Chapter 1: Yuu Ishigami’s lesson

Chapter Text

Narrator: Miyuki Shirogane is leaving Japan in a few days. Reminiscing about the old days, Shirogane and Ishigami are sitting under the tree.

Miyuki: I've been curious, that day you had to take Iino home, how did it go?

Ishigami: Oh , that? It was a bizarre experience, you know. I didn't know what to do. How do you even help someone in a situation like that? A stalker? I'm more used to helping behind the scenes. It was a handful, but of course now I know it wasn't really that bad...

Miyuki: Yeah... again I'm sorry I couldn't tell you it was a P.I. hired by Shinomiya's family. It's just that Hayasaka advised me against telling you guys too early about it, so that the PIs would not be suspicious that she was onto them.

Narrator: THAT WAS A LIE! In the recent months Miyuki Shirogane and Miko Iino's friendship had grown to the point that he knew that Miko Iino was in love with Ishigami. Shirogane was well-aware of the importance of not wasting time in the case of love. Should Yuu Ishigami reject Miko Iino or give her a chance, it'd be best for everyone involved if it happened sooner rather than later. A man that was not afraid of lying to achieve his objectives, especially when it comes to helping others. He hid the true nature of the situation from his friends in hopes that it would speed up the process.

But still, he felt sorry about hiding the truth and causing his friends unnecessary stress. Maybe if it really helped out with their romantic lives, it was worth it? But his friends' behavior made it impossible to tell if anything really changed. The days of being in the dark about the outcome of his actions soon became weeks. A desperate Miyuki Shirogane was getting tired of this mystery and would rather solve these doubts before leaving Japan. And thus Miyuki decided to take a more direct approach in acquiring the relevant information.

Miyuki: I remember you said this before, that you help her out in secret, but you never elaborated on it.

Ishigami: Well, you know true selflessness asks nothing in return. The most correct way of helping people is when they can't ever find out what you did. That way you make it clear that you don't want to take any advantage of the situation.

Miyuki: Right... Hmnn. I don't know... I am not sure that's quite right. Sure, that would be the most selfless approach. But I don't think it will necessarily be the best result for everyone as a whole.

Society runs on teamwork. Relying on others is not an act of weakness, if anything, I believe not wanting to rely on others would be a weakness. If you help others and then they help you, then you can help them again and so and so., Then everyone can feel supported.

Ishigami : Wow Prez! you got truly philosophical this time! But I think my method has worked out the best for me.

Miyuki: How would you know which method works best for you without trying both? Did you ever try telling her what you did and seeing how it goes?

Narrator: Shirogane couldn't believe his sight, Ishigami was silent but not without accomplishing the most neutral face expression in existence. A brick would display more emotion than this. But it was so neutral that it backfired. Shirogane knew this was an attempted poker face, but that knowledge alone was not enough, he couldn't find an opening. This stalemate lasted for 1 second but felt like an eternity.

Maki Shijo: Hey guys what are you doing having an earnest talk between friends without me? I've been looking for you!

Ishigami : Oh, Shijo-senpai. I guess you have Shijo-Shinomiya businesses to talk about with the President, I'll leave you guys alone.

Narrator: Ishigami vanished at quite the speed.
