Chapter 1: the meeting
Chapter Text
Marinette jumped up at the sound of her mom calling her name. She groaned, and checked the clock. 7:45. Oh god. She slept in way too long! She sprung out of bed, frantically searched for some clothes to put on, all while packing her bag. The girl quickly got dressed, brushed her teeth, put on her bag and ran down the stairs. “What time is it maman??” she yelled frantically. “It’s seven fifty six dear, hurry up, you’ll be late!” her mother yelled back. “Oh, also, take these macarons! First day of schools treat!” the chinese woman smiled. “Thanks maman!” Marinette said with a smile while she sprinted out of the bakery. She couldn’t afford to be late, since Lila would definitely make up some story about how she’s so lazy and stuck up she didn’t bother to get to school on time, and all her classmates would eat up her every word. Ugh, freaking Lie-la.
As she approached the school gate, she looked at her watch quickly. 7:59. Uh oh. Using unhumane speeds the girl ran up the stairs and fell through the door right when the bell rang to signal the start of class. Marinette sighed a breath of relief. She wasn’t late.
“All right class, please settle down.” Ms Bustier said. Marinette looked around, and saw that the only free seat was in the back. Of course, no one would want to sit next to her, not after what Lila said about her. She slid in her seat, putting her bag down next to her. Ms Bustier cleared her throat. “Now, today we have a new student joining us. He came all the way from England. Please welcome Felix Graham de Vanily!” she said in a chipper voice.
The door opened and a handsome blonde walked in the classroom. He looked around the classroom, his eyes widening as he looked at Marinette, who’s expression was quite similar to his. “Now, sadly the only seat that’s left is in the back next to Marinette, so please watch out for her.” Ms Bustier said while Marinette flinched. She knew her teacher didn’t like her anymore, but her saying it out loud really stung. “Felix can sit with me, miss!” the annoyingly loud voice of a certain italian girl eang through the room. “I actually used to live in England, I once had tea with the Queen! She’s such a nice lady!” Lila said with a smile, that looked more like a smirk to Marinette. “No thank you. I’m content sitting next to Marinette.” Felix stated bluntly. Lila frowned. No one says no to her. “Oh, but Marinette can be really mean. She’s kind of a bully..” Lila said, faking sadness. Felix scoffed, recognising the lie immediately. “I said it’s okay. Do not force me to sit next to you.” He said, looking at Lila. The italian girl looked quite ready to blow up. Still, she said in a chipper voice: “Okay then, Felix! We can talk another time!” Felix was about ready to walk straight out of the classroom, but the thought of finally seeing Marinette again stopped him. He walked to his seat, and sat down, looking at Marinette. “Hello, amore.” He said with a small smile. Marinettes heart skipped a beat as he sat next to him, frozen. After a few seconds she smiled and hugged him. “I missed you, mon cheri.” She whispered with a smile.
The class was silent for a couple of seconds, the the classroom was engulfed in confused yelling. “What the hell??? Why is Dupain-Cheng dating this total model?? He could do way better than that bitch!” Alya cried out. Marinette just looked at her, annoyed. Adrien stared at the pair. Why was Marinette causing so much trouble? Couldn’t she see how much she was hurting Lila? Deep down, he was a bit jelous. Marinette had rejected him after he confessed his love to her, saying that she used to be in love with him, but that changed after his high road comment. How dare his cousin just show up and start dating her? He was such a bad influence, poor Marinette was going to turn out horribly!
Felix was a bit annoyed. Scratch that, she was ready to kill all these kids and their idiot teached. But the smile on Maris face made his homocidal tendencies falter a bit. Still, he stoop up and yelled: “Oh shut up you pricks! Our relationship is in no way your business, so stop being so outraged! Marinette is not a bitch, nor a whore, not any of the quite frankly horrible names you all just called her. If you continue with this treatment, I will make sure all of you get what you deserve. Are we clear?” The class was stunned. They didn’t want to make this new boy mad, he seemed like he has a lot of influence. Plus, he’s really scary. All of them gave a quiet apology and sat down at their desk. But one girl wasn’t as scared as the others. Lila Rossi smirked, planning how she was going to take away Felix from Dupain-Cheng. He couldn’t love her that much, after she showed him what a bully she is he would come crawling to her.

Chapter Text
Marinette could not wait for the school day to be over. She tried not to stare too much at the blonde boy next to her, but who could blame her? Her summer love was sitting right next to her! In her class! In Paris! With zero warning of course. That’s just how Felix is. The girl chuckled at the memory of their first date. She was sitting at her house, sketching some designs. Her maman was out grocery shopping, so she locked the door behind her. A knock on the door interrupted her sketching. Wait, scratch that. A knock on the window. She looked up at the window on her right and saw a specific blonde boy looking at her with a smile. She had to keep her jaw from dropping. You might be wondering why she was so shocked. Well, their apartment was on the third floor, and it didn’t have anything like an outside staircase or even a ladder. She jumped to open the window to let Felix in. The latter just smiled at her and said: “Hey there Mari.” The girl just blinked at him. After a few seconds she walked up to him and smacked him on the back of his head. “What were you thinking, you idiot? You could’ve fallen to your death! And why the hell are you here?!” Marinette yelled, frustrated. But the blonde boy just smiled at her, and asked: “Do you wanna go on a date with me?”
Marinette just stared at him. Finally, she gave an awnser. “You climbed up to my window to ask me this?! Of course, you idiot. Now, let’s wait for my maman to get home, so we don’t have to use the window.” she said with a bit of sarcasm. That was the moment Felix knee that she was the one.
