“Steve, seriously?” But before Eddie knows it, Steve is out the door in the freezing winter. Eddie stumbles to the door, He sees Steve’s car driving out of his own driveway, “ Steve !” No matter how loud Eddie yelled, Steve still drove away. Eddie sighs as he rests his face in his hands.
Eddie has no energy to walk back to the trailer park, Steve was on his way to get home but he somehow got him to drive him away. Steve surely won't actually break up with him because of Eddie planning to leave Hawkins so it wouldn't be creepy for Eddie to sleep over? Steve would probably be back by the next morning, he doesn’t normally hold grudges anyway
Fuck that about Steve not holding grudges because it’s the next morning now and his car and Steve himself are still not here. Eddie turns to Steve’s phone and walks over to dial Robin Buckley’s phone number.
It rings for a while until he hears a very sleepy “Hello?” from the one and only, “Hey Robs, um..” Eddie all of a sudden feels awkward, if Robin asks why he's asking her where his boyfriend is, she’ll ask why and he doesn't want to explain why he made Steve Harrington start crying
“Well? Spit it out?” Robin is clearly getting grumpy about Eddie possibly calling her at 6:31 am on a Sunday, “Steve and I had a disagreement last night, he drove off, and he's still not home. Is he over at yours?” He hears Robin chuckling “I can’t tell if your joking or not Munson, But Nah, I haven’t seen him” Eddie sighs
“Do you have any clue where he is? Maybe Nancy knows Eddie knows he sounds desperate and sounds like Robin too as she hears her giggling again “Nancy’s with me, you two playing a joke on us?” Eddie doesn’t wanna know why Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley are in the same bed at 6:34 am
“Robin, this is serious.” That gets through Robin “Shit, Sorry dude, I thought you were joking” Eddie sighs, it’s obvious that Steve isn’t there but he still wants to check “Is Steve there or not?” He hears Robin whispering to somebody and someone sounding like Nancy Wheeler responding “No, Nancy hasn’t seen him as well” Eddie slams the phone back down.
It’s officially noon and still, no Steve, Eddie at this point has called basically the whole party and gone around town with Hopper but there is no sight of him, Guess the chief could notice since he tries to help “Listen, we’ll explore more later with the rest of the group but I’m sure , he's fine” He better be.
Joyce and Hopper decide to host a dinner at (the newly fixed) Hopper’s cabin, They order food and talk.
“He’s probably fine, maybe he just needed a break?” Jonathan points out, it makes Eddie feel a little stupid because it makes sense “He hasn’t been at work though” Robin butts in “And?” God, Eddie sounds so clingy “Steve’s only had like one or two days off for all the time I’ve known him, He wouldn’t skip work just because he's upset.”
Everybody goes silent. “I can try” Jane looks directly at Eddie “El, You're still tired from the fight with Ve-” Mike places a hand on Jane’s shoulder “I can try” Jane snaps her head towards Mike, and he backs off.
A few minutes later El has a blindfold on and sits in front of the white TV screen, “If you find him, can you tell him I’m sorry?” Eddie tries to speak but gets cut off by a sharp “Quiet” by the famous Eleven “Okay.” Eddie won’t admit but that hurt a little.
“6522 Cherry Oak Drive” Eleven all of a sudden spits out and everyone seems to understand it because they all look horrified except for Eddie “What does that mean?” Eddie whispers to Dustin sitting right next to him “Brimborn Steel Works? Remember the flayed?” Eddie doesn’t understand a word he just said “Whatever, you might just get a real-life example” Eddie hasn’t seen Dustin so worried since the fight against Vecna
“Is Steve or his car there?” Dustin asks, “No, it’s empty” Everyone sighed in relief, But Joyce sits down by Eleven “Sweetheart, We’re looking for Steve, Can you find him?” Eleven takes a deep breath. When it starts to take a while, Eddie butts in this time “Can you find a BMW 733i? A dark red one with the numbers, 3Ds46T2 on the back of it?” Everyone turns to look at Eddie “What?”

What feels like hours of Eleven looking, she keeps only finding past memories. Turns out she has been in there for too long since her nosebleed is nearly reaching her chin. “Kid, I think you're not gonna be able to find him.” Hopper almost sounds depressed telling El that fact since she is so, determined.
El takes the blindfold off with tears running down her face, “I can’t… I can’t find him.” Everyone nods in acceptance.
The rest of the night, everyone just eats and talks.
“Nobody is safe right now, Vecna is alive and Steve is all alone!”
“We don’t know just yet”
“This is just another Billy situation!”
“Everybody needs to just calm down.”
“Why don’t we go look then” Everyone turns to look at Hopper, it’s quiet “I agree, let’s go.” Eddie stands up and all of a sudden, everyone understands how scary this situation is.
Everyone splits up into different groups. El, Max, Eddie, and Hop go in one car. Mike, Lucas, Nancy, and Jonathan in the other and rest on foot. “Where is somewhere we haven’t checked?” Max exclaims from the back seat “We checked everywhere Red, El did you see any signs of him being in danger?”
El nodded, clearly still tired “I saw a car crash, I saw him walking looking pretty mad and, him crying” Eddie nodded and turned his eyes back in front of the road as they pulled up to Brimborn Steel Works “Just to be safe” Eddie mumbles to himself “Just to be safe” Hopper repeats.
Hopper’s ready to open the car door but Eddie quickly ends that “Hey, No, He’ll be more annoyed I’ve gotten this large group of people worried about him for possibly no reason. I’ll go.” Hopper simply nods.
Eddie hops out of the car and starts walking toward Brimborn Steel Works where he notices the crashed car El was talking about.
