Summary
Nine months pregnant, Amy Pond is kidnapped while her husband is at work. Mels Zucker, her best friend and the inspiration behind the baby's planned name, makes a vigilante attempt to rescue her. The battle is won, but Melody is lost: Amy makes it home safely, but her kidnappers get away with her baby Melody, and her best friend Mels is fatally wounded in the struggle.
Twenty-five years later, Amy and Rory haven't given up on looking for their daughter, even when the police have. The only detective willing to take on the case is a young genius as old as Melody herself, John Smith - or at least that's what he says his name is. But Smith may be involving himself in a deeper and more horrific mystery than he realises.
