Chapter Text
An gets a bright idea during break time during classes.
Stealing kisses.
More specifically, stealing kisses from her two boyfriends and one girlfriend.
It’s a great idea. It’s cute, and the others definitely wouldn’t mind being kissed randomly out of the blue. Although, the last time she kissed Akito out of the blue, the ginger haired had let out a rather high-pitched squeak out of surprise.
Which was kind of funny, considering his deepish voice.
And also Touya’s reactions are pretty cute too. It usually takes him a little bit to process what just happened before he turns bright red in embarrassment.
It’s a stark contrast to his stoic and calm expressions.
Kohane just goes along with it, she adapts the best. She plays along with it the best and even manages to turn the tables on An herself (actually she does that about half the time if she’s not flustered).
For her cute looks and personality, she can be a force to be reckoned with.
But anyway, back to the original thought.
Stealing kisses.
Oh, was this going to be fun.
“Helloo? Earth to Shiraishi An?”
Mizuki waved a hand in front of her face. Oh, right she had been talking to them before she had spaced out
“I’ve returned.” An says jokingly.
“Whatcha thinking about?” Mizuki asked, eyeing the dark haired girl curiously.
“Two words.” An says with a grin, holding up two fingers.
“Stealing kisses.”
Mizuki blinks and then there’s a mischievous glint in their eyes in seconds. “Ohoho, that’s going to be fun.”
“It’s gonna be all out war, Mizu.”
“Fuck, yeah it is.”
—
Touya was first, another one of their study sessions in SEKAI while waiting for Kohane and Akito to come over for practice.
An face plants into her textbook, groaning. A small chuckle comes out of Touya who’s beside her. Math is hard, screw math. Who decided that learning how to graph functions or finding the area of an ellipse was a good idea?
She wasn’t going to be a mathematician or an engineer or whatever.
She was going to be a musician!
That doesn’t need math.
Touya rubs her shoulder before calling out softly, “You have a few more problems to go, An.”
“No thanks.” An answers, voice muffled.
She wishes Akito and Kohane would come here faster so she had an easy way out of doing her math homework. But she knows that Touya and Kohane would both never let her skip out on homework because they care. They care about her and Akito’s lackluster grades (don’t blame them, math and science is the bane of both of their existences). One of the many things An loves about her partners is how caring they are towards each other and her.
Kohane is quiet about it, ever-so-slightly attuning to someone’s mood.
Akito voices it the most, fake reluctance all while doing the sweetest of gestures.
Touya for the most part is subtle about it, small gestures, and simple words.
Touya and his small gestures. Everything from opening doors to giving candy whenever he notices that one of them is a little down. She’s noticed he started keeping lollipops on him just for whenever someone was feeling a little down, and it’s honestly really endearing.
An turns her head, now laying on the side of her head to look at Touya, when she hears a small yet fond sounding sigh escape Touya. The taller boy was no doubt trying to figure out how to get her motivated enough to finish the rest of her homework.
He doesn’t notice the shift in her movement, allowing An to just sit and stare at her boyfriend.
Sorry, but Touya is honestly pretty as hell.
His features are sharp all while being gentle and delicate. His hair is perfectly combed, not a single strand out of place in his half and half. His expressions are usually stoic, calm, and collected which is a contrast to his gullibleness and airheadedness at times.
But An finds it all adorable.
It doesn’t take long for Touya to notice her staring.
“What are you looking at?”
“You.” An says with a dorky looking smile.
She remembers staring at Touya before all of Vivid BAD Squad began dating. How she’d quickly look anyway whenever she got caught, ears turning red as she tried to pretend that nothing happened at all. Now she has the liberty to stare at Touya for as long as she wanted, as blatantly as she wanted.
Touya’s cheeks tint pink a little bit, he still gets butterflies with each and every compliment his lovers give him.
And all An could think was,
Cute.
She lifted her head, straightening her position and stretching her arms a bit.
Touya looks at her curiously, for spending nearly every moment with An, she’s still rather unpredictable.
An sees her chance.
She grabs Touya’s right shoulder, turning the boy towards her before very quickly pressing her lips against his.
It’s light and gentle.
(Like Touya.)
