Work Text:
"Down with the door, Poole!"
Poole slayed the door with the axe in one movement, but soon dropped the object as he witnessed what was hidden behind it...
For there lay on the floor, above some layers of blankets, Mr Hyde... directly below the warm body of the doctor.
All four men froze.
"But... Jekyll!" said Utterson with his jaw dropping.
"I told you *not* to come in!!" shouted Jekyll.
"Yes, sir" said the porcelain pale Poole, as he exited the cabinet, making his way down the stairs.
Utterson felt this time was right for his questions: "Would you like to tell me what this-"
BANG!
Poole fainted his way down the stairs.
"I'm alright!" he shouted.
"So, what is all this?" he felt his eyes getting filled with fluids, and his inability to close them.
"Well, you see, as the years passed by and we...Why is your face so red?"
"Henry... you're...I think I'm...seeing too much"
"Oh, would you mind stepping off my trousers? Sorry for the sight, but it's nothing you haven't seen before."
The lawyer froze. Hyde was quietly collecting his clothes in the background and examining the scene, staring at his paramour with as much love in his eyes as *roommates* do.
"Are you done, Harry?"
"Yes. So the thing is, Utterson... Gabriel, is that... throughout the years I've known you, you always meant something more than my other friends. Somehow... you were always closer. I still remeber those nights. Yes, Gabe, those nights. When we were studying together... Telling secrets to eachother... Hugging eachother... Kissing... Feeling the other one... Sleeping in the same bed, keeping the other one warm with the heat of our intertwined bodies... I remember all of them perfectly. Our bodies perfectly interlocking in the dark room, your gasps of joy, the feeling of your hands slipping into my trousers... I remember it all. Just as well as I remember the day that you... The day that you proposed to Alice. The same when you told me to go away, and leave the past in the past. The same when you said " I do" to marriage, but "I don't" to us. I missed you. Hell, I even loved you. You were the love of my life. The person I wanted to spend the rest of it with. All my hopes, and dreams were shattered. Up until a few months ago, when I found my Edward. He was not the person I wanted, but the person I needed. He loves me. And I love him. And I still love you, as well. And... you know, darling", he moved closer to Utterson, embracing him without the other one's resentment, who returned the favour by placing his hand on his hip." We even talked about the three of us. Together. Just you, Eddy and me. For the rest of our lives."
"You know, Harry... I still love you too... I only married Alice to satisfy my parents. Why do you think we never had children? I always thought of you when me and Alice were... And I felt so relieved at her death. I was free again from the will of my parents. I just didn't know if you still wanted me"
Hyde moved closer to the two, and put his arms around them. The doctor swiftly moved away from them and grabbed a document from his desk. He gave it to Utterson.
"This is my new and final will. Read it."
"This states that, everything goes to... your two adopted* sons, Edward Hyde and Gabriel Utterson..." He was now choking on his tears."Oh, darlings. I want exactly this."And he sealed his mouth, and pushed it upon the lips of his lovers. His family. The loves of his life. Their pasts were now the past.
