Work Text:
Finney tended to mind his own business. He never intentionally bothered anyone, and he always kept to himself. It was in his quiet nature.
But Finney wished someone would allow him into their business. Allow him to speak freely and ask him what he thought. Made him feel included. And he never really expected that to come around until he showed up.
Robin Arellano. Finney fell in love with him from the day he met him. It was as natural as water flowing in a stream. He never gave it a second thought. Robin was kind, and he was thoughtful. He cared about what Finney liked, how Finney felt, what made Finney happy, mad, upset, or just neutral.
He paid attention to the small details, and for that, Finney Blake loved Robin Arellano.
But there was just this one thing.
Robin was never meant to be his. Whoever created Robin decided he wasn't meant to stay very long. The goal was not for Robin to fall in love and find joy in another human. It was for him to live his intended 14 years and then move on to be another lost soul floating in the atmosphere.
So when he fell in love with that beautiful boy, Finney Tobias Blake, he was breaking the rules. He lived under the conditions that he would never get too attached to ANYONE, and he broke those rules.
Love can and will get you killed. And Robin Arellano was proof.
