Chapter Text
'Master!'
Frankenstein watched the missiles fly across the sky, anxiety had been growing intensely in his heart. He had finally waited for his Master's return after 820 years, now he will be losing him again because of human, Raizel's duty to protect the weak.
No, he will not lose him the second time.
Even if the cost of this is his own life, he will not hesitate to give up as long as his Master lived.
This life was saved by his Master 820 years ago, it was his since then.
Frankenstein summon Dark Spear's energy, the power he received from the contract, everything he had, and used it to rush towards Raizel's direction. He knew he wouldn't survive after this, he wouldn't have enough power for Raizel to perform Awakening nor the power to stay alive once all is ended.
But still, Frankenstein wanted Raizel to live.
Because he is his Master.
His light.
His love.
Frankenstein's eyes were firm and full of determination, he rushed towards Raizel with the speed compatible to Kertias.
Raizel had been grateful to be able to meet with his Servant. Even though everyone sees him as a treat, a disaster, a traitor to humanity, the mad scientist, the human who sacrified his soul to demon. Still, to Raizel, Frankenstein is the most beautiful being he had ever encounter.
His soul was pure, white as snow, bright as light.
He wants to protect him and the ones that he wanted to protect.
He wants his Bonded to live.
When Raizel sensed Frankenstein's power rose above his limit, when he sensed Frankenstein's determination to sacrifices himself to save him, he was terrified. Raizel could feel Frankenstein's life force burning, shorten drastically as time goes on.
The power he received from the contract, is taking Frankenstein's life. If he doesn't stop him, he will die within minutes.
Humans and his Bonded.
Raizel couldn't have both of them at this rate, not when Frankenstein is killing himself.
'Raizel!'
Muzaka sensed a powerful force rushing towards them, he wasn't sure it's a friend or a foe. More importantly his friend was spacing! He couldn't handle both enemy and a missile! None of them were in the right condition to stop both at a time!
'Raizel! Get yourself together! We have humans to save!'
Raizel came back to his sense, when he decided to activate his skill to stop the missile, a familiar figure appeared in front of him, releasing a destructive power and consumed the missile.
'Frankenstein, no...'
The power Frankenstein released had cost him everything, in exchange, the attack he released is almost the same as the one that Raizel used in a Blood Field. The missile and his power collided, a burst of light caused Raizel and Muzaka to close their eyes by instinct.
When they reopened their eyes, they saw the energy of Dark Spear dissipating. The representative of human's greed of power, the weapon that haunted Frankenstein for centuries, had finally disappeared.
Both of them heard someone coughing, they looked at the blonde who appeared in front of them, blood spill from the corner of his mouth, the wounds he had from the fight with Crombell worsen, his healing ability was not working due to lack of power.
Frankenstein fell from the air, Raizel rushed towards him and caught him before he crashed the building.
'Frankenstein!'
With a look, Raizel and Muzaka knew the man would die soon, and they couldn't do anything to save him. They weren't doctor like Frankenstein, but still they had saw death more than anyone else to know the signs.
The others arrived shortly, and noticed the man in Raizel's arm, chest unmoving, his breathing was so soft that it was hard to notice.
'Boss!'
Frankenstein could feel that he was dying. His vision was blurry, but still he fought to stay awake.
He had to make sure his Master and his Children are ok.
He still has many things to tell them.
And he know he wouldn't wake up once he fall asleep.
'Master...Are you...Fine?'
'I am, Frankenstein.'
'The... children?'
'They are safe. Frankenstein, stay with us, please, just hold on a little long, we will get back home and find a way to treat you.' But you have to stay awake.
Frankenstein knew his condition better than others, he will not survive after all this.
Raizel observed his Bonded's injures, there were bloods everywhere, Raizel is afraid that even light touches will hurt him.
His bonded had never been so weak.
'Frankenstein, does it hurt?'
'I am fine, master. It...doesn't hurt that much...'
Liar.
How could it not hurt with such injures?
Raizel wondered had Frankenstein shed all his blood in the battle and blocking the missile. His wounds had stopped bleading.
'Master...May I ask you a favour?'
'What is it?'
'I would like to go...home.'
Raizel wanted to cry, but still he resisted the urge and nodded to his Bonded who smiled at him. Raizel carried his Bonded in bridal and left without second word.
As the first child among the family, M-21 nodded at Muzaka and Lunark before leaving with his family. They hadn't thought that Frankenstein, their strict, crazy and sadist father would be dead. He is always so strong, guiding them, supporting them, always ready to heal them.
But now, he was being carried in their other father's arm, limps hanging lifelessly.
They had forgotten that he is just a modified human like them.
He isn't a Noble nor demon nor god, but a human being.
Tao had knew everything from headphones and the CCTVs, he sent the kids back before they arrived the household, waited in at the entrance to look at the man they called 'Father' covered in blood.
Raizel thanked Tao for the silent home. None of them wanted to spend time other than Frankenstein right now.
He placed Frankenstein on his rarely used bed, changing his clothes even though his blood will stained it shortly.
The 'children' surrounded Frankenstein, waiting for him to say something.
Frankenstein has a lot to say to them, but he couldn't summon the energy to speak.
Master, can I hold your hand?
Raizel placed his hand on Frankenstein's, holding it firmly hoping that Frankenstein will stay awake longer.
Frankenstein...
Master, I'm tired...
You still have many things to say to the children didn't you?
I did.
So, please, stay awake for a little longer.
But...I can't. Master, please take care of yourself and the children. Promise me to live on the life we had desired, the normal life of human. And forgive me, for not able to be with you, I have broke our promise.
Frankenstein, I promise, and I forgive you.
Thank you, Master.
Frankenstein had finally closed his eyes, breathing stopped. None of them wanted to accept the reality that the man was dead but still, Frankenstein wouldn't like it.
Raizel looked at his Bonded, and did something he should have done long time ago, but never had the courage to do.
Raizel kissed his Bonded for the first and last time.
It was raining, their children shed tears beside them, his Bonded dead in his arms, but Raizel whisper those words to his bonded's ear, as if he could still hear him.
I love you.