It takes a total of 4.57 seconds for Touya to fully process what happened before his face flushes bright red in embarrassment of what An had done. Thankfully, none of the Virtual Singers were around, Meiko was out, doing damage control to whatever Len and Rin were arguing about, Miku was cheering them on (more specifically cheering Len and Rin on to cause more trouble), and Kaito and Luka were out and about somewhere.
“A-An!”
An gives a sweet and innocent smile.
“What?”
—
Next on her agenda was Akito, after one of the events that the group had participated in.
An lets out a sigh of relief, stepping out of the hotel shower, feeling lighter, and relaxed. Today’s event was a pretty big one and had been weighing on the team for quite awhile. After all, it isn’t very common for a crew full of high schoolers to get asked to perform at an invitational out-of-town event.
So it’s nice that it’s over and done with, a big weight’s been lifted off their shoulders since. Plus, she’s pretty sure that the crowd loved them with how loud the cheers were.
“Good thing we told you to go last, huh?” Akito teases, he takes a glance at his phone. “An hour?”
“I have a skin routine, Akito.” An retorts playfully. She gestures to herself. “Did you think being this beautiful happens over night?”
A gag comes out of Akito, “Gross.”
He turns to their boyfriend, who’s sprawled out on the bed and knocked out cold. That event definitely took a lot of their energy. Kohane is on the bed beside Touya, snuggled into him. Akito then turns back to An.“Nevermind, I was gonna ask Touya to defend me, but he’s sleeping.”
“Nah, dude. You just hate women.” An grinned, nudging him with her elbow.
Akito scoffed at her, flicking the lamp lights off while keeping the bathroom light on. Last time, he stubbed his toe on the bed frame while trying to get to the bathroom blindly in the dark, and he’s not willing to repeat that encounter again.
“I’m literally dating you and Kohane?”
“Oh my god, you like us? That’s so cute, Aki.”
A small groan escapes Akito, it’s quiet as not to bother their other partners who were sound asleep. He gives An an unthreatening glare before asking another question.
“Are we piling onto one bed or what?”
“Of course, we’re dogpiling onto one bed.”
A sigh escapes Akito, it’s fond sounding.
Obviously the ginger should’ve known what An was going to say. Clearly, they were going all just pile onto one bed despite the fact that there was also another bed right there. An would never miss an opportunity to snuggle with her lovers.
And neither would Akito.
Speaking of which, he’s gone to grab the blankets of the other bed to use for him and Touya so that they wouldn’t have to play tug of war with the blanket across the four of them.
Akito’s side profile is pretty, An notes.
His jawline is sharp yet delicate. And Akito eyes are really pretty, they’re a nice shade of olive-green, and while usually they have their fire of passion in them, right now they’re gentle, holding all the adoration in the world. Cool and easygoing is how Akito usually comes off to others, but An knows that he’s really everything but cool.
He’s a big dork, kind of a loser, but is really passionate and hardworking all at the same time.
She loves him all the same.
“Are you gonna get in bed or what?” Akito calls out, noticing An just standing there. He’s already finished moving blankets.
And there it was, her moment.
She gave a nod, but instead of walking over to Kohane’s side of the bed, she walked towards Akito, the ginger looking at her curiously.
She cupped his face gently in her hands before leaning in.
The ginger is rightfully surprised at the sudden action but he adapts very quickly, his hands moving to An’s waist, keeping her steady.
Akito’s lips are warm against hers.
(He’s warm.)
“So we’re doing this?” Akito raises an eyebrow when they pull away, a smirk dancing on his lips.
An wraps her arms around his neck.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
Akito scoffs again. “Touya told me you know.”
“Is that a challenge, Akito?”
“Oh, you bet.”
—
Kohane was last. Her singing partner, the girl she was absolutely smitten for the moment she laid eyes on her. It’s just another sleepover at An’s place.
After a street gig, the group decided to crash her house. It’s not like her parents would really mind anyway.
“I hate the fact that you have a pet snake.” Akito grumbles as Kohane shows the ginger pictures of her pet snake like how a cat or dog owner would enthusiastically show pictures of their cat or dog, but it’s a snake. Except that Akito is scared of dogs, so maybe cats would do.
“What? What’s wrong with Count Pearl?”
“I also hate the fact that he has a cute name.”
Touya and An both chuckle at the interaction.
