deceived his majesty? I can't believe it!"
"To think that, even though she's one of the king's favorites she can never get enough..."
"Red hair, how could he be the son of his majesty the king?"
Kim Roksu could only look at the woman holding him in her arms without being able to understand anything, a while ago he stopped crying in the hope of hearing what everyone was whispering, after the woman's scream the whole room became a total chaos as they pointed and accused the woman holding him in her arms who he assumed was his mother.
He still couldn't fully understand what was going on around him, but while everyone was whispering among themselves he took some time to analyze his own situation in which he realized one thing: he became a baby.
Impossible to believe, these were things that only happened in reincarnation fantasy books, but considering how their world had managed to become and live through an apocalypse firsthand, reincarnation no longer sounded like such a strong or surprising theme.
The woman holding him could only look around with pursed lips as she was accused of betrayal, she hugged her baby tighter and opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by the arrival of someone else.
Zed crossman, his majesty the king.
Impressively everyone in the room immediately fell silent.
The king looked coldly at the woman on the bed as he approached with slow steps before his gaze fell on the creature he held.
All that could be heard was the sound of the king's shoes until he stopped near the bed, he didn't say a word as he looked at the red-haired baby, feeling the man's intense gaze, Kim Roksu looked up to return his gaze.
Two pairs of beautiful blue eyes met.
Everyone in the room held their breath as the man and the baby looked into each other's eyes, waiting for the child to start crying because of the king's presence.
However, it didn't happen, Kim Roksu was beginning to feel uncomfortable from the look the king and the rest of the people in the room were giving him, he could feel the slight trembling of the body of the woman carrying him.
After a few long seconds (which felt like hours) the king looked away seemingly satisfied as he called for a maid.
"You, take the fourth prince to another room with the healers to do a check-up on his condition and wrap him well."
The maid flinched however quickly went for the red-haired baby to comply with the order, but her actions were interrupted by the words of the woman who had screamed earlier and caused chaos in the room.
"Your majesty how can that child be-?"
"Miss Sophie, are you questioning my decisions?"
Sophie quickly lowered her head and shook her head in denial, the king looked at the woman for a while before once again ordering the maid to take the fourth prince to another room and the other people in the room to leave.
The maid once again went to the baby, however, this time it was Olivia who prevented them from taking the child in her arms, she looked at the king with pleading eyes as she said.
"Your Majesty! I beg you, please do not separate me from my son, this is all just accusations I would never-"
"Quiet! Olivia, I know what you did and what your real purpose was in coming here."
With those words a nearby knight unsheathed his sword and pointed it at Olivia who had managed to take the red-haired baby from his arms.
The maid quickly turned away with the child in her arms and left the room with some healers behind her leaving the room alone with the king, Olivia and some knights, meanwhile Kim Roksu could only hear the voice of the king as he moved farther and farther away.
"I don't want to see your face ever again."
A few footsteps were heard as the woman shouted
"NO! YOUR MAJESTY PLEASE DON'T DO ANYTHING TO MY SON! PLEA-!
A piercing scream was the last thing Kim Roksu could hear in the distance.
It was also the last time he saw the woman who could have become a great mother figure for him in this new life.
After these events Kim Roksu realized that this life was not going to be easy at all.
