Park Jimin throws back his head and giggles, causing the reindeer antler headband above his fluffy blonde head to almost fling off. He reaches up and quickly rights it, giggling even more as the little bells attached to the headpiece jingle.

Beside him, his best friend, model, actor and current face of Gucci, Kim Taehyung, hands him a glass of champagne. After Jimn accepts it, Taehyung turns and wraps an arm around the alpha next to him, his fiance, to bring him closer as he sings loudly with the christmas song playing in the background.

Jimin smiles fondly behind his glass of bubbly as he watches the lovers. He’s known Tae since the 1st grade and had never thought the beta would ever settle down from the constant whirlwind of his life.  But now, here he is, beautiful, successful, rich and most importantly, happy. His soon to be mate is a well known producer in the music industry, Min Yoongi, CEO of Gloss Records.

Jimin is super happy for them. Taehyung had always been the one person he could count on, from his first departure from Seoul to Paris to California, he had been the only constant in Jimin’s life. And now that Jimin has moved back to Seoul, the circle of his life seems to be getting closer to completion.

Taehyung’s “Prelude to Christmas” party is in full swing here in their spacious condo and Jimin has spent the last hour meeting all the famous friends Tae and Yoongi have invited. The party has been in full swing for about 90 minutes and Taehyung had wanted Jimin to meet Yoongi’s best friend but the alpha hasn’t arrived yet.

He averts his eyes quickly when Tae places a sloppy kiss onto Yoongi’s cheek, holding on to the temptation to tease the couple. Unlike Taehyung, Yoongi is a little more reserved with public affections.

And this is when his nose hones in on and picks up an oddly nostalgic scent of black oak and cardamom. He knows this scent, but can't quite put a finger on how. It’s also odd how, in a room full of scents, he is able to pick it up immediately.

Jimin wrinkles his nose curiously and takes another sip of champagne, eyes flitting around the room. And then they pause and widen as they land on him .

Jeon Jungkook.

It may have been 5 years ago but Jimin could never forget those eyes.

Eyes that are now staring back at him with curious interest.

Jimin shifts his focus quickly back to his friends, pretending nothing out of the ordinary had happened. But his heart is flip-flopping wildly and his blood is racing through his veins. He closes his eyes and inhales.

Around him, the scent of nostalgia intensifies.

“Jungkook! There you are! Finally!”

Jimin’s eyes snap open at the sound of Yoongi’s voice. No. Absolutely not. Jungkook cannot be-

“Jiminie, meet Yoongi’s best friend, Jeon Jungkook of Jeon Financials.”

Jimin slowly lowers his glass of champagne and turns stiffly to the alpha who has entered their small circle.

Up close, Jungkook is even more stunning, even if he’s dressed in a thick, red and white ugly christmas sweater with a bell necklace around his neck.

What are the chances he doesn’t recognize him? Jimin grabs on to that little hope.

“Jimin-ssi. Here you are.” Jungkook’s eyes sparkle mischievously.  “Finally.” he adds on as the corner of his lips turn up.

Jimin gulps as the velvety voice blankets him. Fuck. he’s fucked. Jungkook definitely remembers him.

“These two have talked non-stop about you.”

Jimin clears his throat and offers a small smile, praying it is not as wobbly as he feels it is.

“T-they’ve mentioned you to me too.” he says. Although neither of them had ever mentioned his name or what he did. Just that Yoongi’s best friend is an alpha who works in the corporate world. Jimin can’t believe he never asked for the alpha’s name. Then again, he never imagined a world where he would see Jeon Jungkook again either.

Jimin clears his throat and raises up his empty glass. “Ahh, I am out! I’m going to go get another,” he mutters and turns to Tae. “You want a refill too?”

Taehyung shakes his head and Jimin leaves, unable to get away fast enough. At the bauble bar he had helped set up earlier, he drops off the empty glass and picks up another. His eyes automatically go right back to the party he had just left.

Unlike the Jungkook of 5 years past, this one looks less polished, less picture perfect. This one’s hair is longer, curls kissing his ears and neck, broad shoulders and chest visible even in a sweater that would be horrifying on anyone else. He’s laughing at something Tae is saying, one hand in his jeans pocket, the other holding a glass of red punch.

Contrary to Jimin’s beliefs, Jungkook seemed to have grown up well. Different.