For Kohane’s cute looks and personality she sure has an interest in kind of scary things. Everything from rollercoasters to snakes. An shivers at the thought of snakes. She’s not the biggest fan and is just a little scared of Count Pearl.
But can you blame her?
Snakes have no limbs.
That’s the scariest part right there.
“I can’t believe we love them.” An says fondly as Akito continues to grumble over Count Pearl while Kohane is showing pictures of him like a Facebook mom would show off her son to a friend. Except it’s a snake and her boyfriend.
“Sometimes, neither can I.” Touya responds with just as much fondness.
After another minute of Akito being tortured, An decides to save him by calling Kohane over to the bathroom to brush their teeth and get ready for bed. By bed she means watching Howl’s Moving Castle for the rest of the night because Touya does not know what Studio Ghibli is and that’s a crime.
And just like that, Kohane hops off Akito and follows An into the bathroom.
“I wonder what your dad thought when you came home with not one, but three partners.” An says jokingly, putting toothpaste on her toothbrush.
A giggle comes out of Kohane, An internally cheering to herself. “I told him beforehand. He freaked out a little bit because one is already a lot, but three? But he loves you guys.”
“Thank god he does, I put on my best jacket to meet him.”
“You mean the one you usually wear?”
An gasps dramatically, she puts a hand over her chest to emphasize her (fake) hurt. “It was a different color, Kohane! How could you not notice the change??”
Kohane chuckles at her closet theater kid girlfriend’s antics, “Sorry, An-chan. But changing colors is the same as Akito-kun wearing one jacket less.”
“Okay, but Aki wearing one jacket less is barely noticeable.” An argues, brushing her teeth. “Guy wears three jackets ‘cause it’s cool, or something.”
Kohane giggles at An rant before they settle into silence. Just the sounds of them brushing their teeth between the two of them.
An directs her attention to Kohane’s reflection in the mirror, a slightly more subtle way of staring than her usual very blatant and obvious stares.
Kohane’s cute.
Soft features and big doe eyes that really enforce the innocent cute image. When she’s also probably the third scariest thing in the existence of mankind. First place is snakes, second is Mizuki and their wild, unpredictable antics.
(Is being attracted to the physical manifestation of chaos a Shinonome thing?
Akito calls her a menace and Ena’s dating Mizuki, and Mizuki is the reincarnate of ‘if god decided to make an ostrich a human’.)
But honestly, An’s absolutely smitten for Kohane, just as Touya and Akito are.
Her voice is sweet and light, practically euphoric, An would say. And her personality is just as cute as she is. She’s kind, shy, and caring. The blonde’s rather attuned to her partners, knowing everything from their individual body languages to the little changes in their mood. And that’s one of the many things that makes Kohane so lovable, how perceptive she is.
An’s taken out of her thoughts when she hears the sound of the sink being turned on.
Kohane’s already finished brushing her teeth and is now taking out her contacts in exchange for glasses.
“Which one are we watching tonight?” Kohane asks as An rinses her mouth.
She’s referring to their month long Studio Ghibli marathon for Touya and in some aspects Kohane because she hasn’t watched Princess Mononoke and a few others yet.
“Howl’s Moving Castle.”
Howl’s Moving Castle is a classic, best Ghibli movie hands down, no arguments (cue Akito screaming that My Neighbor Totoro is better). Also An feels like Touya would like Howl’s Moving Castle.
Kohane goes on to gush about Howl’s Moving Castle as she brushes her hair, and An can’t help but just stare.
Because god, is Kohane pretty.
An’s gaze trails over to Kohane’s lips.
And there it is, her chance.
“I think we should be getting back now, An-chan-”
An grabs Kohane by the arm, pulling the blonde towards her.
Soft and sweet.
(Much like Kohane.)
The blonde freezes in surprise for a second as An kisses her. It doesn’t take too long for Kohane to move, her arms wrapping around the taller girl’s neck, An’s hands moving to Kohane’s waist, keeping her steady.
And when Kohane’s hands tangle into An’s hair, her mind is void of any thought, just like that.
Kohane is the one that pulls apart despite An wanting more, they still need to get back their boyfriends.
“So is that what Akito-kun and Touya-kun were talking about?” She asks, looking right at An.
“Hm?”
“Stealing kisses.”
Oh, so Akito and Touya told Kohane.
“I hope you know this means war, An-chan.”
An grinned.
“Bring it.”
