the full moon shone brightly above the sleeping town as stars blinked from afar on the night sky, midnight blue mixed with a glimmer of black. twilight breeze silently passed through the residence, and tree branches gently danced in the wind. the streets empty and merely illuminated by the ever-so-slightly luminous street lamps aligning the sidewalk.
the moonlight cast a silvery glow on the white ceramic floors and onto the white walls of the empty bedroom. you huo laid on the queen-sized bed, deep in slumber, and his breathing even. the white sheets underneath him wrinkled slightly from an earlier ordeal, and the duvet covered half of the male’s shoulders.
the latter stirred in his sleep, slowly opening his eyes to reveal a pair of beautiful light-colored orbs. you huo slowly got up as he sieved through the room, turning his head toward the empty bedsheets beside him. the sheets were slightly warm, a strong indication that someone was indeed there, laying right beside him a moment ago. you huo’s eyes then shifted toward the sliding glass door to the terrace, which was slightly ajar, and a figure standing outside on the balcony came into his vision.

you huo stood in silence for a moment when he stepped out onto the cold tiles, his light-colored eyes scanning the figure before him up and down.
the male before him had his bare upper torso welcoming the night breeze. his toned muscles greatly accentuated by the silver moonlight. the bottom part of his body hugged by a pair of loose, gray sweats, and his bare feet against the frigid ceramic tiles. the male half leaned onto the metal rails with a cigarette between his middle and forefinger. a small red orb glowed from the cigarette tail as clouds of gray gently dispersed into the dark.
“what are you doing out here?”
“hm?”
qin jiu slowly turned his head toward the source of the sound, his face lighting up as soon as he saw you huo. his usual lazy smile appearing on his lips.
“did my absence wake you up, my dear?” qin jiu approached the younger male. he leaned in and gave you huo a brief kiss on the cheek.
“mhmm.” you huo only hummed in response.
“aren’t you cold?” the younger voiced after a slight pause as he ever-so-slightly shivered from the cold night air. to everyone else, you huo would have looked indifferent from his cold demeanor, but qin jiu could see the slight pink hue creeping onto his cheeks as the cool breeze nipped at his skin.
“is my big invigilator concerned about me?” a cheeky grin crept up on his face.
“in your dreams.” you huo said flatly, his complexion indifferent.
qin jiu paid no heed to you huo’s unsavory response as his eyes curved into crescent moons. the former had gotten used to his big invigilator’s sharp tongue, but he knew that his big invigilator cared deeply about him, and so did he.
the older reached forward for his dear, snaking his arms around you huo’s thin waist as he pulled their bodies impossibly close. qin jiu could feel the warmth of his dear through his thin shirt. their shallow breaths intertwined as qin jiu looked at you huo’s pink and plump lips. qin jiu wanted to kiss him. real bad.
the latter gently rubbed his thumb over the corner of his lips, then close the scant distance between them in a delicate and sweet kiss. you huo’s eyes fluttered close as soon as their lips met. the hands around his waist tightened, and the raven placed his right hand on qin jiu’s broad shoulder.
the kiss was soft, with a tinge of smoke from the cigarette mixed with a faint taste of strawberries from the strawberry flavored candy he had earlier.
you huo inched away after a while but shivered as qin jiu cradled his face with his right hand before surging forward in yet another kiss. this time a little more eager with an intensity of its own as he pushed you huo against the walls. qin jiu pressed a little deeper, to which you huo responded by parting his lips to the soft pressure.
they kissed desperate until you huo pulled away in an attempt to catch his breath, his lips glistening from the kiss. he could still make out the sweet taste of strawberries and smokiness from the cigarettes in his mouth.
“three is not enough?” the big invigilator glared at the taller male.
qin jiu let out an airy chuckle before leaning in, his voice a low whisper, “enough, enough. but you did enjoy that, didn’t you, big invigilator?”
“scram.” the raven had gone back to his icy demeanor. he lifted his foot up and lightly kicked qin jiu’s leg.
another laughter left qin jiu’s lips for the hundredth time that day, “let’s head back to bed?” he stretched his hand out to you huo, which he gladly took. qin jiu then laced their fingers together. the latter placed a gentle kiss on the raven’s eyelids before pulling him back into the warmth of their shared bedroom.