It frustrates Jimin a bit. He looks down at his glass, empty again. He drops it and picks up another, downing it quickly. A happy hum buzzes in his ear and he sighs, satisfied for now. He lets it join the other empty glass on the table and saunters away, watching the small crowd dance on the floor. A jazzy rendition of Please Come Home for Christmas is playing in the background and Jimin smiles. The song is perfect as this is his favorite holiday and he is finally back home in Seoul again after so long. His mother had almost cried when he’d let her know that he was settling down close to her for good. Jimin hums along to the song as he turns around, intending to stay as far away from Jungkook as possible. He skirts the side of the dance floor, dodging under a dancing couple’s elbows and another’s ankles. He almost trips going around a table leg when the scent of cardamom assails him right before he’s pulled up against a firm chest.

He lets out a soft ‘oomph’ as a strong arm winds about his middle, helping regain his balance, at the same time pressing him even closer against the other body.

“Jimin-ssi. Dance with me, hmm?”

Jimin should be upset that Jungkook can so easily maneuver his body around but he’s not. Not really. He’s going to blame his third glass of champagne for that.

Besides, they are due for a conversation again.

Jimin sways a bit on his feet but wraps one arm around Jungkook’s shoulders (those nice, thick, broad shoulders) and lets Jungkook take his other hand in his. Jimin stares at the alpha’s hands, noticing traces of dark ink hidden under the cuff of his sleeve. Hmm.

“Jeon Jungkook. Who would’ve thought we would ever meet again?”

Jungkook raises a brow at him, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips.

“When you left that study, I bid you later, not good-bye, remember?”

“Did you?” Jimin wrinkles his brows as he looks up at Jungkook’s face. Why does it have to be so perfect?

“What is it?” Jungkook asks, noticing that Jimin is squinting at him.

“Just-don’t need to flaunt your perfect memory.”

Jungkook chuckles. “My perfect memory?”

“Yeah.” Jimin hiccups. “Perfect memory. Perfect face, perfect son.” Jmin rolls his eyes.

“Jimin-ssi. I am flattered that you think I'm so perfect.”

Jimin smacks at the shoulder he is holding on to. “I do not!”

Jungkook laughs and twirls Jimin around before bringing him right back into his arms. The omega pauses for a second, room spinning.

When he opens his eyes again, confetti snow is falling around them, music is blasting and people are chattering in the background but all Jimin can see are memories from the past…

Jimin, 21 years old, dark hair and pale skin, full of big dreams, enters the study and shuts the door behind him. He’s swaddled in a thick coat and even thicker scarf around his neck. He’s already small formed so he’s practically a walking laundry hamper.

He grunts as he angrily pulls off his scarf. How dare his grandfather put him in this humiliating position!

Life was hard enough as a dance student, now he must handle this curveball of an arrangement his grandfather had managed to secure before he’d passed away last year.

Jimin slumps into a leather chair, not caring that it was swallowing him deep. Last week his mother had told him that years ago, his grandfather had arranged an engagement between Jimin, and Jeon Jungwoo’s grandson, Jeon Jungkook, in hopes that they would become mates.

Jimin had almost died on the spot when he’d heard. He could not believe the audacity of his eccentric grandfather. Practicing medieval tactics this century? The old man is lucky he has left the world, for as much as Jimin loves him, Jimin would spare no fury at having his decisions taken away from him.

He and his mother had arrived at the Jeon mansion to sever the engagement completely. Luckily, the Jeons had been of the same mind as Jimin and his mother, agreeing to terminate the contract so long as both parties deem it fit.

Jimin had found himself wondering if it is because he and his mother are barely making it as middle class citizens whereas the Jeons are practically royalty with their old bloodlines and lucrative financial ventures. Jimin’s grandfather and Jeon Jungwoo had been best friends growing up, thus they had established the engagement nonsense way before Jimin or Jungkook had even been born.

Jimin sighs. He is in the study waiting for Jeon Jungkook to show up and sign the legal documents with him so the agreement could be abolished.

His mother had implored that he meet and give the alpha a chance but Jimin is not interested. He’s in a relationship and wants to keep his current relationship. He’d chosen not to let MinKi know any details about this situation as they are currently dealing with enough strain already. Minki isn’t too happy with Jimin’s decision in accepting an opportunity to dance in Paris and Jimin is unable to pass the opportunity up, it’s a dream he has been working on for so long. He can’t understand why his boyfriend couldn’t be happy for him.

Jimin fumes, blowing air upwards to catch that stray piece of hair falling over his forehead. Can this fellow hurry up already-

The study doors swing open with a loud creak and Jimin shoots up from the chair he was swallowed in.