Marinette and Felix were sitting in their last class, science. Ms Mendeleiev was being as tough as usual, so didn’t dare speak to one another. Marinette started anxiously at the clock, which showed that there was one more minute until the bell rang to signal the end of the school day.
Finally, the bell rang, and Marinette and Felix walked out of the classroom. When they reached the hallways Marinette smacked Felix against the wall.
The blonde boys eyes widened. “What the hell, Fe?! You don’t return my calls or texts for two weeks, and suddenly you show up at my school?!” the chinese girl said angrily, but Felix just smirked. This angered the girl even more. “Oh shut up you idiot, I’m being serious!” However, the blonde boy just got closer to her, and whispered: “You look beautiful, my love.” Marinettes gaze softened instantly, and she planted a small kiss on his lips.
“Now, let’s go on a real date again, shall we?” Felix said. Marinette rolled her eyes lovingly. “Fine, but I’m still mad at you.” “Sure you are, love, sure you are.” The blonde said with a smile.
The pair walked down the street holding hands. Suddenly, they heard fast footsteps coming towards them. They turned around, and Marinette’s eyes widened as a vietnamese boy came crashing into her.
“Hey Nettie!” Kim said. “Long time no see, ey. Anyways, whos your boyfriend?” Marinette smiled and hugged the boy. Felix raised his eyebrow at this, but the girl gave him a reassuring smile.
“Hey Kimmie! This is Felix. I met him on my trip to England, and we started dating, but figured long distance would be pretty hard. But imagine my shock when he walked through the door today. Anyways, hows Ondine?” Marinette said with a smile.
Kim scratched his neck, embarrassed. “Well, we actually broke up in august. She was jealous, because I spent a lot of time with Alix. But she and I are just friends! But Ondine couldn’t understand that so she broke up with me. I’ve actually been seeing another girl from swimming for a couple of weeks now, and she’s great!” Kim said, smiling at the memory of his girlfriend.
“That’s great, Kim! I’m so happy for you!” Marinette said, as she gave him a hug. “You and Nino have to come over for a sleepover soon!” “Haha thanks Nette. Also of course! We haven’t had one in a while! Well, have fun on your date guys.” The boy said, winking at Marinette, who just rolled her eyes. “Bye Kim!” the chinese girl exclaimed happily.
“So, who was that?” Felix asked after a few seconds. Marinette realised she hadn’t told Felix about any of her classmates. “Oh yeah, thats Kimmie, I mean Kim. He’s one of my childhood best friends, next to Nino and Chlo. He’s great, he stuck by me after the whole uh, yknow…” Marinette trailed off, not wanting to tell Fe about the Lila-fiasco. She couldn’t let him commit murder his first week in Paris. Felix’s eyebrows shot up. “The whole what, amore? Marinette looked down, fidgeting with her fingers. Felix looked at her, noticing she seemed shy. His Marinette was never shy. “Amore, you know you can tell me anything, right?” Marinette sighed. She wanted to wait a bit before telling Fe about this, but it seemed she had no choice. “Well it all started when a new girl came to our class, Lila Rossi…”
By the time Marinette finished telling the story Felix was ready to murder her so called friends, especially Lie-la. “How dare your friends just abandon you like that without proof?! Didn’t you say Alya wanted to become a journalist? She just accepted what this liar was saying without fact checking anything?!”the blonde boy said, seething. Marinette put her hand on his, squeezing it. “I know it sounds horrible, and frankly, it was. But now i have amazing friends who believe me over her and would do anything for me.” the girl said in a reassuring tone. “And I also have the best boyfriend in the whole world.” she said, giving him a quick kiss. Felix huffed. “Fine. But I want to talk to your friends, to see if they are as good as you say.” Marinette gave a quick laugh. “Of course cheri. Now, did I mention Andrés ice cream to you?”
“Oh my god, this is the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten.” Felix said, his mouth full of. Marinette smiled knowingly. “I told you so, didn’t I?” The blonde smiled at her. “Yes you did, and you were right. As always.” he said with a slight eye roll.
Marinette suddenly jumped. “Oh, you have to come to the bakery! Maman will be so happy to see you!” she said, dragging him towards her house. Felix, a bit ruffled from being dragged, was still happy, since Marinette’s mother was almost as kind as her.
When they arrived at the bakery, the chinese woman came out to greet them. “Welcome to the Dupain-Cheng bakery- Oh my, Felix is that you?! Come on in kids!” the woman said, with a shocked face. She ushered them to a table, and gave Felix a big hug. “I missed you a lot, Felix, but not as much as Marinette.” she winked, and Marinette blushed.
“How come you’re here?” Felix smiled at the much shorter woman. “I missed you too, Sabine. And to awnser your question, my mother thought that I would benefit from spending some time in Paris. But I think she just wanted me to be with Mari.” he said with a slightly annoyed tone.
Sabine smiled. “Well, whatever the reason is I’m happy you’re here! I’ll get you guys some macarons and some coffee, I know both of you are caffeine addicts.” the woman said with an eye roll. Both of them were so sleep deprived, she was shocked they didn’t drop dead randomly.
After they finished eating and chatting with Sabine, Felix realised he had to get home. “It was great to see you again, Sabine, but I really should get going.” he said with a frown. “That’s alright, dear, I’m sure I’ll see you soon.” the woman said, giving him a hug. Felix then turned to Marinette. He gave her a kiss. “I’ll see you in school tomorrow. Bye, my love.” Marinette hugged him, and after a bit she said: “Goodbye, mon coeur.”
