Work Text:
It was the end of a pretty short day at work. The club was closed for this day, so their tasks were rather small and there was no need to prepare for the opening. And, of course, to stay to serve guests. Still, Kita stayed longer, with Seika’s permission, since it was a good place to practice guitar (particularly because nobody would be bothered by it) and there were not many opportunities to do so here.
Sitting on a chair on the stage, she practiced diligently, her hands holding and moving over the strings. It had gotten easier and less painful by now, but they still dug unpleasantly into her fingers. But she didn’t let that bother her as she played.
As she got a feel for the music, she couldn’t help but think of a little melody with the chords she knew pretty well by now. Granted, it was very similar to a song she heard many times before, so it was probably only because she was reminded of it and not that she was particularly imaginative. She tried to play it, stringing the chords together to a little melody. Nothing special, really, but still she was pleased with the results.
Something was missing, though. For some reason, maybe because she was the singer of her band, Kita thought that it should have lyrics. It’s not like she actually tried to create a song, but it did bother her. Unlike Hitori, she wasn’t actually able to just come up with some lyrics, so she had no small amount of trouble to think of something.
“I know… I know what you are called,” she mumbled. “I know… I know what you are doing.” Coming up with lyrics was hard enough, making them rhyme on the fly nearly impossible, so she tolerated the lack of rhymes. “Cannot sleep, cannot eat, I’m obsessed with looking at you.”
Kita blushed when the image of a certain person entered her mind. The reason she was interested in joining the band in the first place. It was fair to say that she inspired the lyrics. That blush grew stronger as she thought of more lyrics ending in what could be a refrain.
“You can only save me… with a kiss. So, k-kiss me… kiss me! Kiss me just once!” As she sang, her voice grew louder and she got more into it, her awkwardness fading. So much so, that she wouldn’t even notice if someone were to enter the club.
At this point, she began to insert her inspiration into the lyrics. “Senpai, I know how you are smelling. Senpai, I know when you are lying…” Until she reached the refrain again. “Ryou-senpai, you can only save me with a kiss.” This time singing it a bit faster due to the longer lines. “Senpai, kiss me! Senpai, kiss me! Kiss me just once!”
It was then, that the face of that very person appeared before her eyes. Kita needed a moment to realize that it wasn’t just her imagination and that Ryou actually stood in front of her. And probably heard what she just sang. “Ah,” she just said. “Awawa…” Unable to get out a clear word and going through several shades of red, she just sat there, shaking as she was incapable of dealing with the situation.
Ryou remained calm, though. She just looked at her with a neutral expression, before she simply said, “fine”. And leaned down to her.
“!!!” Kita’s mind couldn’t process what was happening, as she felt Ryou’s lips against her own. She needed at least two seconds to go from “it feels like Ryou-senpai is kissing me” to “oh god, Ryou-senpai is kissing me”. However, that didn’t prevent her from savoring the moment to its fullest.
A moment that was over too soon, as Ryou pulled back again. She gave her a short nod, then turned around and went off the stage. As she saw her walk to the counter, Kita realized that she must have forgotten her phone that was still lying there.
Right before she finally fully comprehended what just happened and passed out.