His eyes take in the male who walks in, air imposing, just as expected of an alpha. He’s tall, dressed in navy slacks and matching vest, hair perfectly gelled back, pressed white dress shirt and expensive cufflinks shining under the light as he stops before Jimin.

“Park Jimin-ssi, I presume?”

Jimin nods and bows swiftly, not expecting the alpha to smile at him so pleasantly.

“I’m sorry, the office required a few urgent matters before I could steal out of there. Apologies for keeping you waiting.”

Jimin shakes his head, blinking away from the alpha’s handsome face. With those sparkling doe eyes and friendly smile, he looks more boy than a 25-year-old corporal heir.

Jungkook leads the way to the small, round table in the center of the room where the agreement lies. He kindly waits while Jimin gets comfortable again in the chair he’d vacated earlier before settling down on the leather chair opposite. The strong, calming scent of black oak and cardamom besets the room and Jimin fights hard to not close his eyes and inhale deeply.

Fuck. Not only does he look good, he smells good too.

“So. Our grandfathers really tried to take our lives into their hands, hmm?”

Jimin gives a nervous laugh at Jungkook’s attempt at humor. Can he hurry up and just sign the document already? Jimin has a life to handle, he has no time for small talk. But he has to play nice. At least until the agreement is signed.

“Y-yea. Crazy old fellows, right?”

Jungkook grins and Jimin can’t help thinking he resembles a bunny.

“I have to agree. So tell me, Jimin-ssi, your reasons for wanting to terminate this agreement?”

Jimin can’t help it. His mouth falls open.

“W-what?”

“I mean, I get that it is strange and all, but wouldn’t you have wanted to at least meet first before hurrying to dissolve the engagement?”

Jimin takes a minute to gather his breathing. “Jungkook-ssi, I would think you are a person who would hate to have decisions made for you. Our grandfathers having done this shows that they have little to no regard for us.”

“Possibly. Although I believe it is more that they wanted us to have the best.”

Jimin gapes at the alpha. “Best? You consider forcing 2 strangers into a union for life as ‘best’?” Jimin can’t help that his fiery side is showing. This Jeon Jungkook guy is clearly dense in the head if he thinks this was a great decision.

Jungkook chuckles, as if he finds Jimin amusing. “I’ve seen strong marriages come from less.”

Jimin scoffs. “Clearly you are watching too many dramas. There is nothing romantic about our situation. We aren’t star-crossed lovers or true mates who need past interference to come into play as some sort of guide. This is no fairytale.”

“It could be?”

Jimin peers closely at the alpha. “Are you, perhaps, drunk?”

Jungkook laughs and shakes his head. “Not even a tiny bit.”

“Trust me, Jungkook-ssi, I am the last omega you would want as a mate.”

“Oh? Pray tell.”

Jimin rolls his eyes. “Had my grandfather waited until I was born, he would’ve realized that I am too stubborn, too independent, too opinionated of an omega to just give in to nonsense without a fight. My mother can tell you that I hate cleaning, can barely boil water, I can be too demanding, like to sleep in very late and this is just the top few of a very long list.”

“Then perhaps it is a good thing I’m easy to please.”

Jimin frowns at the alpha’s laid-back demeanor. He cannot be serious.

“I am not the type of omega for you.”

Jungkook leans back in his chair. “And what is my type?”

“You know.” Jimin gestures vaguely into the air as he gets up and circles the chair. The alpha is starting to piss him off. “Typical alpha like you probably wants the typical, submissive omega who can cater and cook and clean and wants to do nothing but shop and pop out babies all life long.”

“Hmm. Interesting. I rather doubt I am a typical alpha.”

“Oh please! You are the epitome of typical alphas. The way you saunter in here all suave with your scent all over the place, commanding air and especially now, with how you choose to make fun of me instead of just signing this agreement so we can go our separate ways, live our very different lives and pretend this never happened! I want to be happy, I want to see the world and I cannot do that if I honor this ridiculousness. Now please, set me free.”

Jungkook stares at Jimin after his outburst. His smile has faded but his gaze has sharpened, as if the alpha is staring into his soul and ferreting out all his secrets. Like he can smell Jimin’s anxiousness and current uncertainties.

In the dead silence, he waits for the alpha to do what alphas do best when omegas raise their voices at them. He waits for Jungkook to tell him that he isn’t going to sign, that he would make Jimin pay for stepping out of line.

