Chapter Text
I mean, did you really had any choice? You were the one that wanted an adventure after all!
You took a big breath and touched the key.
Nothing happened.
You furowed your brows not happy with the result of your action. That's it? Looking at the brand you noticed [F/C] letters forming a sentence "Nib z Linr".
O-kay... What it this? Is this the language of the author?
Turning the plastic-paper thing you saw a bigger text. It was titled "Instruction". Neat! Now you known exactly what to do.
You stood up, closed your eyes and imagined a door in front of you. Then you slowly lifted the hand with the key and put it in the keyhole turning it smoothly with a barely audible 'click'. It started to shine. You could feel its warmth in your hand, and only that 'cause the key itself quickly disappeared turning itself into a light of [F/C] color. As soon as it came in contact with your body you felt warm filling you as you become more happy with excitement. You could swear you glowed [F/C] for a few second. You blinked and found yourself in a completely different place. You weren't in [place] anymore, you stood on grass in front of a tall-ass building made out of some orange bricks. It looked quite fancy. Taking in your surroundings you noticed some blue slime-like substance lying on the grass. You looked at it with a dose of disgust. Not having a choice anymore you walked towards the door and just as you raise your hand to knock the door opened. There, at the other side you saw a boy... or someone that looked like one. They had long dark blond hair that could be easily mistake for some shade of brown and dull blue eyes in which you could see a spark of excitement, or... stress, perhaps? They wore a dark green baggy sweatshirt and dark khakis, they also had one bright pink fingerless glove on their right hand. Their face and hands were all covered in various types of cuts, bruises and burn marks.
"Howdy! So, uh..." They caught catching you staring, you quickly looked away before meeting their eyes. "I'm V! She/he/they, but I mostly use they/them"
"[Y/N]..." Just as you said that V furrowed their brows.
"Oh, no honey. I won't know your name even when you "say it" " Now it was your turn to furrow your brows.
"Wha--"
Before you could finish there was another voice coming from somewhere inside the house. "Are you having a guest V?"
"Yea, give me few minutes!" V yelled quickly and turned to you with a proud smile. "My wife - Axel. Anyway, come on in" They stepped aside making an opening for you. Just as you crossed the threshold you noticed dark red spots at various surfaces. You stiffen and glanced at the "boy" with panic.
"Ignore it" They quickly said closing the door behind you. "I have my blood-vision turned off so I never bothered to clean that up, especially not after the incident..." V looked at the side. You did not wanted to know what that "incident" was, and even if, you knew it was rude to ask someone you just met a few minutes ago about their personal life. With that still in mind you couldn't help but ask.
"Blood-vision???"
"Welcome to Terraria!... You know what it is, right?" You quickly nodded. "Great! That's make things easier. In the menu you have the option to turn the gore off, and so I did! I don't mind blood and all, I turned it off in a joking manner, 'coz like, I found it about a year ago and I had no idea it existed for 10 years! You get what I'm saying?"
"Sure..." You said unsure. "So, why are we in Terraria?"
V shrugged. "Well I own this place. I have a house 'ere, my own server that only I can give the key to, and I can fight! If I were to fight in real life I would be long dead!"
"Key? Like the one--"
"That you got?" They laughed. "Exacly. Not everyone gets the perks of having that key so you can say that you're special"
"Who else has the key? Let me guess, Axel?" You asked in a smug tone.
"Ding, ding, ding! Well, there's also my sisters and one more person that you'll meet in the future... As for now let's talk about what're you doing 'ere and what exactly is this place" V lead you to a small room with a small table, you both sat down.
"I thought we're in Terraria"
"True, but this is only my base that only the people with the key can enter. More importantly we're in Line - my not so humble project"
"So let me get this straight--"
"Diagonal"
You decided to ignore that. "We're in your base in Terraria, which is also located in Linr?"
"Yap"
"So... what is "Linr" then?"
"Why, a Multiverse where all my workers are located! Each one of them is connected in some way, shape or form. Mostly by the MC. There's also my crackfics and shitposts. Like "Dream SMP: Masters of streaming"! Come, I'll show you!" They stood up before you had time to stop them. You sighed and slowly followed them, the trip was short, you bearly passed some doores when V stopped at a much-more-fancy-looking door and give them a light push... or not, it's hard to tell exactly how much pressure did they used from your spot, even if you stood pretty close to one another. The room was big and full of empty bookshelves. "Lulu has something similar. But, unlike her, I have all the books" V said, never stopping in their walk.
"Lulu?"
"The MC. Aha!" They finally stopped. You looked at the shelf and noticed a book with a light green cover where you saw a blond boy with bright blue eyes dressed in a red and white hoodie holding a gun with a proud smile, it was titled "Dream SMP: Masters of streaming". "It's the only thing I published so far. Well, beside that blank page you saw... speaking of which!" And off he gone again...
They walked to the middle of the room where was a pedestal with a book in [F/C] cover and letters written in [gold/silver]. "Nib". You glanced at the smiling "boy" and opened it.
"It was a normal day, then a strange key appeared in front of [Y/N]..."
Now you were just confused. This... book was describing your life... in real time...? How was that even possible!?
"Nib... It that key? The one you gave me?"
"Nib MEANS Key"
" "Key z Linr"..." For some reason you felt like it makes more sense now that you known what Nib means... even when it really didn't. "So... how does this works, this... library?"
"When I publish something this "book" will appear here in material form no matter on what platform I will post. On that note, I'll give you a list of all of those so you don't have to run like a madman"
"Oh, thakns"
"No problem"
"You said that everything was connected... Do that mean--"
"No. You don't have to read everything, unless of course you want to know the Linr Lore, as I like to call it" They smiled and hended you a small book with a dark blue cover and white letters. "Linre glossary. Yes, I made my own language, good luck putting up with that. Be proud 'cause you already know the first word"
"Nib?"
"Yea"
You gave they a "really?" look, V only rolled their eyes with a smile. They then handed you a folded peace of paper. Giving them a quick glance you unfolded it. One side was blanc with a big caption "Canon". You flipped it, on that side there was caption reading "Non-canon" and there was two thing written underneath it.
"- Nib
- Dream SMP: Masters of streaming"
You folded it again and instead opened the book. Sure enough under the "N" you found your key word, literally.
"Nib - key"
"So..."
"More questions?"
"Axel?" V only laughed.
"You'll have a chance to meet her, but not today"
"Okay... So, what am I supposed to do now?"
V shrugged. "Whatever you want. You can go back to reality, read the DSMP fanfic or wait 'til I post something new. It's your life, I can't tell you what to do with it" With that they turned around and headed toward the exit leaving you alone.
Now it was all up to you, and only you...
