Work Text:

The lavish dinner party for Hermione and Remus' wedding had come to an end, now full of food and wine, the majority of the attendees had moved outside to mingle around the ornate courtyard. Harry looked around and caught Ron's eye. His best friend quickly motioned for them to come over while pointing at his camera, with an eager grin he grabbed his date's hand and wove their way through the crowd of guests over to him. Some people smiled at them as they went, and Harry swore he heard several of them whispering in shock. He didn't care, finally, Harry had the woman he dreamed of for years by his side, he felt like nothing could quell his high spirits.

"Just get into whatever position you like," Ron said to them, gesturing to the empty space set aside for pictures. They had been decorated to provide different backgrounds, some had stone or wooden benches, and there was even a basket of muggle costume props for those feeling silly.

Harry stood behind Pansy with one hand tenderly on the small of her back, he placed a quick kiss to her hair and deeply breathed in her sweet perfume. "Gah how did I get so lucky," he thought to himself.

He watched intently as Ron got into position and snapped a handful of pictures. Before quickly looking back at Pansy, he did not want to take his eyes off of her, not even for a single second. Too long they had kept at a distance but now he could hold her as close as he pleased.

"See Pans, I told you I did not need Veritaserum or anything of the sort to tell you my true feelings." Harry teasingly reminded Pansy as he smiled at her.

Pansy looked up at him and smiled back, her smile always seemed to blow him away, it lit up her already stunning face.

"Well, I'm just glad we both finally came to our senses and quit worrying about what everyone else thought." She replied. "I've known for quite some time I wanted you, Mr. Potter, it was quite hellish waiting for you to admit the same."

She leaned in, softly placing her hand on his chest and kissing him lightly. Her lips felt like the most luxurious velvet against his and he deepened the kiss and wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"Finally!" Ron shouted with an amused huff, "I've been waiting for bloody years for this moment. Always Pansy this, and Pansy that."

Ron shook his head silently laughing before continuing with a joke, "Harry mate, you are like a brother to me you know that. But I'm glad you finally said something because if you didn't I was going to for you. And remember I've got the emotional range of a teaspoon so you know how well that would have gone."

Harry and Pansy laughed along with him and intertwined hands, more than ready to start their new journey together. And now thanks to Ron being hired as the wedding photographer, they had a permanent memory of their first public outing together.