Jungkook finally clears his throat and averts his gaze and Jimin offers a small prayer, fearing he might have just screwed himself up greatly this time.

“Jimin-ssi. I have no desire to stop you from living your life. Tethered to me or not, you should be happy.”

Jimin watches with wide eyes and bated breath as the alpha reaches over to the table and grabs a pen. And then he signs, right on the line.

Jimin closes his eyes and breathes in deeply when the last flourish of the pen is complete. He’s secured his freedom. When he opens them again, Jeon Jungkook is striding towards the study doors. He turns and gives Jimin one last look.

“Till we meet again, Park Jimin.”

Jimin stirs, cursing out the sun in his mind as the rays hit his eyes. Wait. His bedroom window doesn’t face the bed?

Shooting awake, he sits up and rubs at his eyes and then grabs the side of his head, waiting for the room to stop spinning. When it finally does, he feels the dip and the heavy weight next to him and he inwardly groans, praying he didn’t do something dumb last night.

“Mmph, why are you awake, it’s fucking early.”

“Taehyung? Oh my fucking Jesus, thank God.” Jimin flops back down and koala hugs his best friend.

“Thank God nothing. Your drunk ass caused me a night with my Yoongi-poo. And it’s his first night home in over 2 weeks too!”

“Huh?”

Taehyung yawns and stretches before sitting up. Jimin clings on, whining as he adjusts himself.

“You got drunk last night and Jungkook had to carry you up to my bedroom. You know, he was already going to spend the night here, mind you, but your drunk ass claimed this bed first so I had to get in it with you while Yoongi and Jungkook shared the guest room.”

Jimin pouts at his best friend. “Oops.”

“Save your pout for an alpha who is more susceptible to them, my dear. By the way, speaking of alphas, I saw you and Jungkook last night. Dancing and flirting.”

Jimin tosses his head back and moans. God, no.

“I didn’t-”

“You did too. You even dragged him under a mistletoe and pulled him in for a kiss!”

“Shut up!” Jimin gasps, horrified.

“Look.” Tae grabs his cellphone from the bedside table and finds the video he had captured, playing it for an unbelieving Jimin.

Jimin screeches and launches himself onto the bed, ass up, burying his face into the blankets after he sees the proof that he did, indeed, pull Jungkook down to his height and landed a big fat kiss onto the alpha’s lips.

“He’s hot, isn’t he?” Taehyung smirks and clicks off his phone, deciding to save the other video of Jimin sitting in Jungkook’s lap for later.

“Shut up. No!”

“He’s just your type, too. Strong, built, tall and tattoos.”

“Tattoos?” Jimin lifts his head to stare at his friend.

Taehyung chuckles. “Yeap.”

“Where? I wanna know!”

“Know what?” The door is pushed open as Jungkook enters the room.

Jimin gasps and flies back under the covers, ears and face on fire.

“Good morning, Jungkook.”

“Morning, Tae. I hope i didn’t intrude, the door was ajar so I thought I’d come call you two for breakfast. Yoongi ordered some food and it has arrived.”

Taehyung sighs dramatically as he gets up from the bed, “Leave it to my honey to think of me first thing in the morning.” As he strides to the door, he says loudly, “ Oh, and Jimin was wanting to know where your tattoos are.”

“Kim Taehyung!” Jimin shrieks, sitting up, eyes sending fire Tae’s way. “Traitor!”

As Taehyung sticks his tongue out at Jimin and leaves, Jimin finds himself feeling awkward as he gingerly moves off the bed. He’s feeling all kinds of icky in his t-shirt and jeans from last night. At least Taehyung had been nice enough to take off his deep green sweater with the obnoxiously red Christmas tree on it.

He can feel Jungkook’s amused gaze on him as he tries to stall from meeting his gaze. Jimin clears his throat and awkwardly starts shuffling towards the bathroom. “I-I’m going to c-clean up.”

Jungkook’s quiet chuckle halts him. “Everytime I see you, you show me a different side. You keep me on my toes, for sure.”

“We’ve only met twice.”

“When we first met, you were fiery, determined. Last night you were cute, affectionate and daring. Today, you are shy and embarrassed. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.”

Jimin flushes. Seems this is all he can do in the presence of this alpha.

“Hurry out. Last night you mentioned you have a love for extra garlicky pajeons and I made sure to order you one.” With one last wink, Jungkook leaves the room. Jimin is left floundering, again a blushing mess, wondering whatever the heck else he admitted to Jungkook in his inebriated state.

