“Oh Wow! A chaos emerald!” I exclaimed. For context, I was just wandering around the area for a good portion of the day wondering where I could find Sonic so I could (hopefully) tag along on one of his adventures. Just when I was about to give up and go back to my village, I saw that streak of blue that I‘d recognize anywhere and love so much along with a certain two tailed fox trailing behind him. I hurriedly ran after them shouting, “HEY! SONIC!! TAILS!! WAIT FOR MEEE!” After I FINALLY managed to catch up to them(and catch my breath), I gave Sonic one of my affectionate hugs and told him once again how much I love him and then told them both that I wanted to tag along and join them. Tails didn’t mind, but Sonic was more reluctant but he eventually gave in! So we were all just running around until something caught Sonic’s eye and well, here we are.
“ You don’t normally see them lying around in the open!” Tails stated equally shocked as I was.
“Well then, guess I’ll just help myself!” Sonic’s chill demeanor about everything will never cease to amaze me. But just as he was about to grab the emerald, something sped by in a flash and once said thing slowed down, it was… O jeez…
“M-Metal Sonic!” By instinct, I slowly backed away and put my hand up to cover my mouth. Tails looked just as spooked by his appearance as well. My mind instantly goes back to the time when he kidnapped me on Little Planet. Was NOT the best experience for me. Highly don’t recommend it. I felt so helpless, especially after I told Sonic that I would follow him wherever he went. How embarrassing that was that I couldn’t even defend myself in front of my true love.
However, Sonic wasn’t unfazed. He just started taunting Metal by suggesting how they were gonna fight. A high speed battle race was high on the list. Surprisingly, he just left, shocking all of us with the emerald in his hand. As Tails and I were trying to keep up with him, Metal started ascending up into the air with his jet which left us out of his reach. That was until he suggested that I give him a boost.
But of course, I got into my feelings and started giving him positive reinforcement. “ You’re a wonderful person and people say nice things about you!”
“Vertically…”
“O-Oh sorry about that..heh”
Come on Amy, snap out of it! I mentally reprimanded myself. So as he curls into a ball and builds up his speed, I hit him with my hammer at just the right moment and he flies high up into the air. He attempts to reach for the emerald, but Metal then boosts his jet that’s on his back and flies off leaving Sonic just in the air emerald free. Even as he’s free-falling, he’s still unbothered. Most likely because he knows Tails will catch him. But instead of Tails, it was Knuckles. He begins to tell us about how his metal counterpart came to his island and stole one of the chaos emeralds that one of the critters found. He also mentioned how his metal counterpart was about to endanger the critters' lives to obtain it,but he managed to save them, which made me feel relieved. But even so, how could he do something like that? That was just downright cruel and mean.
“ Dr.Eggman must’ve sent them after the chaos emeralds. Whatever the reason was, it can’t be good” Tails concluded. “That’s the spirit kid!” praised Knuckles, hitting his arm clearly to hard cause Tails flinched and yelped in pain. “Yeah!, we’re just the heroes to get the job done!” Sonic boasted. I can’t believe this! I felt like I was on cloud nine! I’ve actually managed to join them at the beginning of the adventure! I get to see all the action! All of the-
anddddd they just ran off without me. Leaving me in the dust.
“....OH COME ON!! REALLY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!” I shouted even though I knew that they couldn’t hear me.
“Huh?” I noticed something on the ground. It was Tails’s radar that he also mentioned earlier that he was going to use to help track the emeralds.
“YOU EVEN FORGOT THE EMERALD RADAR!” I shouted once more and waved my arm that was holding the device frantically. Still no response but the breeze of the wind.
I sighed deeply, my facial expression turned into a downcast look. “How am I supposed to prove myself to you guys if you won’t even give me a chance?” I muttered. As previously mentioned, I hated being held captive against Metal Sonic and after the real Sonic saved me, Not only did I swoon even more over him, but I made a vow to myself that I would get stronger so I could join them. Even with the hammer that I obtained and managed to master, it still wasn’t enough. I’m not gonna lie, I felt like a joke…
…Is what I WOULD’VE told myself if I let my negative emotions/thoughts get the best of me. Even though they left me behind (for the 20th time but hey who’s counting?), I couldn’t give up. I refused too. That’s not who I am. You wanna get them to notice you Amy Rose?, you just gotta do things yourself. I tell myself boldly. And what better way to do that than to find some people that are willing to help you find some of the chaos emeralds and bring them to team Sonic along with the ones they found. The look on not only their faces, but Sonic’s face would be so worth it. He’ll have to respect me by then and then let me join his team!
With that encouragement in my mind, I walk off with determination to find some people who would be willing to join my OWN team.
