Work Text:
If you told Ike Eveland that in the future, he would be married to an immortal demon and would be a parent to an adorable daughter whose cuteness rivaled only his Quilldren, he would be very scared that you came up to talk to him about this in the first place. and not believe a word you were saying, of course.
But there he was now, a lovely Saturday afternoon spent with a four year-old on his lap and a demon holding his waist ever so gently as the three of them sat on the couch watching a kid’s show. Ike sighed in contentment as he leaned a bit more towards Vox, hearing a small, happy squeak from the demon. Yet, this was followed by the loss of warmth on his waist and the sound of a grumbling child.
Ah. They were at it again.
Vox straightened up his posture, once again placing his hand on Ike’s waist. This went on for a couple more seconds before the child on his lap glared at her demon father, paired with a pout. If the two weren't having a small fight over the blue novelist right now, Vox would definitely coo at her expression. “Celia, I thought we agreed to share.”
“No!” Celia, their daughter, shook her head, wrapping her arms around Ike’s neck. Ike straightened up, supporting her back with his hand to prevent her from falling. This has been happening a lot lately. He sighed, trying to keep his focus on the show. “Papa is mine!”
“Ike is mine!” Vox fought back childishly. “He was mine first, right Ike?”
Ike rolled his eyes at the demon, “I am no one’s but my own.”
“But, but!” Celia released her hug on her father, staring in the novelist’s eyes with the biggest puppy eyes she could muster. “You’ll pick me over Daddy, right?”
Two golden-eyed individuals were staring at him with intent, waiting on an answer. Ike could only sigh once more before nodding, earning a very dramatic gasp from his husband. “Mhm, sure.”
“Yay!” She cheered, hugging her novelist father once more. Through his peripheral vision, he could see his daughter sticking her tongue out to Vox. “Bleh, Papa loves me better than you.”
“Celia, play nice,” Ike rubbed the small of her back, shooting an apologetic glance towards Vox.
The other could only fake pout, yet he couldn’t hide the adoration and warm feeling inside his chest. If there was any person he would gladly share, or even give Ike to, it would be their child.

Bonus Scene:
That Monday, Ike had to spend a few days away from his family for a business trip he can’t decline going on. Celia clung onto his torso as he was carrying her, waiting for Vox to finish loading up his luggage into the car. It would be hard to load it up by himself with a child clinging onto him like a koala.
“I’ll be back before you know it, Celi,” Ike reassured her, giving her a small kiss on the forehead. “But for now, you have to listen to your Dad, okay? Don’t give him a hard time.”
Celia grumbled, “I prefer Papa over Daddy.”
“Too bad, kid, you’re stuck with me,” Vox chuckled, taking Celia from Ike’s arms. He smiled at the novelist. “Don’t worry, I may not be the favorite but I will try my best to keep this little princess happy.”
Ike smiled back at Vox with warmth, “Thank you.”
The demon almost short circuited when the novelist placed a soft kiss on his lips, standing there in shock as Ike walked to his car. “I’ll call you both when I reach the airport, okay?”
See you soon were exchanged between the family of three, along with the mweh’s coming from Vox. Once Ike's car was away from sight, he could visibly see tears forming in their daughter’s eyes. Vox cupped her face, “Hey, he said he’ll be back before you know it. Papa won’t just leave us two alone, alright?”
“Mm,” she responded, squirming a bit which made Vox think that she wanted to come down.
However, Celia simply gave him a tight hug, burying her face into his shoulder. Vox blinked, “Celi, darling?”
A small sniff, “Daddy is my favorite too. Not just Papa.”
It took a few seconds for Vox to register what their daughter just said, chuckling warmly as soon as he did. He placed a kiss on her cheek, smiling, “So, how about we get burgers for dinner, hm? Don’t tell Papa, alright?”
With tears still in her eyes, yet her mood happier than ever, Celia smiled. “Okay!”
Because there’s nothing else in the world she loves more than her red and blue parents.