Jimin twists the fancy, gold spigot of Taehyung’s kitchen faucet and allows his hands to run under the water until it flows warm before he starts to rinse off their morning dishes. He’d had a nice breakfast with the others, enjoying the pajeons and kimchi and rice. Of course, Jungkook had been true to his words and gotten him an extra garlicky pancake. He’d failed to mention that it was also an extra large in size so while everyone else had had a regular cake on their plate, Jimin’s was falling all over the edges. He’d been embarrassed, but secretly touched. Who doesn’t like attention?

His nose picks up Jungkook’s scent before the alpha arrives beside him, picking up a dish rag to dry the wet plates.

“Thank you.”

“Mm hmm.”

Jimin likes the sound of his voice. Jungkook has been nothing but funny and engaging and attentive and Jimin finds himself wondering more than once, if he had been too hasty in judging him all this time.

“I didn’t think chaebols knew how to wash dishes.”

Jungkook chuckles and it sends a spiral of warmth down Jimin’s spine. “There’s a lot of things I can do, Jimin-ssi. Contrary to popular belief, I’m definitely not the ‘typical’.”

Jimin’s cheeks redden at that, suddenly remembering that was what he had called the alpha back then.

“I - I am sorry. Truly a late apology but I was young and stupid and thought my world was ending that day.”

“I understand. I think you handled it a lot better than I would’ve had I been you.”

Jimin hums as he turns off the water. As he dries his hands, he slowly turns to Jungkook so he can deliver another apology. This one really has him embarrassed.

“I also offer up an apology for last night. I really wasn't aware of how powerful Tae’s favorite champagne is so I had way too many.”

Jungkook laughs. “No need to apologize for being drunk, Jimin-ssi.”

Jimin winces. “Ahhh, I'm apologizing for my…action.”

“Action?”

“You know…Tae said I’d dragged you under a mistletoe and pushed a kiss onto you.”

“Mmm. That you did. That's all you are apologizing for?”

Jimin’s heart freezes. “W-what do you mean?”

A devilish glint dances in Jungkook's eyes. “What about using my lap as a chair for the rest of the night after that? Or dragging me out onto the balcony in the cold so we could both taste snowflakes with our tongues? Or attempting to do eggnog body shots off me?”

Jimin gasps, horrified. He didn’t!

“I didn’t!”

“I’m sure Taehyung has videos of everything. Plus, I’m offended you don’t remember where my tattoos are.”

“What?!” Jimin squeals. Any more embarrassment and he might just combust.

“After you spilled eggnog on me, you followed me into the restroom, feeling bad, and took off my sweater and even attempted to clean me with a towel.”

Jimin closes his eyes, body wanting to melt into the ground, half from misery, the other in disappointment.  How the fuck did he manage all that and forget it all? He saw Jungkook half naked and he can’t remember?!

“Holy-” Jimin breathes in deeply and gulps. “I’m so sorry.”

Jungkook laughs. “I don’t accept your apologies.”

“Huh?” Jimin’s eyes pop open and he stares up at Jungkook. Today, dressed simply in a white tee shirt and gray sweats, he looks adorable. Even if he is making Jimin want to grab his stuff and go into hiding.

“It wouldn’t be right to accept sorries for things I thoroughly enjoyed and equally partook in, would it?”

“You-what?!”

Jungkook leans down until their noses are almost touching. “I liked kissing you, Park Jimin. I liked having you in my lap. I liked having you undress me. What I’d really like though, is to have you do all those things again, sober.” Jungkook tips Jimin’s chin up with two fingers. “What do you say, Jimin-ssi? You, me, no elaborate arrangements, no surprise meetings, just us.”

Jimin looks up into Jungkook’s glittering eyes, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. How insane is this situation, he thinks. But at the same time, he simply cannot deny the chemistry between them.

So, he nods.

Jungkook laughs. “Great. I’m glad you agree. I was even ready to charm you with promises of seeing my tattoos again.”

Jimin giggles, raising a hand to smack at Jungkook’s arm.

“You’re truly not typical, are you?”

“Only one way to find out.”

5 years later

“Jimin!”

Jimin giggles as his best friend meets him at the door and pulls him into a huge hug before he can even get inside all the way.

