Chapter Text
It happened so fast that the young boy with white hair could barely remember what really happened, he remembered as if through a fog that he was supposed to meet his good friend Hide, who was a very friendly person however for some reason the young Ghoul was quite nervous.
He couldn't remember what the reason was.
He finally opened his eyes however his vision was quite blurry, but that didn't stop him from noticing that the room he was in was stark white.
The gray-haired man concentrated for a while trying to remember how he ended up in that room, or where he was, but that soon faded away as he recalled the meeting in the park where it all probably started.
He wasn't alone at it, of course, as he met with his friend Hide.... but that one came with someone else, a rather tall Raven-haired man whose name and who he was, the gray-haired man couldn't remember, so he blinked again, this time trying to focus on the present and his whereabouts.
Fortunately for the boy, his vision was finally returning to normal.
Blue eyes.
This was another thing the boy remembered, the man who came with Hide had such eyes, which were quite pretty and I even liked them. He recalled that the blond man had introduced this individual to him and that he was also quite nervous or more insecure because of this, but he couldn't remember why.
Why did he have such trouble remembering it?
He couldn't remember.
Eventually his thoughts returned again to the room he was in noticing that he was lying on a bed with heartbeat monitoring cables taped to his chest.
The snarl wondered if this was the second time he had been in that place, as it seemed all too familiar.
Amon.
Another thing that came to mind for the boy lying in bed. It was the name of that blue-eyed robed man.
Amon Koutarou.
This man was also quite nervous during the meeting which the early gray-haired Boy recalled, but he was not too eager to look the lower man in the eye.
Eventually, after a while, the teenager realized that he was in the hospital, but he still did not associate why, and where the rest of his companions were.
So with his thoughts he tried to go back again to that encounter in the park, trying to remember who Amon was.
Dove.
It was the inspector he had spared when Touka had to fight his friend earlier.
The next thought in the boy's mind was whether Amon knew that it was then that he fought Kaneki, whether Hide knew that this one was half ghoul...?
Where is Hide?
Where is Amon
More questions without answers, which only the gray-haired man could give himself by crawling deeper into the recesses of his memories.
Eventually he remembered that the blond was aware that his best friend was a bloodthirsty killing machine.
He didn't tell anyone about it because the man had asked him to keep it a secret for the sake of Touke and the rest of his new friends that Ken cared about.
How did Hide know Amon?
Again, a question he couldn't answer so far.
He finally decided to rise to sit down, which was difficult, however, because of the ever-present pain in his body, the reason for which he did not know, which was not a good sign.
The blond boy brought the inspectors newspapers, which is probably how he met this Amon. However, it didn't further explain why the boy decided to meet the other two at all.
Where were they anyway!
The white-haired man looked around the room seeing nothing but his bed, a few cabinets on which to place a vase or something else and medical equipment, he was alone in that room.
Pushed, he decided to return to the memories of the meeting that ended in a vague way.
He had been talking to Amon, but couldn't remember what topic or what the conversation was about at all, Hide didn't speak throughout the conversation until they finally left the park, but the gray-haired man couldn't remember where.
Eventually the Boy could hear the door opening k noticed a middle-aged woman walking toward him, who immediately put the youngster back on his back with a gentle motion.
- You should lie down and rest. It's a miracle you survived! - said the woman checking the records on the machines and assigning something to the card she was holding in her other hand.
A miracle...?
What must have happened for Kaneki to survive only by a miracle?
This question began to plague his thoughts.
Finally, slowly everything began to come to him.
After the park, they went together to Koutarou's car to go to Anteiku, but why did they go there at all? Was their trip even successful...? What happened...?
Eventually, the answer a all the boy's questions arrived... although it was more comparable to someone coming from a bot through a door with a chainsaw into a room and cutting up everyones head.
He remembered in the end.... reflexively starting to hyperventilate.
They drove in a relatively quiet car driven by Amon, with Hide sitting next to him and the gray-haired man sitting in the back behind Koutarou in the passenger seat.
They were driving to Anteiku.
Throughout the trip there was a rather awkward silence that no one was eager to lrzerwacy, so the blond man focused on observing the sights outside the window.
The gray-haired man, on the other hand, glanced from time to time with the help of the front mirror at his new acquaintance, who looked more pensive than embarrassed.
He was thinking about the whole situation and what he should think about it, which, however, was eventually interrupted by something that was to dream of Kaneki for the rest of his life.
From the opposite direction came a car whose driver probably lost control of the machine and it slammed momentarily into the car in which the three were riding.
Darkness...
The next thing the white-haired man saw was the badly mangled body of Amon, who was crushed by the second car, blood and guts of the man were in almost every nook and cranny of the vehicle, Hide didn't end up any better.
The blond man's legs were twisted very unnaturally in opposite directions and his skull and face were pierced by sizable shards of glass.
Fate also did not spare the gray-haired man, who was in excruciating pain in his legs and his head was spinning more than after a roller coaster, not helped by the fact that Ken was forced to stare at this macabre sight with tears streaming down his face, until finally fainting gave me temporary relief.
Tears.
This was the thing that came back to him again, they flowed down the boy's cheeks without soaking his hair and pillow.
- HIDEEEE! - he howled in a weeping voice, and the nurse who was further in the room gasped in surprise.
The gray-haired man screamed and cried, cursed his fate and threw himself in the bed in despair, causing the woman who was in the room with him to be forced to call in several other medical workers who held the younger man who was howling in despair after his friend took off.
Eventually he could feel those poking something into the bend of his elbow, which would have surprised him if the boy wasn't broken down now.
Finally, he slowly began to calm down realizing that the doctors must have given him something to calm him down or put him to sleep because his eyelids were sticky, but his tears flowed continuously.
- Hide... Hide... hide... hid-eee... - he preferred his friend's name with each passing moment losing more and more strength until finally he drifted off and his vision was replaced by darkness.