“Taehyungie! Merry Christmas!” Jimin wraps one around the beta, the other holding on to a red foil wrapped gift. He looks around the room and is happy to see that Tae’s annual “Prelude to Christmas” parties have toned down so much. They’re much smaller now, just a group of their closest friends and family members. He sees Seokjin and Namjoon decorating the tree, teasing one another cutely, as they are still only in the dating period, even if they are single parents. He can hear Hobie’s infectious laughter from the kitchen, no doubt perfecting his yummy cupcakes with the children.

“Come, come, place your gift here and let me see that little baby bump!” Taehyung leads Jimin over to one of the side tables, makes him deposit the gift and then spins his best friend around so he can see for himself Jimin’s little growing form.

And Jimin proudly shows it off, pushing his back in and belly out, rubbing the small, barely there bump. Jimin chuckles as Tae swats his hands away and presses his own palms against the swell.

“Hello there, little bean. I am Taehyung and I am going to be your most favorite uncle. Ever! I promise you lots of snacks and candies and anything you want from any name brand you like!”

“And we all know how well that tactic worked out, don’t we?”

Jungkook’s voice comes from the doorway and an indignant Taehyung scowls. Jimin laughs and turns happy eyes towards his husband, who is holding their 2 year old daughter in his arms. Tae had given that exact same speech to Juri while she’d still been in Jimin’s tummy and the girl had come out with a very different favorite uncle.

“Juri! Juri-ah, come to Uncle Tae!” Tae claps and walks over, hands out, but the baby twists and turns her head into her father’s neck with a grunt.

Jimin laughs at Tae’s crestfallen expression and walks over to comfortingly pat his best friend’s back. “Don’t feel bad, my dear. She loves Jungkook more than me too.”

“God, Jimin, Juri is your spitting image.” Yoongi joins them and upon hearing her favorite uncle’s voice, Juri peers out from Jungkook’s neck, gracing Yoongi with a small, toothy grin.

“She’s a shameless flirt as well.” Everyone cackles at Yoongi’s remark.

“Come on, let’s get to the kitchen before Hoseok eats all the sweets.” Tae and Yoongi leave and Jimin turns to his husband, raising on tiptoes and meeting Jungkook’s lips for a brief kiss before placing one on their daughter’s cheek.

She giggles and Jimin’s heart flips. With her wide eyes, chubby cheeks and plump pout, there is no way anyone can mistake her to belong to anyone else but Jimin. Even her devotion to Jungkook resembles Jimin’s. His own mother jokes that Jimin may have given birth to Juri, but she is totally Jungkook’s child and Jimin believes it. She’s super clingy with her alpha father and Jimin loves that he is also very much under her little spell.

“Come here, sweetheart. Let’s go get some sweets and greet some friends, hmm?” Jimin takes their child, allowing Jungkook to take off his jacket.

Of course, she goes willingly into her omega father’s arms, but keeps her eyes on her alpha dad the whole way she gets carried off. When they reach the kitchen, she happily goes to Yoongi, allowing him to carry her over his shoulders. She even kisses Taehyung’s cheek, dissolving him completely from his sulking. Noone can resist the power of a Jeon. Jimin greets Hoseok and then Jin and Joon, cooing over how big their children are already. As single parents, omega Jin’s son is 6 and alpha Namjoon’s son is 5. After they had met at Tae’s christmas party the year prior, they had hit it off and have been dating since. Namjoon is also Jungkook’s Chief of Staff whereas Seokjin is a school teacher at the school Jimin used to teach at. There are little connections connecting everyone and Jimin loves how it is why they have all become so close. Hoseok, the chef, is Yoongi’s cousin and his cheerful attitude makes him a hit with everyone.

Jimin stands in the doorway and watches the merry in front of him. He’s so lucky.

A strong pair of arms encircle his waist from behind and open palms flatten over the swell of his tummy. Jimin covers those hands with his own, humming softly as he leans his weight back, basking in the scent of comfort and love and trust.

There are days he laughs with Jungkook over how they ran in a circle to get together. But Jungkook always reminds him that they weren’t ready to be with each other the first time they met. Jimin agrees. He would have hated to fall in love with Jungkook too young and potentially lose the love of his life.

“Tired, baby?” Jungkook drops a kiss on the side of Jimin’s neck, right over his fading mating mark before tucking his chin over Jimin’s shoulder.

Jimin shakes his head, a smile gracing his lips. He isn’t tired at all. With one baby and another on the way, Jimin is happy. It’s funny how Christmas has always been his favorite holiday for no particular reason. Now, he has so many reasons, most of them starting with and ending with Jungkook and their family. His home.

And…maybe the grandfather’s weren’t so wrong after all.

The End
